Check in was quick and smooth, we couldnt get in the parking lot so parked on the road outside and they sorted out a 24hr permit for us. The room was lovely and airy and very clean, bed very comfy, plenty of space to move around, bathroom also lovely and clean with a large walk in shower. Bath in the room. It was a warm day/night so great to have air con that was quiet and worked really well. Bar/lounge area is very nice with a mix of sofas and chairs. Great outdoor patio space if the weather good too. Both a coffee machine and a kettle were in the room, along with hairdryer, iron and ironing board, thick towelling bath robes and slippers, fridge and lovely L'Occitaine bath and shower gels to use.

The lift wasn't working so it was quite a few stairs and different levels to get to level 3 so that might be an issue for some. Also, breakfast was a bit hit and miss, my order came after the 3 others in our group so I was eating after they'd finished. Also, not much choice for gluten and lactose intolerant - 2 of our party are and 1 could only have 1 hot dish from the entire menu, there was nothing on the continental that was suitable, except orange juice.

The room was very tastefully decorated and had everything I needed. The TV very good and the waterfall shower great. Plenty of other casual seating places around the communal rooms plus nice outside patio area. Very easy to stroll into the centre of Cheltenham in the evening. The Reception staff were welcoming as were the breakfast staff.

I expected a fresh fruit salad as a breakfast option, but it was out of a tin I think. Don't generally have bread or toast so it would have been great to have an oatcake or Ryvita instead. Liked the yogurt. Would have preferred a cafetière of coffee at the table rather than having to queue up at the coffee making station. The Restaurant setting was very pleasant and quite liked the music in various parts of the hotel as it was not intrusive. Very relaxing.

The location was ideal for a pleasant walk into Cheltenham town, taking approximately 10 minutes. The breakfast was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our newly renovated room. The air conditioning in the room was excellent, which was especially appreciated during our stay due to the warm weather. The staff were accommodating and friendly. I was also very impressed with the varied in room dining options!

The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't have stayed longer!

As an ex-local, have stayed here many times. Comfortable, quiet rooms, with good facilities (including fridge), attractive decor, good quality bed-linen and toiletries; excellent location in Montpellier area.

Air con in my room needed maintenance (couldn't adjust, and message on display said filter needed changing; could feel cool air coming out of vent, but it didn't circulate sufficiently around room). Slight rancid smell (e.g. drains?) on entering room. Disappointed that the mini-bar had gone (formerly a USP of Hotel du Vin, with good wine, beer, sometimes tinned cocktails, and snacks, as well as the usual miniatures), but I guess that's the way the sector as a whole is going, and it's cheaper to bring your own drinks and snacks, if you know in advance to do that.

Beautifully appointed room which smelt lovely. Very clean. Very spacious bathroom, Occitane en Provence soaps and shampoo were really nice. Room amenities were excellent, nice to have a Nespresso as well as a kettle. Very peaceful and quiet, no noise from other rooms at all. Great location for the town centre.

Was a pity the lift was out of service for check in and out, given luggage. The air conditioning unit in the room was not very powerful and didn't cool very effectively - I also had to have the fan on. Only small things, it was a great stay.

The decor, the location, the facilities in each bedroom, loved the bath at the foot of the bed and the shower was brilliant. Quality of cooked breakfast was amazing.

The awkward parking/lack of parking spaces to accommodate for the number of rooms. We stayed for two nights, on the first morning we went to breakfast around 0915 but there were a lot of tables that needed clearing, the coffee machine needed resetting/emptying and there were no cups or glasses left to use for the juice. Seemed to be a bit of a delay with everything or maybe short staffed that morning.

Very friendly welcome and explanation of parking, as well as checking if we wanted dinner or breakfast. We requested a bath and were very pleased with the roll top bath we had in the room, as well as separate en-suite. All very clean, good facilities in the room, good comfy bed, and nice little touches like bottles of water, bathrobes and slippers. Excellent location for Cheltenham town centre and especially Montpellier. This was our second stay and we will definitely stay again when visiting the area. I think it is good value for what you get.

My only negative was the pillows which were too soft for me; and the shower could do with a hand-held sprayer as well as a rain head. The car park at the front is small, but plenty of space on the road which was free.

Room was large and attractive, with a nice view.

Lift was not working and it was 44 steps to our room. Apparently it had been broken for four weeks, but we had not been warned. There was a constant buzz in the room, perhaps from an aircon system outside the room. Lights all seemed to be in the wrong place, so for example it was impossible to see clearly in the bathroom mirror. The hotel is in an area where all the neighbouring properties are offices or institutions, so there is no liveliness.

The restaurant area has a nice view over the garden perfect for breakfast. We sat there on our first morning. On the second morning even though it was quiet we weren’t allowed to sit there as it wasn’t “set for breakfast”. Instead the guests were all crammed into a small dark area next to the buffet table. It seems a shame when the hotel has nice public rooms not to use them for the benefit of guests that are there.

The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and I loved the decor. The bathroom was fantastic. Wonderful shower! In the room it was so good to have tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water and a mini fridge too. The staff were lovely and the general atmosphere nice. Convenient for walking into the town center.

Although not a problem to me during my stay , I do not like 'dogs allowed' in a hotel. It was possible to hear a dog but fortunately it wasn't near my room. Sea-gull noise if the windows are left open! Room a little stuffy so I did but was disturbed from 4am.
