The location was perfect, directly at the ferry. The bus stop was just outside of the hotel, so getting around was very easy. We even got free bus tickets for the duration of our stay. The breakfast was good, but like every breakfast buffet, if you arrive late, you get the last pickings. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but it was nice to know that it was an option. There is also an afternoon kiosk with food and very relaxed service.

This is a very traditional hotel. In fact, it claims it is one of the oldest guest houses in Germany, going back way into the Middle Ages. Our room had a very modern and efficient bathroom with sufficient towels. The beds were comfortable enough. We appreciated two chairs (rare!) and a table, so that we could play a round of cards in the evening. Staff was friendly, the breakfast excellent although a bit expensive if you book it separately (16 €). There is a nice outside terrace facing the lake although there is rather quiet street is in between.

The price is a bit on the high end, but hey, this is Lake Constance. The parking situation is THE weak spot: Only 7 or 8 spaces at 5€ per night. More expensive parking at the nearby public parking. The interior design is very, very retro.

Breakfast was excellent, room was very comfortable with lovely views and a very reasonably priced mini-bar Only complaint was how early the restaurant stopped serving food but we had a good meal next door at the sailing club bar.

Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very beautiful and cosy restaurant with view over the lake. Excellent location for what we wanted: opposite the lake, next to the ferries and close to the island Mainau.

Due to lack of staff the restaurant had to close at around 21.00. The place where you could sit and enjoy a drink was too small. there were only two sofas which were never free in the evening. Although it was very nice, it was still too expensive for what it offered.

Stunning room, very spacious with a lovely traditional feel. The view from the balcony overlooking the lake was spectacular. The breakfast offered a large range of options and was delicious. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Special arrangements were put in place to accommodate our late arrival.

There wasn't any tea / coffee making facility in the room but there was a well stocked and very reasonably priced refrigerated mini bar.

location and overall size. we loved being away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. it was in a walkable neighborhood and easy to access by car or bike. the rooms were well updated with modern bathrooms. and the breakfast had something for everyone in the family.

for me, the bed was a bit soft. and we did not realize we could have darkened the windows with blinds until the next morning. otherwise everything was really good.

The staff were very friendly .The breakfast was amazing, great choices. The location was fantastic.

The room was dusty and not very clean, Ledges around bed ,lights, and bedside tables. Someone elses hair on the bed and bathroom sink. Around our balcony was lots of cobwebs.

The parking was a problem. Not the hotel’s fault. Just the way it is there. We ended up parking in the ferry parking lot which is a 2 minute walk.

Best location for a laid back stay over in Konstanz. Exquisite views on Bodensee with an old world charm and serene location. Bus number one stops virtually on the doorstep and ferry port is a mere 100 yards away so hugely accessible. The junior suite was spacious and sported 3 large windows and a balcony facing the lake. Quality linen were used on the beds ensuring a comfortable sleep. forYou can hardly ask for more. I am glad that I ignored the set of bad reviews as most of them were unfounded. Yes the carpets in the building is old and the furniture somewhat dated but nothing that detracts from the value of the location and general service. The breakfast featured a good spread of cold and warm although service of the waiter was somewhat slow when replenishing coffee and buffet food. There is a stocked mini bar fridge in the room

A kettle and some coffee in the room would be really nice. As mentioned the service at breakfast could be more crisp.

Friendly staff, very good breakfast Location-wise, it is next to the ferry that transport cars, so it is very convenient if coming by car, and it's only 5 minutes away from the city centre by bus (which is free).

Spiders, which we were told abound in the area and made us close the windows at night
