This iconic hotel doesn’t just offer accommodation — it offers an experience steeped in heritage, luxury, and timeless charm. Truly world-class in every sense.

Areas for Improvement: Bed Length: The bed provided in the room was relatively short for individuals taller than 6 feet. An option for an extended or king-size bed would enhance comfort for taller guests and better align with the hotel's premium standards. Wash Basin Noise: The wash basin emitted a noticeable and somewhat irritating sound during use, which affected the otherwise peaceful experience. This may warrant a maintenance check or acoustic treatment. Balcony Flooring: The marble flooring in the balcony became uncomfortably cold, especially during early mornings and late evenings. A carpeted surface or alternative material could provide better thermal comfort and usability.

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unmatched—gracious, warm, and thoughtful in every way. To our surprise, we were upgraded to a luxurious suite to celebrate our anniversary, and what awaited us was beyond anything we imagined. The room was beautifully decorated with balloons, flowers, and an incredible anniversary cake. Every detail was done with so much care, and it truly made our celebration so special and personal. The suite itself was stunning—elegant interiors, spacious layout, and a breathtaking sea view. We felt pampered throughout our entire stay. The service, food, ambiance, and overall vibe of the hotel make it stand out as a symbol of timeless luxury. Without a doubt, this is the best hotel in Mumbai. I’m so grateful for the memories created here, and it will definitely be my first choice for every future visit. Thank you, Taj, for making our anniversary unforgettable. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like. Everything was perfect—from the service to the room, the food, and the overall experience. The entire stay exceeded my expectations in every way.

We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home. This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again. Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special. The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

The crowding in the evenings in and around the palace lobby and the grand staircase

We stayed at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai from 13th May to 17th May, and it was truly the most spectacular hotel experience we've ever had. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt welcomed and taken care of in every possible way. The service is on another level-every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort. I'm e th kind of place for here nothing feels like too much to o ask. The attention to detail is unmatched, from the immaculate rooms to the personalised care throughout the stay. What truly sets this hotel apart is the ambience-live flute and sitar performances in the background create an atmosphere that's both elegant and soothing. It's more than just a stay; it's an experience. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Mumbai. This is luxury hospitality at its finest. We'll definitely be staying here on our next visit.

Taj team demonstrated our best Indian culture of respect, honour and all team members remain were always down to earth. We really experienced " Atithi Devo Bhav" like feeling throughout our stay. Our one day stay was on 22nd August 2025 on my wife birthday with The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. 1) Warm welcome : Very nice warm welcome from Taj team with Pooja / Tilak and welcome drink. Special thanks to Shivani and her team for all best arrangement. 2) Birthday celebration : Taj Team arranged cake and balloons on my wife birthday followed by given greeting. It awesome experience. Thanks to Mr. Persy for great explanation. 4) Breakfast : Breakfast was extremely nice. All arrangements and food quality was very nice. Wah Taj! Wah Taj! Wah Taj! We four friends stayed for one night, from 17th August to 18th August 2025, at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. It had been our dream since childhood to experience a stay at this iconic hotel, and that dream was fulfilled on this memorable day. In fact, we feel its name should be “Taj Mandir Palace” instead of Taj Mahal Palace, as the experience was nothing short of divine. Though the stay was expensive, it was worth far more than the cost. The gestures, warmth, and politeness of all the staff, including the senior staff, were truly remarkable. What touched us most was their equal and respectful treatment towards every guest—whether a big shot or a common person, there was absolutely no difference in their behaviours. This sense of indiscriminate hospitality left a deep impact on us. We spent a wonderful night at the Taj. From dinner to breakfast the next morning, the affection and quality of service made us completely speechless. A heartfelt thank you to the Taj Mahal Palace and its entire staff for giving us such unforgettable memories.

I like everything

The view from the room was breathtaking. An excellent room. Dinner at Golden Dragon restaurant was delicious. Breakfast arrangement was not desirable. We had to wait for more than 15 mins to get a table. Special mention to Mei at the reception. She was cordial, freindly and extremely helpful. Would also like to mention the names of Lovesh who made us fabulous cocktails at the club lounge and his colleagues Vikram and Yaseel with other staff made us welcome. Special mention also to the exceptionally knowledgable and experienced Mr Newton D'Souza who entertained us on the heritage tour.

Didn't expect to stand in a queue for breakfast in a world renowned hotel!

Undoubtedly the finest levels of service we have ever experienced. This was our first trip to the Taj and it delivered on all levels. From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much bother. A smile on all of their faces and constant "welcome sir, welcome madam, namaste" everytime we saw them. Alongside "Happy Holi", that was the time we visited, they was a constant high level of service to match. The room, food, front of house, housekeeping, all of the staff were nothing other than wonderful. Everyone made us so welcome. A business is only as good as the staff you employ. Clearly The Taj's management team have got it so right. I can't imagine how one would ever experience such high levels of service anywhere else. Thank you so much to the Taj and all of the staff for making us feel so welcome

Proximity of scenic places and all the staffs are so welcoming, helpful, kindhearted and always smiling. They always give good advice. I am really impressed by all the people working in Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Wonderful and tasty food. Even those working in the restaurant are too good. The atmosphere is clean, pure and soothing to the body, mind and soul. It has been a marvellous experience in staying in that 5 stars hotel and gives us the taste of palatial feelings. The sitarist and the guy playing the flute are so enchanting and enhance positiveness in the atmosphere. I am really amazed by the grandeur and beauty of the artistic decor of the hotel. The heritage tour was awesome.

I love everything.

The staff were incredibly friendly all of the time - constantly greeting you with a welcoming smile, asking how you are or how your day has been, engaging in conversations, and wanting to assist in any way that they can! I was also extremely impressed with how well they all spoke English! My room was cleaned, tidied and restocked at least 2 times a day. The buffet breakfast each morning had such a huge variety of everything and anything that you could think of, with beautiful views of the ocean. And I loved the newspaper hung on my door each morning in the little hessian bag - so cute! Room service was excellent - food was delivered in a timely manner, the service was exceptional and food was really tasty. For the $$ spent on accommodation per night, you expect the service to be exceptional but everything exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail was amazing - even the chauffeured vehicle to transfer me to the airport had water, refresher towels, mints, hand cream - and the driver was very lovely, we had a great chat! Some highlights of my stay - the gorgeous architecture and learning the history of the palace, my beautiful luxurious room, the guided tour of the Taj with our tour guide Mr. Prabhakar - I love his dedication and passion to the Taj, a retired chef who returned to carry out these tours, dinner by the pool being served by Shailesh, Hansika and their team - I had the lobster and it was absolutely amazing, being greeted by Choudhary at the elevator every day, and the friendly service generally by all of the staff - especially the lovely man at the X-Ray machine at the entrance, who would give me beautiful compliments every time I came in and out of the palace! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - 3 nights was not long enough!

There is nothing I can think of... I enjoyed everything about my stay! Maybe the cost of the rooms... but it was definitely worth the experience!
