The staff were amazing and the Galway girl could not do enough for me. She was the best ever!

The room was super clean and cozy. Couldn't fault it. You felt very welcomed by Serina on arrival. The pub itself is lovely with different areas, depending what you like. The drinks were very reasonable and the staff serving were very friendly. We also had a pizza delivered to our table in the pub from a nearby take away which is something that is encouraged. That was delicious too. The tube station is only 5 minutes away. We would not hesitate to book again

The only thing that was not good for me on a personal level was the bathroom lights being on a sensor as everytime my husband used the bathroom, the lights woke me up. But it's a good energy saving idea as the lights can't be left on by accident. They weren't bright lights, very subtle, but im a light sleeper

We walked into a lovely well presented pub, and were greeted warmly , by the staff and regulars. Checked in swiftly and shown the access to our room for after hours. The room itself was delightful. Clean, spacious and well equipped. A comfy bed and we could tell it had been recently renovated. We will definitely be back and feel lucky to have found a little hidden gem in the area! We even saw one of the locals the following day whilst having coffee and he told us all about the pub and wished us a safe journey home. Friendly, warm and a great atmosphere. We regretfully didn't get time to even have a drink at the pub but next time for sure! Great location too!

Central to were i needed to be for an appointment at homerton hospital. Made it less stress to stay there and walk to my appointment with out worry. It had everything nearby, marks and Spencers, a gregg and mcdonald's. The pub was welcoming and friendly, staff amazing couldn't help you enough. All information was provided before arrival and even explained by the manger. So if you dont want to speak with anyone you do or if you need assistance it is there. In the room there was USB plug socket always helpful, kettle and a coffee machine, bed was so comfortable had a brilliant night sleep.

We absolutely love this place. The room we stayed in has a feel of a boutique hotel. It is very clean and beautifully decorated. The host is a lovely Irish lady who was very welcoming and friendly. The Irish Pub downstairs is a classic Irish pub, cosy and full of locals. We had couple of drinks in there and watched the football. We went to Hackney Empire to watch a comedian. The Crown is only 5 minutes walk from the theatre. The perfect place to stay if you are going to Hackney Empire. We will definitely stay here again when we are in London.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating. We arrived a while before our check in time and the lovely lady behind the bar (don't know her name), kindly took our bags so we could go out for the day. I came back to the guesthouse nearer checking time and the room was ready. The room was modern, stylish and clean. Grateful for the fan during the night. Shower was powerful. Beds and pillows were comfy.

The room was really warm overnight. It had been a really hot day though so would have been a factor We were grateful for the fan. The hot water tap was extremely warm. For me too warm to use to wash hands properly.

So, I can say without a doubt that I had thoroughly enjoyed my stay here even if it had been for the night!! For the price I'd paid and for being in London, I cannot complain for the overall experience at the premises and surrounding area. Getting here from Hackney Central isn't difficult at all and before you know it, you'll be standing at the entrance of "The Crown" - nestled between a number of other business but distinguishable nonetheless. I wondered in to find the check in desk of which can be found on the far end of the bar and marked with signage and tended to reasonably quickly - there was a bit of a hiccup with their tablet system but, these things happen and I wasn't in any rush! Another charming member of staff greeted and guided me to the room - I was staying in room 13, so up a few flights of stairs for us! I was aware of the guesthouse undergoing development earlier on and expected to stay in their older style of rooms, but was pleasantly surprised when the door opened to reveal an extremely clean, airy and tastefully decorated room - even the staircase had that new look and smell! I totally appreciate how effectively they had utilised the space to use not only the decor, but modern fixtures to make it functional and easy on the eyes. The room is stocked with tea and coffee making facilities and shower consumables with mod cons such as a TV, led lighting accents for when you need something softer in the evenings and usb sockets on bedside outlets. I can't comment on the WiFi here as I hadn't been given its access details nor where they readily available on a card or something, but I wasn't here to be a recluse and had headed down to the bar shortly to mingle with the friendly patrons and staff! Quite the experience for a self-confessed introvert and of one whom doesn't frequent pubs! In short, if you're looking to stay in Hackney with some of that East London charm give "The Crown" a go -...

As others have mentioned, I did find the pillows on the softer side when considering I had a good assortment of them to bolster me up. But because I'm not woke/easily offended or whatever, I do not feel the need to mark down too harshly on this point as ultimately, I did have a good night's sleep!!! (that's with the window open about a 1/3rd to let in all that urban ambience and sweet-sweet London pollution! :P)

A private shower in the penthouse suite with large double bed a quality firm mattress, clean bed linen, clean white towels, soap & copious supplies of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, spring water & biscuits were all essential for my short stay to attend a memorial! A perfect location! Warm friendly Serena & team all delivered! A landmark duo of pubs full of character & tradition! I will definitely return for the beer & Craic next time .. Thank you ..

An armchair would be nice .. the occasional seismic shock from a passing train or an effervescent guest was slightly disconcerting at first .. I had no probs with the stairs others may need mountain climbing gear to reach the summit ..

Loved the size of the room, the balcony, the location, the staff (fab service) and it was amazing value for money! Very little negative to speak of to be honest.

It was a SLIGHTLY confusing setup to get into/out of the property and I was worried I'd forget the instructions. Also my shower plug was a tiny bit blocked though I didn't raise this as I was only there for a night - I am sure it would have been dealt with had I done so. Finally, I was accosted a bit by a hilarious drunk bloke in the pub on entering the property though it is a pub and while it was slightly awkward it was also very funny BUT perhaps another less confident guest might struggle with this.

In a great location, Ben who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Room was modern and the bed comfortable. There was a Dyson fan which helped keep us cool and enjoyed the Nespresso coffee machine and the well stocked tea & milk. Considering we were above the pub we did not hear much noise.

The sliding door to the bathroom did not give a lot of privacy, alright as a couple but not sure I would stay with a friend. Would have appreciated given how warm it has been, a thinner duvet or sheet on the bed instead of the thick duvet provided.
