I stayed the weekend in Odawara and as I had booked fairly last-minute, simply took the cheapest accommodation I could find that was located centrally. This was extremely good value for what it provided; a very comfortable bed and room in a good location, with friendly staff who were very accommodating, and a lovely bar for evening drinks.

No sandals were provided to guests, which surprised me considering how common it is at Japanese hostels. As I always pack my own, this was not a problem, but it's worth highlighting. Likewise, this is a budget hostel - while the amenities were great and this was extremely good by European standards, it is still only providing the very basics.

If you want to going to use some specific bus routes like Hakone tozan bus H line, the location can be great. The location is not crowded that I took a good sleep. The female dormitory room only has 3 beds and even with a table and a chair, making it a place to talk and make friends (some others can have 6 or more beds, then the room is only for sleep, as the communication can be hard to happen)

If you want to use Odawara station in early morning, which was my case, you need to take a 15-min walk

The place was very cozy, the vibe was good and the host very welcoming. It was also very clean. There's a bar downstairs with good drinks, good vibes and good music. Approx. 15 min by walk to the station but one of the bus going to Hakone is close by. Good spot to sleep if you want to explore Hakone. Keep in mind that coffee is not provided though but some kinds of tea seemed to be.

Friendly, cozy hostel in a great location, 5 minutes from Odawara Castle and Miyuki Beach, a bit more than 10 minutes walk from the train station. I stayed in the girls dormitory with 3 beds in total, so it was quiet and I could rest well. The facilities were clean, new bedsheets and towels were provided for free. The mattress and pillow were the most comfortable from my entire trip to Japan so far. The girls dormitory had a lock and the outside door to the hostel was also password locked at night, so I didn’t have to worry about my safety. The bar downstairs had a nice vibe and I enjoyed the beer and conversations with the host Ricky and a few locals. I’ll definitely be back if I get the chance to be around Odawara again.

Everything was perfect.

This place is convenient for those who want to save the budget. The room, bathroom and toilet are clean. The owner is also kind and helpful. Overall it is a good place to stay. The place is near odawara station and it will take 13 min by walking.

The bath towel is small for both of us😂. If you need tooth brush and towel, you will need to pay 100 yen. But it is worth.

This was an unexpected place to stay on my travels round Japan. Booked 2 nights and very much enjoyed my stay. The owner "Ricky" was very friendly and advised on a couple of great places to eat. The rooms are simple, clean with all facilities that you would need for stay. 10 mins walk from the shinkansen, so would a good jumping off place to other cities. What really made the place for me was the friendliness of the host and locals who visit the bar. They are proud of Odawara and I had a great time chatting to folk there. Karaoke at a place round the corner was also a great laugh.

I loved a specially our host Ritchie! He is very personable and introduced me to several business owners who matched my interest and as a result I made many friends in this town! Absolutely an unforgettable experience.

There is nothing to dislike about this place

Ricky is very nice and cheerful. Gave great dining advice. The bar is a happy little place and no sound from it can be heard from the sleeping areas. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. This is now my go-to place in Odawara. I'm looking forward to staying here again. Thanks Ricky! Great t-shirt!!

All was great.

Good location with everything within walking distance. Bed was large and comfortable.

Option to leave luggage before check-in appeared to be leaving bags on a sofa outside the property, in plain site of the road. This wasn’t great so I just ended up arriving later in the day when check-in opened.

great place to meet other travelers and speak to locals who also speak english

its a bit far away from any tourist spots and about 15min walk from Odawara station. The bus stops near by are very convenient though
