We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home. This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again. Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special. The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

Everything was incredible! My recent stay at the Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai was an experience that not only exceeded all my expectations but also immersed me in a living history that showcased the visionary founder, Jamsetji Tata's, remarkable legacy. The staff at Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai truly embody the essence of exceptional service. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and they went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was flawless. During the hotel tour, I had the privilege of meeting Sir Prashakar, a living legend who has been a part of the Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai for several decades. Sir Prashakar's wealth of knowledge and his passion for preserving the hotel's heritage were evident in every word he spoke. The hotel itself is a masterpiece. The architecture exudes grandeur and elegance, while the interiors blend modern luxury and timeless charm harmoniously. One of the highlights of my visit was the presence of my esteemed Guru Ji, who visited me at the Hotel. The staff at Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai recognised the significance of her role in my life and treated her with utmost respect and reverence. They embraced her importance and made her feel incredible. Another highlight of my visit was the enchanting e-carriage tour offered by the hotel. This unique experience allowed us to traverse the vibrant streets of Mumbai while soaking in the sights and sounds of this bustling city. The attention to detail displayed by the staff was awe-inspiring. Every interaction was characterised by their genuine warmth, professionalism, and a deep-seated desire to make my stay remarkable. Whether it was the thoughtful gestures of leaving chocolates in my room or the seamless coordination of special dietary requests, the staff's commitment to excellence was truly unparalleled. I can’t highly recommend this hotel, it is one of the best hotels, if not the best hotel in the world. The services are equal to none and it is a must when in Mumbai!

Undoubtedly the finest levels of service we have ever experienced. This was our first trip to the Taj and it delivered on all levels. From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much bother. A smile on all of their faces and constant "welcome sir, welcome madam, namaste" everytime we saw them. Alongside "Happy Holi", that was the time we visited, they was a constant high level of service to match. The room, food, front of house, housekeeping, all of the staff were nothing other than wonderful. Everyone made us so welcome. A business is only as good as the staff you employ. Clearly The Taj's management team have got it so right. I can't imagine how one would ever experience such high levels of service anywhere else. Thank you so much to the Taj and all of the staff for making us feel so welcome

There is nothing I can say here which will explain the joy that this hotel provided. I almost don’t want to tell you anything because I want you to experience it for yourself. If you can justify the cost, do it. You won’t be disappointed. Get them to pick you up from the airport. Eat in the hotel restaurant (especially the golden dragon) and just experience a true 5 star. I have never experience 5 star like this. Usually it’s about all inclusive 5 star. Whereas this is very much luxury 5 star and every single person you encounter at the hotel is dedicated to saying ‘YES’.

Oh my god. To add something here feels like an insult. But if I had to pick something. HAD TOO I would say that the free slippers they provide in the room weren’t branded. That is the most ridiculous criticism I have ever provided but shows how absolutely amazing the hotel actually is.

Proximity of scenic places and all the staffs are so welcoming, helpful, kindhearted and always smiling. They always give good advice. I am really impressed by all the people working in Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Wonderful and tasty food. Even those working in the restaurant are too good. The atmosphere is clean, pure and soothing to the body, mind and soul. It has been a marvellous experience in staying in that 5 stars hotel and gives us the taste of palatial feelings. The sitarist and the guy playing the flute are so enchanting and enhance positiveness in the atmosphere. I am really amazed by the grandeur and beauty of the artistic decor of the hotel. The heritage tour was awesome.

I love everything.

The staff were incredibly friendly all of the time - constantly greeting you with a welcoming smile, asking how you are or how your day has been, engaging in conversations, and wanting to assist in any way that they can! I was also extremely impressed with how well they all spoke English! My room was cleaned, tidied and restocked at least 2 times a day. The buffet breakfast each morning had such a huge variety of everything and anything that you could think of, with beautiful views of the ocean. And I loved the newspaper hung on my door each morning in the little hessian bag - so cute! Room service was excellent - food was delivered in a timely manner, the service was exceptional and food was really tasty. For the $$ spent on accommodation per night, you expect the service to be exceptional but everything exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail was amazing - even the chauffeured vehicle to transfer me to the airport had water, refresher towels, mints, hand cream - and the driver was very lovely, we had a great chat! Some highlights of my stay - the gorgeous architecture and learning the history of the palace, my beautiful luxurious room, the guided tour of the Taj with our tour guide Mr. Prabhakar - I love his dedication and passion to the Taj, a retired chef who returned to carry out these tours, dinner by the pool being served by Shailesh, Hansika and their team - I had the lobster and it was absolutely amazing, being greeted by Choudhary at the elevator every day, and the friendly service generally by all of the staff - especially the lovely man at the X-Ray machine at the entrance, who would give me beautiful compliments every time I came in and out of the palace! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - 3 nights was not long enough!

There is nothing I can think of... I enjoyed everything about my stay! Maybe the cost of the rooms... but it was definitely worth the experience!

Take the Heritage tour around the Hotel.Very informative tells you its history free if charge. Waw. Windows aren't opened if a little musty ask for an air conditioning unit and some jasmine. Booked a room overlooking the harbour.Amazing sunrise.Make use of the outdoor pool .Take on all the sights downstairs. Great show in the evening on the window displays overlooking the pool.Take a leisurely drink or meal in the garden Would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel.Amazing hospitality.A lasting memory. WE WERE ROBBED, unfortunately. Despite all luxury in The Taj Mahal Palace, a warning to future guests to take their valuables with them. Large sum of money (13k €) was stolen from locked safe of our hotel room by their staff. Although we contacted hotel several times, they didn`t want to take responsibility and find the thief. Very bad first impression! Because of this we will never visit hotel again. We are big company, family owners, serious people, not thieves!

We were upgraded to a suite on the 6th floor as our room was not ready for check in. The facilites and the room were just amazing...everything so well thought of, and I got a Welcome back cake from the hotel as well. The breakfast was great, except on the Sunday morning when it was very slow service, they did not have enough staff, it was very messy! Dinners were in the specialty restaurants, and the Japanese especially was very very good in all aspects.

Pool is always very crowded, and the pool staff is not always reprimanding people "vaping" in the area.

The customer service was flawless, with staff who were not only professional but genuinely warm and attentive. Everything—from the check-in process to the smallest personal touches—was handled with care and grace. The location is unbeatable, with views of the Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea just steps away. My mornings began with an incredible breakfast spread offering a vast array of delicious options from across India and beyond. The culinary excellence was matched only by the service and presentation. What truly set this experience apart was the sense of history that envelops the hotel. A special thank you to Mr. Newton, the in-house historian, who spent two hours personally walking me through the rich legacy of the palace. Having worked there for over 44 years, his stories, insights, and passion brought the walls of the hotel to life. It was like walking through time, guided by someone who had lived it. I only stayed four days, and it wasn’t nearly enough. I didn’t want to leave. Next time, I’ll be staying longer—because the Taj isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a destination in itself. Thank you to everyone at the Taj Mahal Palace for creating memories I will cherish forever. I can’t wait to return.
