The staff was very helpful when I had trouble with my room. I was staying for 7 nights, so they gave me a new room. The location on the east side was very convenient as the bus stop (26, 55) was outside. It was a lively hotel. The bar and breakfast area was always active. There is a lot of areas to work and to hang out. The room was big, the bed was comfy, it was very clean and quiet.

The heating in the first room didn't work. The bathroom was small but the shower was big although there was never hot water, only warmish. There really isn't many toiletries and no tissue. There is no closet only some hangers. One of the bartenders was not helpful nor very welcoming.

Breakfast was not worth the price the buffet was not replenished efficiently you need to chase people to get things it only has filter coffee & tea bags for hot drinks you need to pay extra for cappuccinos etc. The restaurant team not friendly no-one smiles most of the team have an arrogant attitude. It was our wedding weekend so we had a drink voucher when we showed it they said you can only have this wine or draft beer with a very unfriendly approach. There were very loud hen party & birthday groups over running the restaurant and noone wanted to control the situation by asking the groups to calm down as there are other guests in the restaurant who are also trying to have some nice time.

I booked this hotel as unfortunately I was attending funeral and the location suited. The hotel was very good - receptionist was very friendly and welcoming and my room was upgraded from a small double to a bigger one which was an unexpected bonus, Hotel is quite near a tube station and there are lots of pleasant streets close by with interesting shops restaurants and bars. I would recommend if this part of london suits ppl

I didnt book breakfast as thought the cost was very expensive. I think it would be a good idea to offer a couple of breakfast options - EG a light option (fruit, coffee, croissant) and then another option to inclde this and a cooked breakfast. Not all guests want to eat a lot first thing. One small gripe - I had a drink in the bar in the early evening and when I went to pay there was some confusion over whether I pay at the bar or another desk. It took longer than it should to pay for a glass of wine and the person behind the bar was somewhat curt. Not great really....

The decor of the hotel is cool and very Instagrammable. My room looked exactly like in the pictures and was very clean. The room had the necessities for a comfortable stay like a mini fridge and a safety box. Apparently the area of the hotel has had a bit bad reputation earlier, however during my stay the area seemed safe and pleasant even at night time. There are lots of little shops and restaurants near the hotel. The bus stops (Pritchard's Road) for bus routes 55 and 26 are pretty much next to the hotel. The bus ride to more central London will take around 20-40 minutes. The tube from Bethnal Green station is faster, but it will take around 10 minutes to walk to the station. The restaurant area of the hotel has a cool maximalist look, it was nice eating the breakfast there! There was a range of free movies and other stuff on the TV in the room.

My room was on the ground floor and the window of the room in on the eye-level for the passerbys, so I had to have the curtains closed at all times. You can also hear some sounds from other rooms and from the street too. The location of the hotel is not ideal if you want to spend time mainly in central London. Travel time to central locations can be like 40-50 minutes.

The hotel decor is fabulous. Friendly staff. Spacious room with great amenities. Fabulous breakfast options with a lovely atmosphere in the breakfast room and lobby area. There is no designated hotel parking, but we found parking on the street directly behind the hotel (Coate Street) via YourParkingSpace for £40 for two days. We felt the car was safe and would park here again. Gorgeous stay and would use again.

Overall our stay was great and we would return, however our TV didn't work, but we weren't fussed enough to call reception for support. The bed was comfy, but the duvet was small - upgraded duvet would've put our room at a 10/10.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel! The room was spotless and well-maintained, which made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist with a smile, making my stay even more enjoyable. The food was another highlight – delicious and with a good variety to choose from! Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again!

The only downside I experienced was that the walls were a bit too thin, so I could hear my neighbors from time to time. It wasn't a major issue, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re a light sleeper.

Bigger than expected, quite new and well maintained, small rooms, even the second smallest was tiny, but this might be London standard. Honestly no need to book costly bfast, as any other coffee than filter coffee from a termostat is getting charged extra. In the area around the property are various cafes offering good alternatives. Neighbourhood was super nice and safe, lot's to explore. Bus stop to downtown directly in front of the door, bus no 26 brings you directly to Big Ben & Co

Staff never smiled, never greets first or wishing a nice day, mostly busy with themselves or starring at their screens, however when approached, they were helpful and friendly. As well this "no smiling and no greeting attitude" might be a London thing.

The building is cool, I like the design. Love the big communal downstairs restaurant/bar/work space. The room itself was pretty nice size and the bed was comfy. Location is pretty good, but it's more Hackney than Shoreditch. This was my second stay there, and I would likely stay there again.

Layout of the room isn't my favorite - not sure where to put my suitcase. Small thing, but the bathroom door closes automatically, which is frustrating when you're getting ready and going back and forth. I had to prop it open with a trash bin. And the overhead shower head was laughably ineffective, so I stuck with the hand sprayer. And those Sylvester and Tweety bird masks in the rooms weird me out!

The hotel is gorgeous! I loved the decor and art work and the general vibe was amazing. The staff are incredible, so friendly, approachable and fantastic hosts. I was blown away by the room itself, for a small room, I was shocked to see how spacious it was and the bed was huge and so dreamy to sleep in. Loved the air conditioning and how easy it was to control, the safe was great and easy to use (I’m notorious for having problems with safes!) The bathroom was so incredibly clean. And the star of the show for me was the TV. I couldn’t believe how many great movies, and some very recent releases, were available for free! Breakfast was lovely and I was spoilt for choice. Even down to the gorgeous plates, everything was perfect.

I don’t usually say this but there was literally nothing I can fault about this hotel. I’ve never in my life had such a good hotel stay, and would absolutely stay again.

The location is ideal for visiting Shoreditch. The hotel is smart and modern with a very decorative ground floor - though I'm not sure what the theme is meant to be. Post-modern quirky, maybe - it's certainly not a boring, conventional hotel style. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, making checking in a pleasure - which doesn't often happen. My room was very comfortable and quiet - even with the window open. I'd not comes across Mama Shelter before and wasn't aware that it's an Accor brand but I will look out for other Mama Shelter hotels in future, based on my experience here.

Breakfast starts at 07.00 - which is a bit late for a city centre, business oriented hotel
