Decor was lovely. Staff were very attentive much better than other UK hotels I’ve stayed at. Although they had limited plant based options on the menu, one of the options they had was good and they did a fab plant based roast dinner. The little touches were lovely, like the chocolates in the room, the snack bar and welcome drinks. All things that didn’t cost much I’m sure but made you feel looked after and like you were getting value.

Labelling on the menu was a bit mixed up and confusing for vegan options. A gym would have been the icing on the cake even just some mats and weights to counteract all the walking! Worth knowing that the snug really is snug and I’d have upgraded to the next size up ideally.

Spacious room, really attentive staff, clean, great location (many trails nearby). Complimentary tea was much appreciated and very good (never had better macarons!). A quick dinner bite in the lounge was great quality!

Breakfast staff was very low, just one person for all tables. After a large group, that was clearly not enough. The second day there were lots of things that were not replenished, like croissants and orange juice. The quality of the rest was very good, though. Most was made to order and superfresh and very good. This was just a minor negative, nothing to get too upset about (and I could have asked).

Everything about the stay was brilliant from start to finish. The staff give you a warm welcome and show you to your room. When I arrived in my room I was taken aback by how lovely it was from the beautiful decor to the luxurious bathroom. I loved all the small touches, from the handmade local chocolates to the bubble bath and bathrobes. Everything had been thought of. Breakfast each morning was delicious, I had smoked trout and scrambled eggs one morning and the garden breakfast another both were equally good. I also ate in the restaurant the first night I arrived which was a great experience. Special shout out to Nicky who arranged for me to have a the same room for the three nights I was there which I couldn’t book online and to Bronté who gave me a warm welcome. If you want a beautiful base to discover the surrounding areas then I highly recommend staying here. It’s peaceful, calm and relaxing and a great escape from city life.

Everything! If I could have stayed my entire trip there, I would. First of all, the place is beautiful inside and outside! The grounds are lovely and we walked them several times. The ( handsome ) manager was very friendly and helpful. The sitting lounges were so comfortable and had great snacks. Perfect place for reading. The chef is amazing - best food on the entire trip was here. Not only did our food look good, it tasted even better. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms had everything we needed in them. We really didn’t want to leave. It was Easter weekend, and they had even decorated eggs for the kids there to find. The manager gave us some really good candy when we left. It was just me and my adult daughter traveling for vacation. If we go back to Scotland, I will plan more of our trip around this area so we can stay longer. All I can say is you will NOT regret booking at this place!

nothing at all

Friendly staff, great new refurbishment, food was excellent. Rooms fitted out and serviced to a high standard. Nice little extras provided such as a bed for our dog. He liked it so much we bought him one the same.

The administration of the booking and charging was a mess. The new team didn't understand the basics of booking.com type of bookings. Even though we paid upfront to b.com we were going to be charged for 2 of our rooms and DID actually get charged for 3 rooms @ a total of £1450! Now sorted. Being newly opened after refurbishment, the service and computer system were very disorganised.

Eight things to mention. Lovely building, beautifully renovated, maintaining the character of 'traditional' Scotland. A log burning fire in the lounge and comfortable seating. A spacious sumptuous bedroom and lovely en suite shower room. The food was delicious. We ate dinner and a cooked breakfast. The Chef is gifted in our opinion. Staff were all welcoming. Darren kindly remembered my husband's wish to try a 'Dark and Stormy' - a complimentary drink - and mdh enjoyed it very much.

Three things to mention. The first - the mattress was very firm..A wee bit too firm for our liking but that's personal taste. Second 'dislike' - the coffee machine was not functioning so we chose the hot chocolate thinking it would be special. Not so. £10 charged for two very ordinary hot chocolates after dinner which frankly tasted like the cheap stuff we used to get 50+ years ago from a vending machine after swimming at the local baths. Hmm that was disappointing. Thirdly, tech issues. The link to the website so we could stream from our mobiles to the room TV did not work.and we did not want to bother anyone about it so watched 'Shetland' live instead. The room phone was not yet connected but we were reassured the Night Porter was available should we need them.

We absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to return. We received such a warm welcome upon arrival. All the staff we met were absolutely wonderful - so helpful, kind and professional. The recent refurbishment is impeccable. We loved the decor and it made the whole place feel very cosy. Our room was to die for. So luxurious and comfortable, and they’d thought of everything. It had an actual king size bed, not 2 singles pushed together - heaven! There’s a snack bar on the landing with a mini fridge containing fresh milk for tea and coffee and a variety of delicious snacks. Dinner was superb. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and the food itself was delicious. There are lots of special touches throughout the hotel, showing that they’ve thought of everything and they really care about comfort, from wellies and dog towels in the entrance hall to the massive log burning stove being already lit when we came down to breakfast. Ignore any older negative reviews and give this place a try!

Nothing major and definitely didn’t detract from our stay, but my iPhone 14 wouldn’t cast to the TV in our room. Luckily, my boyfriend’s android worked. Just wanted to mention in case this can be looked into - seems a shame to have spent money on the new tech if it doesn’t work with some phones. Other than that, we couldn’t fault this place.

Warm welcome from the team, very personal approach who clearly take pride in their jobs. Beautiful interior design, everything high quality. Very comfortable bed, good shower. Dinner - excellent all round, from service to standard of the food. Breakfast also good choice and cooked fresh to order. The location and the gardens, whilst right beside the hustle and bustle of Pitlochry, make you feel like you're in the country. Great location for walking from the door, thanks to the team for local info.

Only one issue whilst staying was the radiator in the bathroom wasn't working. The heated towel rail was piping hot though, so it helped prevent the room getting too cold (outside temperature was - 7 overnight)

The staff were lovely, polite and helpful. Lived the log fire in the lounge area, great coming down in the morning to the smell of a log fire! Breakfast was super, it was a change from the last time we stayed which was buffet style, but I think it was better getting your order taken, best scrambled eggs I've had!

Can't say I didn't like anything, my only grump is the cost for the dog staying! The last number of times we stayed we had a one off charge, this time it was £20 per dog per night!! I personally think this is expensive, puts the cost of our stay much higher, especially if we have a "deal"! I did query it and was told that was always the case and all the hotels charge per night! I beg to differ, plus at other hotels we have stayed at. We get a doggy pack, usually treat, poo bags, water bowl a wee dog bed or blanket, The Pine Trees gave nothing.

Overall, our stay was very impressive. The hotel itself is beautiful with plenty of areas to chill and have a drink. The rooms are modern and spacious and stocked with everything you need. The staff were super helpful, especial Bronte at reception, we got tonnes of great recommendations for planning our trip. Breakfast was great and we eat in the hotel both nights, once from the evening menu and the bar menu, both were fantastic.

Nothing it was fab
