It was well located, just across the road from the main station, and in walking distance of the town centre. There were plenty of trams from the station to other parts of town, and in general the public transport links were excellent. The airport bus leaves half-hourly from the bus station right across the road in front of the hotel, and since it's a local bus, it's very cheap (or free, if you're over 70). The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice.

This is really just a niggle rather than a real complaint - but since you asked... There was a coffee maker in the room, but since I'm a tea-drinker I would have preferred a kettle. I was able to heat water in the coffee maker, but I had to use it a few times before the traces of coffee were completely washed out. I would also have liked a greater choice of tea bags.

It's a really nice hotel with very friendly staff. The reception was outstanding and helpful. The hotel was clean, even though there was an huge dog show organised in the city and the hotel was full of dogs- the cleaning team of the shared areas was working hard to keep the standards. The room was big and very nice with a comfortable bed, a decent bathroom, fridge and a coffee maker. Upon arrival, we have received two bowls and and a toy for our dog which we thought was super nice. Our Buddy loved the toy, so we took it home :-) There is also a nice park nearby, so we took the chance of daily walks.

Our stay was generally very pleasant, but if I can list what could be improved, here it is: - we didn't know (or I have missed it) that the room had only roof windows. We liked it at the end, especially that you could control them remotely. However, the first impression was "oh no!" - the parking lot- a bit too far from the hotel, especially that there are parking spaces on the street closer to the hotel. These are also payable, but not over the weekend, so we choose this option (closer and cheaper); - the room cleaning was a bit weird :) We got our sheets and towels sorted out daily (even though we left them hung) but the toilted paper was not supplied and the used coffee cups were not cleaned.

The hotel boasts a prime location near the main railway station and the city center. The hotel has comfy beds, quiet rooms, carpeted floors, and a hot water kettle and a coffee maker in the room, which is essential for me because I am usually not hungry enough in the mornings to go for breakfast, but a coffee is always a must. Furthermore, I like a warm cup of tea before going to sleep, so this is something I always look for in any hotel room. The staff is friendly and helpful as well as welcoming. The hotel is immaculate, and my room overlooked a quiet street, where I could hear the blackbeard sing in the morning, which made it very pleasant.

The room was a bit small for my liking. Fortunately, I was alone, but I wouldn't want to stay there with another person. It would have been cramped. Furthermore, there was a group of students/teenagers, probably on a school trip, and they were running around the corridors, shouting, which was quite unpleasant and disturbed me. I wish the staff from the hotel had told them to be quiet, but nobody seemed to care, not even their accompanying teachers/adults.

The room was beautiful and huge! It was modern and clean and so comfortable. The decor was also very cool. The staff on check in were so helpful and did kindly upgrade me which was awesome. The desk was great for working, the bathtub was luxurious and the bed was very comfortable.

Being close to the train station was a convenient location but not the greatest area. If you have a room at the front, you hear all the announcements from the bus station. There was a little smell from the drains in the bathroom but it wasn't terrible. And the fact the room door opened outwards into the hallways didn't allow for any extra security locks.

This hotel has been totally refurbished, and our rooms were huge! All messages were answered promptly before our stay and staff were professional and helpful. Close to the bus and tram stations and at the foot of the old town. Bed linen and bed comfortable and high quality, spotless.

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. For some reason one room only had a handheld shower over the bath with no hook whereas the other had a separate shower cubicle. I’m sure we could have asked to change the room but after a late arrival we couldn’t be doing with changing rooms.

The staff was exceptionally professional and helpful. We had some problems with non-functioning sockets in our first room and when we pointed it out at the reception, a technician was immediately sent there. He couldn't resolve the problem, so we were automatically offered a new room (to move into at our convenience), and when we moved, we found out that we even got an upgrade! Both rooms were very comfortable, spacious, with a large bathroom. We appreciated the complimentary water, tea and coffee. The hotel is a short walking distance from the train station and all the major attractions are an easy walk away. Very much recommended!

After some initial issues with non-functioning sockets, we moved to a new upgraded room and have no complaints whatsoever.

Lovely hotel, the beds are super comfy and the rooms spacious.

In my opinion the dog charge is excessive. I understand i need to pay for the privilege of my pet staying in a hotel but this hotels charge was more than 2 other hotels by a substantial amount and therefore I don't feel I can give the full 10/10 rating. In addition to this there were a few niggles at the garden restaurant. The menu said Vanilla Creme Brulee, what i got was chocolate. The triple cheese burger only actually comes with 2 types of cheese.....like I say small niggles

The hotel is beautiful. It is an old building but the rooms are renovated and new, clean and stylishly decorated. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and modern. The hotel is very close to the main train station so very conveniently located for the city centre.

My only complaint is there is only shower gel/shampoo in the shower. With a luxury hotel which this hotel clearly is, a few more toiletries in the bathroom would be appreciated. Also the room door opens outwards so there is no way to secure it other than the lock.

When booking, we did not expect much. And instead of an old, run-down, out-of-fashion we found ourselves in ... a palace. The decor was old-style, yet very tasty and super-elegant. The room was clean, bed very comfortable, good AC, good wifi, very professional staff. This is what a real hotel should look like and that was a refreshing experience after staying in all-the-same chain hotels. It was PERFECT!

Breakfast was poor. The reastaurant staff stood by the counter looking at us eating, which did make me feel uncomfortable.

I studied in Brno for a number of years but never stayed at the Grandhotel. Now much later, returning as a foreigner, I was delighted with the stay. Located conveniently across from the bus stop where the bus from Vienna airport drops you off. Friendly staff checked us in after hours, we were at the room in no time. The room was spacious and clean, nice bathroom, comfy bed. What more to want after crossing the ocean? It was also exceptionally quiet, no noise from the trams below. We did not do breakfast at the hotel but it looked very good. After checking out, we took advantage of having our luggage stored at the front desk while visiting the city. This place rocks, will be back.
