Our room had direct pool access, which was great not having to go up the stairs. The grounds & pool were clean, tidy, not overgrown and gave a very nice holiday feel. Our accommodation was very well equip with everything we needed. Great size for 2 adults & three children and a 12 minute walk to the esplanade. We really loved our accommodation and will stay again here next time we visit. Simple check in/check out process. Staff were friendly and even gave us a couple of extra washing powder sachets as were had run out and were due to check out the next day, so saved us buying a big tub from the supermarket.

There was some mould (nothing super bad) in the showers, but I would say that was due to the exhaust fans in the bathrooms not working. It certainly won't stop us from staying again, and i 100% still recommend Gataway. It's just part of being in the tropics.

Our room was large and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the pool. The beds were comfortable and facilities in the room were great. The accommodation was walking distance to the centre of the city, close to restaurants and shops. We had room to park our hire car and the pool was well-maintained and refreshing.

We had a couple of noisy neighbours during our stay, but that can happen anywhere. The apartment was clean, but not as clean as it could have been, such as dark patches along the edges of the floors, close to the walls and behind doors.

Located within a short distance from Cairns Lagoon and all other amenities, this property is a delight for any traveller. The apartment was split-level - living room and kitchen at one level and two bedrooms with attached bathrooms above. Balcony at each level was spacious, had outdoor furniture, and plenty of sunlight. The kitchen was fully equipped and we cooked our meals for a couple of days. Sofas and TV added to the convenience. Laundry facilities were a delight to have. Though we did not use the swimming pool, there was one available. It was a decent acco and we loved it. You need to clean the rubbish before you leave. They do supply some tea bags, but that's only for a day or so. You need to get your own stuff.

Nothing much to mention. It'd have been great if the tiles floor of living room were a bit more cleaner. But not that bad that we could complain of.

We stayed 2 weeks at Getaway on Grafton and we were very surprised to receive an email while we were staying there. The email advised us that Once the teabags and coffee sachets were used we should go to a shop to purchase more ourselves. Plus as we were there for 2 weeks and there were 3 Adults once the 2 toilet rolls were used we had to go and buy more. I feel the apartment we stayed in needed a good spring clean the louvre blinds and ceiling fans were all very dusty.

Was a bonus to have a temperate swimming pool. We used the pool and BBQ a number of times. The dials on the BBQ require replacing as their position does not reflect if the BBQ is turned on or off or the heat setting. Unit freshly painted

Unit 5. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms do not appear to work. Even with the door open in the second bathroom the room still steamed up following a shower. We were assured by the Manager the exhaust fans were working. We attempted to use the stove but due to the deterioration of the dial and display was unable to use as could not decipher what was on or off. Simple written instructions would have been good also. Unit was self contained and contained a lot of items, but a new cutlery set would be good as knives were blunt.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel! The room was very clean, which made it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The quiet location was perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay, away from any noise or distractions. On top of that, the staff were outstanding—always friendly, attentive, and eager to help with anything I needed. I truly appreciated the care and professionalism throughout my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!

My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall, but unfortunately, the mattress was much too firm, making it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. While the room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, the hard mattress significantly affected my sleep.

The location is excellent - close to town but in a quiet area. Rooms are comfortable, kitchen is well-equipped, and the wifi is solid. We made use of the laundry machine, which was much appreciated. Also, the office staff is excellent - I asked one of the girls at the desk for some ideas on places to go (we hadn't planned much beyond diving), and she gave us top-notch recommendations.

Note that they don't heat the spa during the summer, which was strange - no one expects a spa to be chilly!

Price, location was really good for me, it had everything I wanted. I travel to Cairns regularly for weekends to visit my daughters who stay with me. After giving up my unit a couple of years ago, I have been looking for somewhere to stay regularly and have tried a lot of different places. This one is by far the best value for money with the standard I am looking for. I have stayed in much cheaper AirBNBs but they are not of a high enough standard to be comfortable.

The room itself and the facilities were excellent, unfortunately due to circumstances beyond the owners control, we had very disturbed sleep each night . This is due to a gathering of locals who hung out across the road and played loud music at night into the early hours , roamed around speaking loudly and yelling. I feel sorry that I’m unable to score our stay a 10 because of these people. It certainly deserved the best rating.

Apart from the locals, everything was great. Well equipped apartment and spotless.

Great location within easy walking distance to city centre, car parking available on site for those with cars. Big appartment with well-equipped kitchen for self-catering and near to Coles supermarket and local market for buying produce. Comfortable bed, hot shower, kitchen, dining and lounge area in same large space with personal balcony outside - great for watching the changing sky and bird life flying in the skies (especially the flying foxes at dawn or dusk). Pool available for guests to use for safe refreshing swim on relaxation in the spa pool. Friendly staff who shared their knowledge of local places to visit and trips available. Possible to book with many different organisations for trips to see the Barrier Reef by boat and or air (small plane or helicopter flight). The beach side promenade was nice to walk along to see the views over the beach, creative sculptures, information boards and/or beach front restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nothing negative to say about this property. All was good.
