A very clean and understated experience. From the room ,which was immaculate, and kept that way by the polite, engaging and detail oriented staff to the location, a great stay. The location is steps from the Harbor/Empress. The room was very nice, and modern (nice new bathroom, plenty of charging, Nespresso in room) with plenty of room for 2 of us, and the location was an excellent location for all things Victoria and beyond. The attached restaurant, The Courtney Room, was also excellent (he had breakfast there the 1st morning). In the end , the staff were the most important part of our stay - helpful, friendly and genuine

Victoria seemed to be doing street paving overnight, so some noise , but nothing too serious

Loved the lobby and extra touches - coffee, apples, fire place newspaper, and AMAZING flowers My room details - chocolates, turndown, Frette linens and Occitane products were very much appreciated... love those products. Also a lovely surprise on sat evening to have a glass of bubbles to celebrate my time in Victoria. I loved that the lobby feels like a drawing room in my home that I could enjoy at the end of an evening. As someone travelling alone I felt comfortable. Am stealing the idea of lighting under the vanity in the bathroom - so helpful as hotel bathrooms don't have night lights usually - and motion sensored even cleverer.

Only one tiny point - please can there be a yoga mat in the gym.

Fantastic hotel. Clearly the best during our road trip to Canada and the PNW. From our arrival to our departure everything was perfect. We had a very spacious corner room that was beautifully appointed and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The restaurant, The Courtney Room was outstanding for breakfast and we were fortunate enough to enjoy the tasting menu with pairing wines at dinner which was incredible. By far the best meal on our trip. Location was ideal. The hotel was recommended by friends in Australia and we are so grateful they did. First class!

The location was great and staff friendly and helpful. The room was nice and very large.

The TV remote didn't work properly, and it was fixed after the first night. I had received messages prior to our stay letting me know about rooms in the hotel that had large showers with a bench, which would be better for my senior Mom and I was asked if that was what we wanted. I said yes, but then there was no availability for that room. I understand the situation. It's odd to be asked if I wanted that only to find out it wasn't available. Not a complaint, just an observation.

Such a cute hotel! All staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby always had little snacks or drinks. The room itself was spacious with a seating area with 2 lounge chairs. The bathroom was great, it looked fairly newly renovated and modern. Overall it is a lovely hotel with a great location. I would definitely stay again!

The bed was quite small. I think it might have been a double size? I am used to at least queen size in hotels. The mattress felt as if it was slanting into the middle of the bed.

Loved this boutique hotel - had breakfast here 4 times - friendly, young staff...the yogurt +fruit option was excellent & blueberry muffins recommended by our waitress were perfect! Surprisingly, housekeeping WAS offered daily - a rarity these days! Valet parking worked well, beds were comfy, and Dyson hairdresser was another unexpected luxury!! Great location which was ideal for visiting BC museum, for strolling along Government St & for dining twice at Frankie's Modern Diner at the corner!! Don't miss the Craigdarrough Castle - perfect use of our one rainy day!!

The hotel was conveniently located to points of interest in a safe clean area of the city. The interior spaces were beautifully appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were superb. We felt very relaxed and at home with two comfortable occasional chairs and ottoman where we could enjoy a drink and our morning coffee. Our en-suite was beautiful, with a soaker tub and separate shower. Equipped with a hair dryer and makeup mirror. I really appreciated the night light that activated when you opened the door.

Can’t think of anything.

This is a beautiful property. So happy that we booked this hotel. I have never come across staff like the staff at this hotel. They couldn’t have been more helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. Our room was huge and beautiful. The hotel also offers fresh coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day. There’s also little extras like healthy fruit flavored water in the lobby and a big bowl of apples. The gym was very nice with filtered water to refill water bottles. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant. However, we did visit their bar twice for happy hour and snacks. If you are traveling to Victoria, don’t think of staying anywhere else except this hotel, if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation. Also, the hotel is only a block or two from the waterfront. Location is perfect for visiting the main attractions in the area.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We didn’t use the spa but several locals told us they had the best messages ever at the Magnolia. It was our anniversary and they upgraded our room to a corner suite. After we got back from dinner the first night, there was a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room. We had amazing views of the harbor and the parliament building. There are tons of really great restaurants in walking distance. We also loved the nightly turndown service which included chocolates every night and a fresh bottle of drinking water. We would definitely stay at the Magnolia again!

No dislikes, pretty happy with our whole stay.

well-maintained upscale hotel in central victoria with better value than the more famous local competitor around the corner. rooms are very comfortable, clean and partially with beautiful views on the parliament building. the on-site restaurant is beautifully furnished and offered high-quality dishes plus friendly service.

the present staff was quite unbothered by both our arrival and departure - there was no welcome or goodbye, no assistance with our luggage, no water provided. a bit more attention to these details could make quite a difference on the overall impression.
