The room was extremely comfortable. The staff were very helpful and considerate. Private parking was great and the location also great. We didn't use the restaurant, but walking through it, the food looked really good. Very nice coffee provided in the mini shared kitchen on the landing.

It's not really a case of didn't like, just a couple of points to be mindful of: 1. Although there is an access from the restaurant to the rooms, the primary access (and only access outside of restaurant hours) is from the car park up a set of iron steps. No issues with taking small suitcases up and down and not a problem for us. 2. Breakfast is continental in what is a shared mini kitchen area on the landing. The idea is that you pick up what you want from the counters and fridge and take it back to your room to eat where there is a table and chairs. This would have been fine had it not been for one guest, obviously very unwell, eating his food off the buffet table and coughing all over everything.

The room was lovely, clean and spacious

Didn’t like that the tea/coffee facilities were outside the room on the landing, never had this before anywhere. You had to take kettle back into room to fill with water. Also the continental breakfast was laid out on the landing and you had to take into your room, there were stools at the side but this was where the food was laid out, no space to put your plate of food and a drink. These rooms are above the restaurant, which does not open up until the evening, so why not put the breakfast down there? Having said that there was a good selection of food.

The Continental breakfast was set out on the landing. there was cereal, bread (toaster provided) fruit, danish pastries, fruit juice and milk were in a fridge along with bottles of water for the kettle, along with tea bags and granulated coffee, A coffee machine and plenty of clean crockery etc. It was lovely to just go outside our room door and get our breakfast and was able to make a cup of tea at any time. The check-in was quick. Our room was very comfortable and very clean, it had two armchairs which was very good as very often hotel rooms only have one armchair and a hard chair for the dressing table. We will definitely stay at this hotel again if staying around Chesterfield area.

The room's decor and style was lovely, it felt very luxurious. I have taken away some decorating tips for my future home renovation! There was everything we needed and lots of space to put our bags. I really appreciated the smell of bleach in the bathroom on our arrival! The TV had lots of channels to choose from. The bed was very comfortable, so too were the chairs. The breakfast had ample choice, and the pain au chocolat was particularly delicious. All the crockery and cutlery was clean and well organised. I especially appreciated having a fan in the room!

The only thing to comment on is the state of the towels. Although they were clean and were a lovely colour, they had bleach spots and were torn in places. This is the only negative thing to mention, and would not prevent me from recommending the hotel or staying there again. If the towels were in a better state then this would have resulted in my rating being 10/10.

The location was perfect for viewing St Mary's Church, the Town Centre and the Antiques and Collectables market. Both staff members we spoke to were lovely, very friendly and approachable. The room, The Hardwick was beautifully laid out, spotless and comfortable. The electric rotating fan was perfect for what seemed ike the hottest day of the year. The towels were massive and fluffy to boot. The breakfast was perfectly adequate for our needs, and just outside the room.

The bed mattress was hard steps to go to room round back the restaurant was not open bar not open not to keen on the continental breakfast just outside room on long table had to eat it in bedroom but lots of choice really can't complain really only get what you pay for but wish that had said restaurant not open when booked

Location good, spacious room very comfortable with large bed and beautiful bathroom well-equipped with toiletries and large fluffy towels. Parking good but….. breakfast fine but…… We didn’t eat in the restaurant but a guest who did praised it highly

Would have been helpful to have known that a parking place had been saved for us BEFORE I paid in local car park. Would have been good to have known that break fast was a help yourself from selection on the landing

Modern, clean and inviting. The bed was so comfortable, even debated stealing the pillows and the cow stool lol 😂.

The small car park and the access was a little hard to get past cars up the stairs. Only other thing would have been that it would have been nice to be informed that the restaurant was closed on the day we stayed. However was recommended the sister restaurant ‘the spread eagle’ and the food was amazing there and would defiantly recommend.

Description of room was misleading saying the room had tea and coffee facilities which it didn't you had to go out into the corridor for the facility , also felt that the breakfast menu was misleading as it was a continental type breakfast which didn't have cheese or cold meat as being part of it ,plus your taking all your breakfast things into your room to eat and drink them which was a first for me ,we did mention about the cheese and cold meat to one of the girls in the restaurant but she said that it couldn't be left out even though their was a fridge to keep it in where all the breakfast facilities were.

The room was amazing (as usual) quality fittings, bedding, and great location to the town. Great breakfast set up where you can choose your breakfast and enjoy it in your room. Unlimited use of tea and coffee facilities at all times. The owner has a real gem here and would recommend to anyone staying in Chesterfield.

Only on very small thing, the small glass table could be slightly bigger so both can have breakfast together, but this does no detract from an amazing stay.
