I don't even know where to begin. This isn't a backpackers' hostel as you might imagine — it's a truly special, unique, and atypical place. A place of dreams and wonders, a place of beauty. You come here and suddenly you want to stay forever instead of going out sightseeing 😄 The couple who owns the place is absolutely lovely. And everyone here is SO quiet and respectful — I heard nothing but silence and whispers, even at 9 pm, even at 9 am... In my room, there was a young guy, around 18, who told me he came here after six horrendous nights in another hostel that was only $5 cheaper per night — a place where he'd lived in constant, noisy hell. He was so moved to finally have a peaceful night’s sleep, in such an exceptional setting, that he was on the verge of tears. People, come here if you're traveling solo, as a couple, or as two friends looking for peace, quiet joy, beauty, happiness… and sleep! If you're a loud, rowdy group of party-goers with booze in hand — please, kindly stay somewhere else :'D

The bathrooms were very clean, I liked that you could get a fresh beach towel everyday. The wifi didn't work on my first day, but after that there were no issues, it was fast. I loved the atmosphere, very chill and laid back, it was easy to meet new people. You can stay longer after check-out until 12 or pay extra 5aud and stay until 17 and they provide luggage storage.
It's just small things really. Something to note more that complain about. There is a small additional charge for laundry and AC in the room, but it's not big (1-5aud). The front desk isn't open between 12-16:30, which was a bit hard to navigate sometimes.

If all hostels were like this I would never stay at anyplace other than a hostel. You start to relax once you enter the property due to the helpful staff and tropical grounds. The owner helped set up a dive trip I was interested in and provided me with towels to take aboard that I needed to bring. The room while not large was very comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen areas were always clean indicating that the other guests were being respectful of the rules. The common areas is very comfortable and great to chill and hangout at. They also have washers and dryers and a nice pool to relax by.
I didn't stay longer

Loved the tropical oasis vibe. Everyone was really friendly, staff and guests. Provided a helpful orientation to Cairns. Staff even popped a dollar into our aircon unit one night which was kind. Bat's and bird flying overhead, and the outdoor areas were lovely to spend time despite the ever present rain. They also helped me book my day tour snorkeling on the GBR, as well as the sky rail, which was helpful.
I throughly enjoyed my stay, the following is simply some helpful feedback, I would definitely stay again!Based on the photos I thought there would be more seated lounge areas. Lamps next to the beds would be nice. Saturday night was really busy, and Sunday morning it took a while to find an available bathroom. Would be great if Bathrooms had more surface area to place your toiletries. Kitchens are small.

I had a private room with a fridge. There was air conditioning and a fan. There were two bathrooms with showers down the hall and more in other spots but there was always one of these available. There were two kitchen areas available and a barbecue. There was a pool. It was very clean with a staff that cleaned and disinfected each room between guests. I was able to book two tours from the office. It is right near the train station.
One morning a cockroach jumped onto my head and ran down my arm. I was able to catch it in a drawer and throw it outside - I don't blame the place, they were very clean. The walls were thin which was not a problem my first night but the second nigh my neighbor was talking on the phone well into the morning until I went and knocked on the door. There is not staff available on-site outside of certain hours.

The whole experience of staying at Traveller's Oasis was brilliant. I've stayed in many hostels over the years and this is hands down the best one. As soon as you walk through the gate there is a whole host of fun artwork and things to look at, and the gorgeous pool is a very welcoming sight in the heat! There is a relaxed and welcoming ambience that is hard to create but it feels effortless here, and we wish we could have stayed longer. The facilities are clean and well-equipped, and the outdoor rain shower is an absolute must! Great location near a Woolies and also close to the departure point for the Karunda scenic railway which was ideal. Couldn't recommend staying here more!
Nothing!

Literally a little oasis for travellers! I took a private room, and it was decorated with care, the double bed (and 4 pillows) was comfortable, and there was even a little sink in the room. Plenty of shared bathrooms and showers. The kitchens have all the necessary appliances and everything is kept clean and tidy. I really loved it! There is a desk for booking tours if you need, I booked mine for Daintree forest following their recommendations and it was a lovely day, with a knowledgeable and very funny/kind guide.

1. Both the front desk and the staff are very friendly. Kathy will help solve the demands you put forward. There is a very nice young lady at the front desk. When you don't know the place, she will take you there in person. A slightly older staff member sees that you are going downstairs to check out and helps take the luggage down the stairs. It makes people feel very warm here. 2. The rooms, toilets and kitchens are tidied up very cleanly. 3. This accommodation is arranged very warmly. 4. The check-in and check-out processes are arranged in an orderly manner and you can handle them by yourself. 5. The bed and the quilt are comfortable to sleep in.
1. There may be very small ants coming into the room. Be careful not to leave sweet things uncovered and placed, which will attract more. 2. 2. Pay attention to the battery power of the safe. If there is no power, it won't be able to be opened. If it can't be opened, go to the front desk. They will definitely help you deal with it. 3. The room is not soundproof. If you have prepared sleep earplugs yourself, there will be no impact at all. 4.The door of Room 5 is difficult to close.

Charismatic backpackers, clean room, good location but it is a 10-15 min walk into town. Supermarket and shopping centre around the corner, though.
Broken door (didn't lock). Fixed it myself with an improvised solution but it needs a new lock. Biggest issue is the bathroom situation. It's a charming old house which comes with just a few bathrooms. That makes you constantly looking for a vacant bathroom, especially during peak times. If everyone has a shower in the morning you are screwed. Separate toilets would make it much more comfortable.

I have never stayed in a better hostel than this one. Everything is just perfect - the organization, the cleanliness, the comfort, the facilities (pool, several kitchens and communal areas, amazing outdoor showers, yoga lawn, laundry), the dorms (lots of space and places to put your stuff, super comfy beds), the check in and out processes, etc. The owners are always there and looking out for you with whatever you may need. This makes it really special and you don t feel like staying in a typical hostel but rather with family and friends. I loved that there are several houses with kitchen, bathrooms and only a few doorms each and the to the needs designed and carefully selected and decorated outdoor areas. I was sad to leave after only 2 nights! Thank you for making my stay so very much enjoyable!
