Property sits on a hill with a view over a lovely valley. Though it is a large conference facility, we were there off-season and the hotel was nearly empty. The view from our room was over a well groomed lawn surrounded by trees and a distant peak of river. The lobby and lounge were very attractive and comfortable. The host was efficient and friendly as he managed his many duties as receptionist, bartender, restaurant host and server all with exceptional skill and humor. Dinner menu was limited, but the food was good. Included breakfast buffet was ample and served in a nice dining room.

Very nice location with a view, good place to start travelling through Norway, just above Oslo. The bar, lobby and restairant were nicely decorated with a balcony where you can even eat your breakfast on sunny days. Personell was friendly, even at very late check-in, so I can recommend this place!

The room was a bit small, but if you're on the road and only need a place for one night, the economy/basic room is just fine! Rooms/bathroom a bit outdated, but all seemed to work.

The personnel at the hotel were very good. super service all the way. the room was a little small and difficult to find at first, but the bed was fine. the breakfast was ok. the view from the hotel was magnificent, strange to find an hotel like this just above a normal residential area. didn't suspect that from the booking ad. Really enjoyed our stay

Breakfast was basic and very good buffet - Incl.in the price 700 for 2 persons is very cheap in Norway. Restaurant and bar price the evening was also very cheap, and good: 2 dinners, drink, coffee and 1 conjakk costet about 1000 NOK. A stop on a basic shopping center cafe on the way bac from ski day, the day after, very simple pizza and salad costet almost 2/3

Signs up from highway E6 a little difficult to see in the dark, and the day after, due to much snow and "brøytekanter" that covered the signs.

Scenic views, outside seating, great price and super breakfast.

The bedroom has no air conditioning. It was cooler outside than in the bedroom. Apparently this was a heat wave. All bedrooms should be air conditioned. I would have happily paid extra to get a nights sleep as opposed to a sauna. Great hotel otherwise

A true gem! A very well preserved time capsule from the early 70's. I'm usually not a big fan of 70's architecture, but whoever designed this hotel in 1972 knew what he/she was doing. Unlike most hotels from this era it is also very well maintained and preserved in its original form, with everything in perfect order and working as intended. Most hotels in this category would either be quite run down or "renovated" without any consideration for the original atmosphere (thus losing whatever charm it might once have possessed). Not so Honne. I was also very impressed with the two ladies working the reception ....and the dinner service ...and the breakfast service. How they cope with that work load, while still being extremely efficient and friendly is beyond me. Hats off! The same is probably true for the maintenance staff, which appears to take great pride in preserving this hotel in perfect condition and in its original form.

I'm struggling with this one. Perhaps the room (facing east) was a little bit too hot in the middle of the summer, and perhaps the beds were a bit too soft for our taste (but these are really very minor remarks).

The view from the terrace/breakfast room was amazing. Also, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The staff was beyond friendly - both at the check in, check out, breakfast and during night - very chatty and open. :) I accidentally broke the key to the room and felt so bad and the gentleman at the checkout assured me not to worry ("It is just plastic, we'll fix it").

The room was very tiny and the bed was too soft. But we did stay only one night and the lounge room was great to hang around. If you stay for one night, it is more than perfect.

The location. Peacefully purched in the hills just outside Lillehammer. Staff very helpful. Really relaxing with great views Traditional wooden main building is exceptionally maintained. The main building design alone is worth visiting as it's a great example of modern wooden architecture set in the hillside. Breakfast was good with a great choice for most Europeans

Beautiful location, nice rooms and great staff. We had some issues with our TV in the room, and the receptionist quickly provided a solution. We had a lovely stay, and definitely recommend staying at Honne Hotell!

Beautiful stay…pleasant staff…good breakfast…good size of the room…excellent for a peaceful relaxing stay, away from city hustle and bustle…wonderful lounge area, having complementary coffee/tea throughout the day…ample parking…beautiful views…loved our stay…
