Living in an island house was an unforgettable experience! At the entrance to the island, there's a medieval castle, and the bridge that leads onto the island is surrounded by water—at high tide, it feels truly magical! We were greeted near the house by the friendly dog, Roxy. The homeowners were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. For breakfast, we were invited to the dining room, where the tables were elegantly set. We were impressed by the beautiful china set and delicious homemade Irish breakfast. We hope to return on this charming island, where the delightful Roxy will be there to welcome us again.

Quiet and convenient location. Communication was great with suggestions of where to have dinner prior to our arrival at approx 8pm after Ferry crossing. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Hot shower.
Felt the room to small. 2 beds in room. 1 dbl and 1 single. The later crammed against the wardrobe. Headboard on dble made a noise against the wall. Had to put a cushion down in gap to minimise movement during the night. Shower very narrow. Not much room. No water, tea or coffee facilities in the bedroom for a late night cuppa or early morning pre breakfast cuppa.

For me was the location with a view of a ruined castle a short walk away which to my surprise had been made safe and you could climb the stairs 6 floors for a great view of the area. The host was a very friendly man who made sure you had a comfortable stay. the room was large with onsuite with everything you needed and a lovely view. A superb breakfast in the morning and I felt very welcome all the time. The only regret was that it was a one night stay as I was touring the whole of Ireland definitely a place for a long stay. I'm rating this as high as I can 10 out 10 plus first class accommodation and very good value.

Setting was superb. 4 course (set) meal was offered for an additional fee, which we took advantage of avoiding having to leave the property with its beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed walking (minutes) to the other side of the island to the Shannon. Sat out in the family garden next to the pond enjoying (own) drink, as did other guests through the course of the evening. Enjoyed company of the cattle who you were the quietest known. Visited the castle ruin in the morning (10am-4pm secured and free) which was lovely before driving on.
N/a - homely and friendly which was perfect for us. Would stay again.

The location was very beautiful and it was great to be able to step outside and take a walk in such a post-card setting. The castle ruins next door were not open during our stay, but it's another nice amenity. Our host was absolutely great and gave us some excellent advice on a route for our day trip that turned out to be one of the high points of our vacation.
We like to be able to walk to our evening meal and it was a fifteen minute drive to find a restaurant, but hey, you can rarely have natural settings and restaurants in the same space.

Lovely location with a view of the castle in the distance. Really quiet, even though every room available was booked. Good breakfast with a choice of Irish or scrambled eggs. Lovely setting in a large dining room. Samatha was a great host, very polite. The bed was a double but was fine for 2 people.
Room was small, but adequate for 1 night. The shower was small for a large person.

I loved the place from the first sight. It was so peaceful and quiet, located in an amazing scenery with the view of the ruins of the castle. Wow... I felt like in heaven. Delicious Irish breakfast made us happy and full for the rest of the day (till dinner time;) Host so friendly and nice... I recommend it with all of my heart.

The house is in a peaceful and stunning location about two miles from Ballylongford. The hosts are very friendly and have run their business for thirty years. The home is not as modern as some other b+bs, but my bed was very comfortable, and I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast.
No real issues for me. I do like a kettle in my room to make drinks, but I have been staying at a number of other b+bs with no kettle too.

Our host was wonderful. Really good breakfast. The view from the house is the channel with the castle on the other side.
The water had high turbidity from the tap so we used bottled water for brushing teeth and drinking. As we need the plug in phones, pads and my CPAP machine, the outlet behind the headboards was inconvenient but not insurmountable.

Irish breakfast was delicious! The view is outstanding. The easy walks around are lovely. And Patricia and Stephanie were super friendly and helpful hosts.
Couldn't get WiFi to work, but I didn't bother asking for help so that one is on me. Nearest place for food was 20 minutes but that's the trade off for being out in the beautiful countryside.
