We drove straight from the airport to Equinoccio Hotel and were excited the moment we saw the views of the pool and the lake. The property is tucked away off a narrow, bumpy dirt road, but don't let that intimidate you - it's a short drive and well worth it! We checked in a little early, grabbed lunch and looked out at the relaxing view. Our room was spacious, quiet, clean and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant in the evenings and while the pool area was busy, we chose to go to bed early to be ready for early morning activities in the surrounding area. The pool was nice to come back to in the afternoon and quiet, the sun was strong and the shade was a nice respite! They made great spicy margaritas as well! When we come back to the area I would definitely stay at Equinoccio!

The hotel room itself was beautiful and the beds were the most comfortable we stayed in for our whole trip. Bathroom was a good size, but no hot water like most of the country. It was quiet and the free breakfast was amazing! It was traditional breakfast (eggs, bread, etc), but better than we had anywhere else, and they had other options you could order and pay for. The pool was really cold, but our daughter loved it and it was a good size. We walked to a Mexican place across the street for lunch and appreciated having another nearby food option. We had dinner there and although it was a bit overpriced, it was delicious. The servers were great and the staff very friendly.

The top of the pier was under construction so there was nowhere to hang by the water. Some of the lounge chairs were broken and the seating by the pool was these flimsy plastic chairs. We were expecting a bit more of the outside area given the price we paid. The lake was covered in a thick green algae so we didn't swim (not their fault, but we weren't expecting that).

The breakfast was good. We also enjoyed some of the other meals we had while there. The beds were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. Also, not only is it a beautiful facility, easy to relax in, with gorgeous views of the Lake, but there were a lot of fun, water based activities to enjoy (for a price) for those who so wished. It is really a beautiful and fun place that warrants another visit!

I did not like to have to repeatedly buy water in plastic bottles in order to stay hydrated. Something that would be more in line with the Eco goals of the hotel would be to use Ecofiltros like we have here in Guatemala.

This is a stunning property. Photographs do not do it justice. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the architecture of the building is equally as impressive, from the public area staircases to the swimming pool and beyond. Service was excellent and the food was decent but perhaps the hotels weakest feature. Great place for a romantic break. If we return to El Salvador, we would definitely schedule to stay here again.

Beautiful view from the room and terrace, delicious food at the restaurant and clean facilities. Nice areas for chilling, nice dock and pool.

They have issues with the water supply (apparently all the properties around the lake due to local government regulations) and you need to wait for the water for the shower specially mid morning and afternoon. I would appreciate if they would tell this in advance, since I had an appointment and did not consider the water waiting time.

I absolutely loved my stay at this property. The staff, Victor and Diego, were exceptional. From the moment we landed to the end of our stay, the staff was attentive and proactive to making sure we were cared for. The views are stunning and the aesthetics of the property/ hotel room is very chic. I would stay here in again and every time, especially at the affordable price point. There also TV with great channels, hot water in shower, comfy beds, and great food!

The ONLY downside was the road leading up to the property. This isn't necessarily there fault but it would make the stay PERFECT if the road was paved. Those rocks and little cars aren't the best combo. This may be a bigger city issue rather than their problem.

The hotel was beautifully situated on Lake Coatepeque - we had our meals overlooking the lake and it was an incredible vista. The food was good and the service was excellent. My kids loved playing in the pool. Everything was clean and comfortable.

I wish we had known ahead of time that use of the lake wasn’t permitted due to high bacteria. Thankfully there was a pool. There was only one road to get to and from the hotel and it was not paved and extremely bumpy. We were prepared to get a flat tire but fortunately that didn’t happen. But the destination at the end was worth it. Definitely on the pricier side for El Salvador - but you get what you pay for. European quality and style with Salvadoran hospitality.

Staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms were clean and well-kept. There were free kayaks and paddleboards at the hotel. Jetskis were available for rental at a reasonable price. Overall, I would stay here again.

The road to get to the hotel is a dirt road that can be challenging to drive on. We had to leave and come back everyday for wedding activities and we dreaded driving on that road. Hotel was great though.

The hotel is a lovely older hotel on the lake. Very clean and the staff were very accommodating. Food is average, but the bar is great. Wonderful kayaking location and free! Other watersports available and the pool was refreshing! Can't say enough about how helpful the staff was for our whole stay.

Outside the hotel is a dirt road and not much to do. Go to Santa Ana, Cerro Verde and do the hikes!

Amazing location with a pool right next at the lagoon. The staff is friendly and the food in the restaurant was good! You can get kayaks and stand up paddle boards for free.

Loud music at the bar and pool area in the afternoon. Cleanliness of the bathroom in the room could be improved (hairs on the floor).
