Breakfast is always great. Super friendly staff (we spoke English and used translator apps). GREAT location- basically in the train station, walkable to many restaurants, stores, and transportation (ie bus, taxi, train).

For Americans the rooms could be small. We knew this before and made sure to pick the right larger room. I would suggest making sure people double check room photos before booking (especially for large suitcases). We LOVE our room but again we knew what to book

I use this hotel to stay in a location near the Shinkansen line and away from downtown Tokyo. The staff are wonderful, the town is quiet, the breakfast is OUTSTANDING! Rooms are clean and comfortable and have all needed amenities. While you can use the hotel as merely a bedroom, you should explore Odawara. It's a nice place with interesting shops, a castle and more. The train station isn't crowded. There's a convenience store near the hotel, in addition to the ones in the nearby station. From here, you can take a comfortable Shinkansen (a reserved seat!) day trip into Tokyo, a scenic ride to Hakone or go to the many interesting places nearby such as Izu, Kamakura or Shizuoka. Since most planes from North America seem to land at Narita in the afternoon, after going though customs and sending my bags via Yamato, I take the NEX into Tokyo and jump on the Shinkansen for Odawara. If hungry, there are restaurants, or you can grab something at the convenience stores, then go to sleep and wake up ready to explore or to move on to the next stop.

I have stayed in this hotel multiple times. It's on the Shinkansen route (reserved seats, so no standing on a crowded train), easy to access and has a great breakfast. Odawara station isn't as crowded at those in Tokyo and it feels like coming home at the end of the day. It's a good base for traveling to Tokyo, Kamakura, Shizuoka, Izu or Hakone. But don't forget to explore Odawara. There are many obvious attractions like the castle and the sea, but also wander the streets and visit the small shops. Many handmade items for sale in the underground mall near the station. The hotel staff are very professional and have access by video to a human translator if you need extra special advice or assistance.

Very poor signage for hotel - no outside signage indicating where it was accessed from street level. Restaurant is advertised as being open from 5.00pm to 9.00 for food. We stayed two nights and could not get a meal - being told it was fully booked. We sat in the small area of seating near the bar for over 2 hours and there were always seats in the restaurant. It appears they do just one sitting per table and do not use all the tables they have. It’s shameful to operate like this - we had flown in from a 9 hour flight and then 1.5 hour drive and could not get a meal.

Being attached to the station was very convenient when you arrive very late at night. The room was very clean and a decent size. Would love to stay here again but for at least 3 nights so we can explore Odawara and also catch the switch back train to Gora.

We found it hard to find the hotel even though clear instructions were given to us. After an 8 hour flight , 11:30 at night and it's very cold things seem to be harder to find. Maybe a hotel sign at the bottom of the stairs, which are on your right, pointing up the stairs would help.

Excellent location Difficult to find the building and reception area. Did not find signs which direction to go to find the building from the train station. In the evening I went out shopping, coming back to the building were several restaurants but all close by late evening. The elevator was confusing to find. With 3 elevators it seems only 1 elevator was working in the late evening. I had to try all 3 elevators which one will open. Other than that the facilities is pretty good. Food was good.

The hotel is very nice and clean. My room was very spacious and I had a nice view. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great, very close to the train station. Breakfast was great and the restaurant has a really nice view.

It is a little hard to find when you first come from the train station. I was not able to use the public bath because I have tattoos, even though this is a hotel and people of different cultural backgrounds are expected there. Other hotels had no issue with tattoos. Since the hotel is close to the train stations, it can get a bit noisy.

Breakfast was Japanese style buffet- ie lots of Japanese choices but could still be good for picky eaters (bread, pancakes, eggs, coffee, and noddles). If not there are many cafes close by that people could go to and eat such as a bakery, grocery store, and coffee places. The baths are public baths but they offer private baths for 60 minutes for a reasonable fee. In a great part of town for Odawara and right next door to train station making day trips easy. We were also able to ship our luggage to the hotel from our Tokyo hotel.

Wish the beds could have been together but this is common in Japan

Location is excellent and very close walk to the train and the castle. Wonderful stores and food selections nearby. The massage service was excellent and the Onsen was delightful.

The breakfast was not as nice as in other similarly priced hotels we stayed in during our trip. The breakfast area closed earlier than any of our other hotels. The staff made us feel very rushed and by 9:00 a.m. they were telling us that they were closing. The food items were not plentiful by 8:45 a.m. and the items were not replenished. Fortunately there were other nice restaurants in the area.

Can’t beat the location of the hotel as it is on top of the train station. It is pleasant to have breakfast with view of ocean and Odawara castle. I shipped my luggage to the hotel before checking in, and the luggage was in our room when we opened the door. Breakfast was delicious.

When we checked out, I asked the front desk to help to ship my luggage to the hotel I would stay in two days. To my disappointment, the front desk staff barely understood English, and used an iPad to arrange zoom meetings. It was difficult for me to understand an Indian from zoom at the beginning. Front desk staff then arranged a causation woman to zoom with me. I then understood the hotel didn’t have the paid luggage forwarding service. I just didn’t feel comfortable to zoom in public.
