We received a very open and warm welcome. The children and we were made to feel very welcome. The pub is cosy and the company nice. The rooms were lovingly decorated, everything was comfortable and clean. Dinner was also available. The beds were comfortable and everything else was very comfortable. Delicious breakfast in the morning by arrangement in original English, with fresh eggs. Such lovely hosts and an incredibly nice village. Joking with the children, all very positive. From there to Stonehenge - free of charge as an English Heritage member - was definitely worth it. We would come back again! Best regards!

Everything was fine!

The actual rooms are separate to the Barleycorn inn pub itself so there’s no worry of being kept up late. The twin room we had was decorated nicely, super clean and had been thought about down to the small detail like sanitary products being available and a portable, standing make up mirror (something I always miss in hotel rooms!). Breakfast was also lovely, filling and catered for me being a vegetarian !. Really happy with this overnight stay. It is a lovely little place and the owner was warm and talking with us over breakfast too, an added little bit of comfort!

Room was v.comfortable & quiet - full English breakfast was one of the best we had had - good home produced sausasages/eggs/bacon and evident in the overall flavour - and being cooked to an arranged slot as we sat down. Hosts were friendly / down to earth and there was no corporate pretentiousness - refreshing to stay with straightforward human beings able to have a chat about anything over breakfast. Only disappointment was we half intended to take an evening meal but opted for down the road instead which didn't go well - now want to go back so we can try their farm produced fare. Well done The Barlyercorn & Thank you.

Extraordinarily friendly landlord and all the staff. Really felt comfortable and at home from the beginning. The siting was 100% ideal for what we wanted to do. The timings were flexible and suited us perfectly. We look forward to returning within the next two or three months.

Nothing needed improving with the service nor friendliness. The work is ongoing to improve the grounds but even so, it has a charm which cannot be replicated.

The room was cosy, clean, and comfortable, supplying a good selection of tea, coffee, and biscuits! Large bathroom also supplied complimentary shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. They even supplied a hairdryer, which was a bonus for my wife! It was really hot weather when we stayed and they had provided the room with a fan which was a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing, really good quality food! Eggs were perfectly cooked. The owners were friendly and made you feel welcome.

That we only booked to stay for one night!

Lovely staff, extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable room, pleasant bar area in the pub. Food was tasty, nicely presented and generous portions, we never did manage to fit in anything more than ice cream for pudding!

It would have helped to have a shelf in the bathroom for shampoo, lotions, toothpaste etc.

The room was clean with comfy bed and space outside to sit and relax. Staff in the pub were very friendly, easy to talk to (as were the locals) and the food was very good but a bit much for me (so good sized portions). A good spot to stop over.

The new owners Tom & Terry along with their son Dexter & other staff have been incredibly welcoming, really helpful with great recommendations of places to visit, as a single traveler with my dog their local knowledge is an asset and they honestly made me feel so at home. The rooms are clean, tidy, comfortable and homely. The food is amazing especially Toms home grown sausagea! The two dogs and chickens are inquisitive and friendly too, I will definitely be back 😊

A very warm welcome and attentive service from all the staff. Good beer and lovely pub-grub. Staying at the Barleycorn reminded me of how pubs used to be - full of locals enjoying lively conversation, dogs lying by the log fire and a happy atmosphere.

Comfortable bed in a nice ground floor room. Terry and Tom were welcoming and provided a fab breakfast. Parking on site in front of the room was a bonus.

Property was very good. It would have been nice to have peppermint, green or jasmine tea available.
