Location was great (walking distance to everything), room was very clean and spacious. Team regularly cleaned room and restocked amenities. Friday happy hour was really good + daily breakfast was fresh. Pool was great too :)

King bed was 2 mattresses pushed together which created a large gap - bed wasn’t as comfortable as hoping. Very noisy when other guests in hallways/shutting doors + woken up at 5am some days due to garbage collectors etc given room location on the property which I wish we were made aware of.

Breakfast was value for money the staff at breakfast need to be a little more pleasant, and not to put out fruit bread just with there hands need gloves!! Or tongs wasn’t impressed!

Staff at breakfast the boys needed a good shake up and need to be more pleasant and hygienic!!our room was disappointing as it’s advertised with balcony and chairs it was just a sliding door you couldn’t get a chair out there !I tried to contact booking twice to talk to them about it as it was false advertising! I’m still waiting to hear from them !! Not good ,I complained to the staff about it after a couple of nights they moved us to a room with a balcony which was very good of them , was very disappointing with bookings.com not replying to any emails,we book with them all the time still waiting for a response!!😣

Secure entry, clean and comfortable. Amazing staff who accommodated us at very short notice and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and safe after a previous booking we arrived at made us feel unsafe and we didn’t even bother getting out of the car. Here the foyer is secure and well lit, and the rooms were away from the street and inaccessible to the public. The staff member was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and put my mind at ease immediately. Even gave me a room upgrade too! Overall I really enjoyed my stay here the bed was the most comfy bed I’ve slept in for a long time! I would definitely stay again next time I’m in Cairns.

NOT THE PROPERTYS FAULT….The music from the street can be on the loud side but it isn’t the hotels fault, just thought I would mention it in case you are a light sleeper you may find this annoying. The only downside I have would be the cost of breakfast for my two children aged 12 & 13. They were charged the adult rate of $30 each. In my opinion I don’t think that is a fair and accurate price point for a child. They both only had a couple of pastry’s and some toast. It would be great to have a children’s price or a family. I understand that this is hard to manage and easier to just have a flat fee. The breakfast was as you would expect for a continental breakfast, nothing out of the ordinary. The options were all well presented, fresh, well stocked and the space was clean.

We loved it here,was in a great spot,close to everything to walk round and sight see. Beautifully decorated,the staff were amazing and helpful. The breakfast was lovely,well worth it. We will definitely stay here again. We stopped here overnight on the way to japan and stayed on the way back for a few days. It was a great way to wind down and relax after our big trip. Nice and close to the airport, too, so it was affordable to get a taxi with all our luggage. The bed was amazingly comfortable,the room was spacious, and the bathroom was beautiful .

There was no laundry detergent available for purchase,but that's literally all we can think of. Didn't want to buy a full box for a few days stay.

We booked The Benson Hotel for its proximity to the Convention centre. The hotel has been beautifully renovated. The room itself was clean, beds very comfortable, fabulous pillows. The bathroom is well appointed with a lovely shower with great water pressure! The exhaust in the bathroom worked well enough to shave after showering without having to wipe the mirror. It's worth mentioning because 95% do not! The lifts are ok. The Restaurant and bar are very nice... The food was great. The second night we stayed (Sunday) the bar and restaurant were closed😒, But the Benson sits in a good Location, there are some great choices for food and drinks in the area. I have just one other "knock" parking pricing of $25 a night??? tad steep!

Position absolutely outstanding, very central, 10 mins walk from the heart of cairns. Hotel looks from outside a little bit “easy”, but rooms and dining rooms are very fancy, very cool. New building, very clean, absolutely for the price rock the experience. Staff really nice, everyone really.

Breakfast is standard, nothing special. $30 is pretty ok for the offer, not too many choices to be honest, classic English style breakfast with mushrooms and hash browns. Every juices have kilos of ice, not everybody like it, but I understand helps with costs. Same if you ask a cappuccino and you must pay an extra for it. That’s why on 7 days, I decided only for 1 time only.

The bed was comfy and the bathroom while small was clean and well stocked - the body wash and hair products were lovely. The location was great as it was within walking distance of everything you need.

Couldn't watch tv as the internet was out - I expected to be able to at least watch local channels but they were not available either. I was disappointed the restaurant/cafe wasn't open except for Friday and Saturday which is no help when you stay any other day of the week - the rooms should be cheaper when these facilities are not available. The car parking drive in and out was ridiculous - you have to drive on the opposite side of the road ie. you must drive in on the right lane around a 90 degree corner to your right to then go through the entry gate - glad I didn't have my 4wd as it never would of made it, as it was we hade to do a 3 point turn to get in the gate.

The location was great, walking distance to everything in the city centre, staff were friendly & helpful. A beautiful hotel that has undergone an upgrade, pool area is nice at night, the bar on level 3 holds events on weekends if you don't want to leave the hotel which is convenient. Overall, we had a great stay at the Benson.

The damp smell in and around the room and hotel, the aircon needs to be plastered but then gets too cold, so a constant on/off, open & shut doors was a given, and the pillows don't feel good.

I recently stayed at the Benson Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly lovely and helpful, making me very welcomed. My room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The pool was a fantastic spot to relax, and the bar and restaurant offered an amazing dining experience. I highly recommend the Benson Hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and enjoyable stay!

this is a very minor thing, there is no room to sit on the veranda although loved that you can open the door to allow fresh air into the room and able to stand out on the veranda.

Top quality hotel. Spotlessly clean, great location, very comfortable beds, soft sheets. Great pool.

1. The "hot" food wasn't hot at all. Some of it was actually cold. The small metho-powered burners under the bain-maries were useless. This really detracted from the otherwise nice breakfast. I invite them to take something from the bain-marie, place it on a plate, and point one of those laser temperature sensors at it, to read the exact temperature. I think they'll be shocked just how cold their "hot" food is. 2. The room lights were the harsh "cool white" lamps which make for an unpleasant atmosphere. They need to fit the rooms with "warm white" lamps, especially since these are bedrooms!
