The rooms were big and comfortable and decorated according to the bush environment. Breakfast and dinner had enough choices although nothing outstanding. The Bush dinner was an original experience, including African dance show. The safari rides took place despite the rainy weather and we saw a lot of animals, including lions and rhinos. It has quite a big swimming pool. A family of warthogs were wandering right in front of the restaurant.

The game drives are taking place in big 22.seats trucks and you get alocated seats without being informed or asked where you would like to seat. So no first come first served which was frustrating. The rangers are more drivers than anything else and don't give much info about the animals. Bakubung is a nice place made for mass tourism that offers average services at a premium price !

Room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast ion both days was good but items in pots eg bacon, sausages etc were cold. Dinner on Friday night was exceptional!

The food on Saturday night was not very good as we didnt go to boma braai and there wasnt a buffet selection like Friday. We stayed in the hotel and there was a party a couple of rooms away from us that went on until 5am and was very loud. Whilst not in Bakukubung's control the roads in Pilansberg were terrible and a real embarresment for South Africa. It is getting to the stage where almost impossible to go on self drives anymore which if it doesnt improve will force more South Africans to go elsewhere which will affect places like Bakubung, Kwa Maritane etc

The location of Bakubung at the entrance of the Pilansberg National Park. The room had great facilities and lots of extra for example the evening turn- down service. The wonderful options at breakfast and dinner buffet -Excellent. Great game drives with knowledgable guides. Great swimming pool with towel service. Wonderful friendly staff everywhere.

We arrived with bat droppings in our room and bat appeared the evening. We had to switch off lights and let the bat out ourselves. Unhealthy staying there with bat droppings and smell in the room. The game drive guides "etiket" of driving in the Pilansberg - speeding and bumping the front side mirror in haste at a sighting.

Service at lunch was slow and our waitress got the order totally wrong!

Game drive. Young children on our drive who were very noisy and loud, especially when we were close to animals as they got over excited. Drivers should at the beginning of the drive should ask everyone, especially children, to keep quiet when in the vicinity of animals.

Bakubung is great for a quick getaway and lodge experience at a reasonable price. The room was awesome, dinner and breakfast was exceptional.

We booked a game drive and we got feedback to be there by 16h00. After arriving we were told the game drive had already left at 15h00. The staff kindly arranged for us to be taken to the drive, but we still missed the first hour. The drive was also unfortunately with a "company" group, which ended up to be very loud and disrupting when you actually want to go on a quiet game drive, and not a chaotic tousist experience. (I do understand the company event though, so it is not their fault) These groups should be split up, as it totally destroys the atmosphere on a drive, especially for our international guests who were there for one night.

Just back from a one night stay. We did two safari’s one early evening and an early morning one. Safaris were very well organised. Very well organised and tasty dinner at the end of the early evening safari and very good breakfast at the end of the early morning safari, both included in the price. Lovely swimming pool in the complex.

We had the buffet lunch on arrival which was not included in the cost. I would avoid this as we felt very expensive for what you got. Food at the pool bar was better value for money.

We loved that game drives. Tsu tsu was our guide several times & each time she managed to find a great view for us, & as a consequence we saw some fantastic game, including lions & a leopard. I also did two walking safaris with Aw which were an experience of a lifetime. He took us to different parts of the reserve & we managed to get very close to an elephant. I would recommend these to anyone who has the fitness needed.

The accessible room for my mum needed some adjustments, but these were done very quickly - so really a positive rather than a negative.

The executive room was nice and big with a king bed, couch and good size balcony. Bathroom large with 2 basins and his and her wardrobe… very comfortable. Clean and daily towels and turn down of bed plus coffee machine in room. Game drives were good though be prepared to see or not see the cats .. 3 hours drive and some might find that too long. We did 5 drives and 3 of the drives were brill the other 2 disappointing so if only going for a couple of days you may not see much. The Boma was fabulous and the food was great as well as the entertainment.

Pool cold, loungers uncomfortable, wine never cold.

Bakubung Bush Lodge is an amazing place to rest, relax, recharge, and to go for Game Drives in the Pilanesberg National Park. The price includes 1 game drive. We took the afternoon drive and saw the BIG 5 plus many other animals. A wonderful experience. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, the small lobby is beautiful as it is open and overlooking a waterhole where Hippos, elephants, zebras and other animals came to graze and bath. Stunning.

The pool and the sun lounger area would benefit from an upgrade. The restaurant probably too, although it is comfy and the service was great throughout.
