Staff was very welcome and polite. We asked to show us our room before we pay for it and they easily did that. Bed was very clean (for it's price it was perfect!). We stayed 2 nights, when we came back to stay a 2nd night bed was cleaned, we got new towels, and they also cleaned our staff. We left a room during a day a bit messy, I mean our suitcase was opened and some stuff was on a bed drawers. They have cleaned it, they put our things neatly, packed the food (the chips were open, and they closed them), put the shoes and the suitcase nicely under the wall. There was a four dollar coins on the nightstand by the bed, they didn't take it, even though they might have thought it was a tip (don't worry, we left the tip when we left), so a service is excellent.

The only thing was, they didn't have a shampoo, only soap for hands. But when I asked if they have one or if I can buy some from them, they said they don't have any but they advice me to go to the gas station (which is literally 100m from them) and buy it there. So it wasn't a big deal

Parking right outside the door, great price and very handy to picking up something to eat/drink in the room or dining in at the Bistro.

We had two rooms booked to accommodate the family. One room was left unlocked after the cleaners had been through… but I realised how easy this was to happen because when I left the next day I thought I’d locked it but you needed to really pull it shit (room 5). Was not a big deal as I had next to nothing in the room and nothing of any particular value

Room was clean, tidy, you can park right outside the room door. Tv was modern (I hooked up what I needed with hdmi). Wifi is free and powerful enough. Shower is exceptionally good, better than I have at home. Mini fridge was cold. It’s everything you need if you’re travelling through the area. I’ve stayed in a few joints around the lake and this one’s the cheapest and equal par with places $50 more expensive per night.

Only thing I wasn’t over the moon with was the food availability in the bar isn’t a full menu, it’s a bar menu. But this is due to my assumption that it was a full restaurant so by no means the property’s fault. The food quality was good though. Also be aware they clean your room if staying more than one night. I felt bad I’d left my sh*t messy and some poor cleaner had to organise it. They did a great job though.

We stayed 2 nights for a quick stop over. Very basic but great value for money. Beds were comfortable. Room was very quiet even though it’s at the back of a hotel we didn’t hear a thing and also very clean. Air conditioning worked well. Very hot showers. Room also has a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Parking is good and they also have spaces to park for trailers. There are shops close by within driving distance.

It’s a shame you can’t enter the driveway from both directions, but not much of a hassle to drive up further and do a u turn or drive around the block.

Although basic, the room was very clean and tidy, and quite suitable for us for our one night stay. Beds are comfortable enough. There is a small selection of pub meals available on site

The bathroom is incredibly tiny The only available power point to charge your phones/laptop etc was at the ceiling. The aircon turned off every couple of hours, it's very hot without external airflow. Couldnt work out if there was a timer. Bathroom light/fan switch is touchy and doesn't always function (room 10)

It is what their website claims - a good 3 star attached to a pub. On Sun, Mon the pub clientele were 50+ all male... but, likeable and friendly locals. Bottle shop was also well run and reasonably priced. Perfect for my mission of buying a car from adjacent Pickles auctions. Locals gave good advice on where to find banks, motor registry, etc. Bar menu fish & chips and seafood basket were excellent.

Was raining heavily. The awnings and eaves almost do it... but, some awnings to bridge the gaps would be a nice touch.

Our stay at Gateshead Tavern and Motel was beyond our expectations. Typically, motels are fairly dodgy with thin walls however this motel was brilliant, allowing for our 1:30am check-in, providing clean facilities, and friendly staff.

Our singular complaint was the sheets and towels, while it was clear that they were washed, when we first arrived they weren't quite dry which was a bit uncomfortable. Furthermore, there was a smell to the room which was mildly unpleasant.

The exceptional value and reasonable pricing of this hotel stood out, especially amidst the inflated rates during the Pink Concert event. The staff were extremely friendly, assisting us in locating public transport, and the food was fabulous - we enjoyed a $10 pizza that we almost couldn’t finish between the two of us. Despite the room being a typical motel setup, it met our expectations precisely as described, and the incredibly tidy accommodations made it easy to overlook any basic amenities.

I have no complaints about this hotel; it was exactly as described. Excellent parking, close to transport, and for the value, we had nothing to complain about.

Perfect location, central to everything we needed. Staff were lovely and helpful. Felt safe and secure. Access to laundry was great.

Was hoping to have good pub meals from the Tavern but the very basic ‘bar menu’ was pretty ordinary. They just airfry everything behind the bar and slap it together. No hairdryer or iron in room. There was an ironing board though.

We had to go to Newcastle on very short notice in peak Xmas holiday period & were very lucky to find Gateshead Tavern. The rooms were basic but clean & comfortable with ample parking. It was a pleasant surprise to find a place that never ripped people off by jacking up their prices in peak season so pass on our thanks to management

Maybe a couple more pillows in the room as my wife & I both use 2 but that is nothing to whinge about
