Beds are extremely comfortable

Bar staff are always inexperienced and lack the skills required to provide a good level of service that reflects 4.5stars. No one ever has any knowledge about the Wines listed on the menu, let alone the type of glass it should be poured into… and although an extensive range of spirits are displayed and available, the most basic cocktails & simple techniques / methods used to make classic mixes that are available at almost every bar/pub/restaurant you go to these days are not available to order, let alone even heard of. Which is pretty ridiculous.

I was originally booked to stay elsewhere, I had late check in at 9pm and upon arriving there it was terrible and I called around at 10pm at night looking for another place to stay and the ibis answered saying come to them. The staff member Kushal at the ibis Mackay was so calming and helped me work out my reservation as I made a mistake booking 2 rooms by accident. It was clean, quiet, very comfortable bed and I’m just thankful they were 24/7.

There was a slight drip happening in the bathroom from a pipe under the sink though didn’t bother me.

Staff friendly and helpful. The television wasn't working in our room, and the staff member came straight away to rectify the situation. Rooms were clean. I had an early flight on the morning of departure. It is a very convenient location to catch an early flight. Staff catered to our request for rooms close together as we had an elderly family member with us, and we are their carer. It was very much appreciated.

Some of the overhead lights and one bedside light weren't working in the room. It wasn't an issue at the time, but maybe the facility needs to check on things like that when rooms are cleaned. We didn't report it at the time as we were only there for an overnight stay. The restaurant kitchen was undergoing refurbishment at the time of our stay, so the restaurant menu was very limited.

Loved this place right on the airport site. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Good spacious room with great bathroom shower water pressure really good. Liked that it had its own iron and ironing board. TV was good loved the selection of free films and tv series. Had a meal in the restaurant and was really good and excellent value for money.

Didn't like the bed moving about and found that the cleanliness could gave been a bit better ie the shower door trim was dirty and dust on the TV unit was really thick although this didn't detract from our stay

The room was lovely. We were happy with the room's facilities and found the bed to be very comfortable. Bathroom facilities were all good. We were happy that the room was very quiet and enjoyed having the blackout curtains.

We went to the restaurant, but found the wait to be quite long. We waited almost an hour for two meals. When they came, I was not happy with my meal and did not end up eating all of it. I would have ordered room service from the room, because I was still hungry, but there was no phone or menu in the room, so it was unclear how we were meant to order room service. My partner and I ended up going to the local IGA to get additional food.

Being situated at the airport, we were expecting a degree of noise from planes landing and taking off. We were pleasantly surprised when in our room, we had zero noise disturbances of any kind. The room we had was small but adequate for our needs. It was presented clean, well appointed, and with a comfortable bed. All in all, we were very happy with our stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Probably like 10 steps away from Mackay airport. There’s a pool but no real Signs how to get there. Has a good bar area and nice buffet Breaky.

Next to no staff around at reception. Tiny rooms barely anywhere to fit two large suitcase.Doesn’t seem to be getting taken care of, hallways marked up,needs a good vacuum beginning to smell musky and few years place will be gross.

Good location convenient to catch a flight out of Mackay. Gym was handy.

The air conditioning is an issue in the rooms. My room was set to heat with a temperature of 26.0C. I mentioned this to reception staff and was told nothing could be done about it as the temperature is set centrally. I was able to reset the air conditioner by removing the key card in the room slot and changed it to cooling. This worked well. The staff may need more training on this issue?

Bed very comfortable, room very spacious and clean, main meal at the restaurant downstairs amazing. We didn't have breaky as had an early flight

I would have liked more space to put toiletry bags and things in the bathroom, no space around the small vanity and no shelving. Plus we weren't told it was a room for disabled which was fine, but would have like to have know it wasn't a normal toilet and shower recess etc

Central location, walking distance to the airport terminal, excellent facilities including a nice bar, and excellent, helpful staff helped make our Mackay trip a memorable experience.

Getting to the parking was a bit convoluted and the actual parking spots were in short supply,, but this is how airports are laid out these days
