Very nice basement apartment in a quiet, yet convenient residential area facing a small marina. The hosts, Arjan and Laura, are wonderful and helpful people. The breakfast was good and enough food, with croissants, juice, eggs, and fruit. WiFi was strong. Good restaurants within easy walking distance. Only 15 minute walk to the train station and river ferry, and 2 blocks to the tram downtown, too. Only a km or so to the Jordaan area over peaceful walkways. Arjan and Laura arranged a discounted taxi from the airport, which was helpful to get there.

No problem for us, but people with mobility issues should be aware that the steps down into the basement are a little tricky, with a low railing and short steps.

Walk in shower, good size open plan lounge with dining table, useful kitchenet with fridge, kettle and sink. Short walk to city centre but not too short. Host was very friendly and helpful, advise on places of interest and restaurants. Provided a lovely continental breakfast each morning. Staff in all the cafes and restaurants were very friendly with excellent service.

Museums were all booked out, only doing online booking, which were booked out for weeks in advance. In hindsight we should have book months in advance of our visit. Streets would be difficult to navigate if you had mobility restrictions, need to watch out for cyclists.

Laura and Aryan were superb hosts. They were a font of information and ably directed us to the proper transportation to the places we wished to go. There are some excellent restaurants within easy walking distance of the B&B, and taxis have no trouble finding the house. The breakfasts were tasty and healthy with great bread and fruit and the minibar was well-stocked. Money well spent!!

Sometimes the street noise intrudes and the entrance steps a very steep.

Our accommodations were almost perfect! We were very fortunate to get a last minute booking as the hosts had just received a cancellation. Arjan and Laura were so warm and welcome! The breakfast that arrived every morning was top notch! Fresh croissants from the bakery nearby, soft boiled eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, juice and cappuccinos. The apartment was very comfortable and the attention to detail was greatly appreciated! They even had postcards of their picturesque neighborhood and mailed them for us (complimentary). The location was quiet but very close to City Centre and the bus to the Centraal station was just a few blocks away.

I’m am an Airbnb superhost and was able to chat with Arjan and Laura about their lovely accommodations. I picked up a few tips from them as well. As a previous review already mentioned, the rain shower was awesome but some shelving for soap and shampoo would be helpful. Nothing else really. Definitely book this apartment if you are lucky to find availability. Actually, I would even move your vacation days to get the pleasure of staying here!

We were greeted warmly from the start. Arjan and Laura treat you like family. They helped us with transportation, dinner reservations, and directions. And what a beautiful breakfast: Delicious cappuccino, fresh-squeezed orange juice, freshly baked croissants, a perfect soft-boiled egg. Plus assorted cheeses, breads, and fruits. Our little apartment was comfortable and cozy. Our bed very comfortable. And the amazing rain shower! We had an early flight out of Amsterdam, and to our surprise, they were there with a send-of of cappuccinos to go!

If I have to come up with something, let's see...how about a soap dish for the shower? Seriously, we have no complaints.

We loved everything about the property. If you’re looking for a unique experience book Arjan and Laura’s island home build in 1647! The location is terrific. We walked to restaurants and were also treated to a boat ride to a restaurant which was special.

Absolutely nothing. Great breakfast, two TV’s, terrific shower. Cute little apartment. Couldn’t ask for more.

Excellent, quiet location outside of the city center yet convenient to many locations by foot with tram and bus easily accessible. Excellent hosts and delicious breakfasts. They went out of their way to help in any way possible and were responsive to any requests.

The steep Amsterdam stairs could use some light at night, and the low bed was a bit tight on space.

The breakfast was plentiful and brought in a basket to the rooom every morning by Laura. The location was perfect for our needs - in a quiet, picturesque neighbourhood among little islands in the canals - but an easy walk along the canals into the city centre. The room is in the basement of a typical tall Amsterdam house - you have a kitchenette/living room and a comfortable bedroom with a great rainfall shower room, all done out very traditionally in dark wood - it felt very homely.

The lady who was greeting us, as the owners were away, was absolutely lovely, so friendly, helpful, warm and inviting. We loved the basket of goodies for breakfast which was a really nice touch and loved, loved, loved the shower, it was the best shower I have ever used. little walk into the busier areas of Amsterdam. Overall a great stay.

if you are sensitive to noise (We don't mind) you can hear footsteps upstairs and the little air con box by the front door can make a noise sparodically and the stairs to the apartment are small and steep. However this did not let it stop it being a wonderful property for us. It was a lovely place to stay.

the property was really private and a nice and quiet location not too far from the bustle of the city centre. fantastic comfy bed, lovely sofa and kitchen area and large tv

would have been useful to have a microwave as day 2 we were on an coach trip all day and picked up some bits at the supermarket and ate in the apartment instead of eating out - would have been fab to heat something up, instead we had breads, cheeses and ham etc
