Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was comfy, very nice bed and was really clean, the room had everything you needed, good facilities and a gorgeous location with a beautiful garden. There is a garage a 5 minute walk away if needed. The stay was very good value for money and I would definitely stay again.

Nothing major but if I was to really nit pick, the temperature on the shower was a little temperamental, had to balance it just right. Maybe some blinds on the doors instead of a curtain? Simply from an accessibility point of view it could be difficult for someone to reach the rail at the top of the door to unhook to cover the glass. But honestly everything was great! Would recommend.

Room and bathroom were both very clean and warm. Comfortable with everything in place.Table and chairs in room were a bonus and appreciated.Bar comfortable, would have been lovely to see the fire lit though it was warm. Wine excellent (Malbec red). No food due to staff issue but would visit again. The Denison pub 5 min walk away served amazing meals at a great price, excellent value. Staff friendly. The garden at East Ayton Lodge is wonderful with a lovely relaxed setting. Dog friendly, Toby had a very enjoyable stay.

Fire wasn`t lit in the bar on a cold Feb day/eve, would have been more welcoming. An offer of ordering takeaway would have been helpful, both would have kept us at the Hotel to eat and drink.

I was arriving quite late and needed a late check in. This was arranged easily and with no fuss. The room was made warm and ready for when I arrived. The whole stay was comfortable and the room quiet.

Only a very small thing. There was only an option to have the main light and the ones by the bed all on or all off. No option to isolate one or the other. I was travelling with young baby so this was a little inconvenient. But I suspect with an older building then options are limited, and as I say, only a very minor thing.

This was a quality place to stay. Room was a good size, bed was extremely comfortable, and bathroom and shower were excellent. Breakfast was great, and would satisfy anybody. However, the tv in the room didn’t work properly, and according to a staff member, this was known about. The web site did state that WiFi access was intermittent due to the hotel’s location, but I didn’t manage to log once during my stay. This wants looking at.

See above. Nit picking to a small extent, but if these were fixed, I would give a score of 100 out of 100 for the hotel.

The rooms were immaculate. There was tea and coffee and a television in the room and the decor and fittings were great. The food was lovely. We had tea there before we set out for the evening and it was delicious. In the morning we had breakfast which was great value at £12.50 each and was also very very nice. The staff were very nice and were there on hand to help if you needed it. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat as the place is in a lovely spot and is very nicely laid out for everyone. I only wish i could have stayed another night!!

Nothing loved my stay there!!

As soon as we approached the hotel we were utterly blown away by the beautiful grounds, the sound of birds, the little details like the bird feeder and outdoor decor. The staff were not only lovely but very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great suggestions for trips during our stay, which we actuallyused and enjoyed. The room itself was just amazing with a huge four poster bed overlooking the garden and gazebo. We loved that there was a separate little office area and hallway, and that the bathroom wasn't directly beside the room. We had so much space. The bathroom was incredible (and very much appreciated as we only have a shower at home), instantly running hot water. The dining area was lovely, the food delicious, and, again, wonderful staff. Despite being above the bar, the evenings were quiet and peaceful, and we saw a fox running through the garden. The perfect touch, for me, was the dog friendly aspect (we met Matilda, a staff member's dog!!) with dog statues and artwork dotted around the hotel. We will definitely stay again, and will bring our own dog with us!

Everything about the hotel was perfect. The only things that let down the room itself were silly, easy fixes. The toilet seat had come unscrewed on one side and was uncomfortable to use. We don't blame the hotel staff for this, these things happe. We initially thought the mattress was uneven and dipped on one side, until we realised the floor was slightly uneven. The room overlooked the busy garden and there was no blind or voile at the window to avoid flashing anyone outside, so we chose to dress in the bathroom. And, again, a silly and easy fix, it was very difficult to watch TV from anywhere on the bed as the tall bed posts got in the way. We tried to sit on the sofa at the foot of the bed, but that also obscured the view due to the corner angle of the TV.

We stayed in room 11 with the 4 poster bed, we loved the room however the mattress on the bed was extremely soft which wasn’t the best for me and my husband couldn’t sleep on it at all so slept on the sofa. I would probably recommend that the mattress be changed to one that is a bit firmer. The room got really warm during the night given it was July so having a fan in the room would have helped. The hotel was in a lovely setting and was a beautiful building with beautiful decoration. The breakfast in the morning was really enjoyable and the staff were very helpful.

The hotel has big parking. The rooms are big and clean, well equipped. We liked that they managed to fullfill our reuqest to have our rooms next to each other. The yard was very well kept. The bathrooms vere good

The lady just gave us the keys and explained where the rooms are, but didn't come with us to show us around. The rooms are on the second floor, accessible by an outdoor staircase and veranda. The WiFi on the second floor was terrible - I had to go on the yard in front of the restaurant during the night. The food in the restaurant wasn't superb.

Two couples enjoyed a second visit to this wonderful hotel and couldn't recommend it enough. Staff very accommodating.Stayed in the main lodge in superior four poster bed rooms as a treat for my husbands birthday and we were not disappointed. Had everything we needed and more. Rooms were beautiful. Sunday lunch was accompanied with a birthday treat of a lovely bottle wine. Wine and lunch were superb. Breakfast next morning was hot and delicious. Couldn't fault anything . The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our weekend break. Thankyou so much and I'm sure we'll make a return visit.

Nothing to dislike. We don't usually stay in premises that allow pets but we found no problems with our stay..Pet owners stayed in courtyard accommodation which looked very nice and pets could accompany owners in bar, for food and drinks, but not in restaurant .

I feel that the hotel needs to offer more coffee options. This is the first place I have been where a latte or cappuccino etc are not available. Investing in a coffee machine would be an asset as after long country walks, a nice hot drink is most welcoming. Also, a grab rail in showers may be an idea as it is very slippy . The breakfastwas lovelybut feltit was let down by poor quality sausages.
