I have stayed at Riversleigh twice now while in Ballina. If you want a home/room away from home, this is your place. Well presented heritage house, pin access. I stayed in room 2, which is the best at this accommodation, which has full veranda with seating. Great clean and well presented communal kitchen, pod coffee machine, supplied cereals, fridge, etc. There is a supermarket close if supplies are needed. Walking distance to restaurants and pubs. Will stay again. Room 2 or room 1. Other rooms, no balcony. This place would be suitable for family or friends get together, as every room has an ensuite. Great lounge downstairs.

Nothing, but parking is in the side street (safe)

Well when we first got there , we were abit stunned at the age of the property ( quickly booked 20 minutes before arriving ) but we were amazed at the beautiful rooms with everything in them that was required! Plus a large separate lounge area downstairs, bookcases , and a kitchen that was fully equipped and full of things for us to use - tea , coffee , drinks etc. When I booked, it took only one minute for a lovely message from the owner to welcome us … also full of info about the property. The bed was so comfy , air conditioning very efficient, bathroom huge with great toiletries, .. very close to shops , cafes etc. and a wharf precinct. I’d definitely stay again. Different but different good !

This is a gorgeous period property and our room was very large and furnished to match the era. We really enjoyed the historic ambience. From our room we had access to the balcony at the front of the building and there were some inviting seating options, for lounging and dining there. We did not use this. Our stay was very short as we arrived at about 8pm and left around 8am the next morning. The self check-in was very convenient, easy and efficient.

The fridge and tea & coffee making facilities were in the shared kitchen. This was not really a problem, just a bit unexpected. The night we arrived was very hot and humid and there did seem to be a few small cockroaches in the kitchen which should probably be dealt with.

A lovely old home, beautifully furnished and decorated in keeping with its age. However, there is a well equipped kitchen for the use of guests. The private bathrooms are beautifully tiled and function well. Also, a large lounge and dining room downstairs. I would like to have stayed for more than one night. The manager gave clear instructions by text on how to enter and find our rooms (3 in our travelling group). Great location on River Street, which runs through the original centre of Ballina.

It's a lovely building, well renovated to modern standards while maintaining its original character and charm. Really nice and spacious room, leading out to the wonderful wrap-around balcony with views to the river.

The traffic noise! Unfortunately it can be quite noisy with all the cars travelling on River Rd, especially during most of the day and in the evening. This makes sitting on the balcony less pleasurable.

Location is very convenient to town centre and amenities. Riversleigh House is a charming old world establishment with many original features. Its verandas were ideal for sitting down to meals and relaxing in cool river breezes. Kitchen was well stocked with condiments, spreads and breakfast foods.

It would have been nice to meet management. There was some traffic noise, but not sufficient to interrupt sleep.

Everything is there to make guests comfortable. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Communal lounge and kitchen has everything (including various cereals) you'd need to make a stay easy. The extensive renovations all tastefully suit the atmosphere of the building. Spotlessly clean. Just a few minutes walk to the coffee shops and restaurants. Loved it.

Lovely ambience of an early 20th century large house. Furniture was sympathetic to the period. Common kitchen was very useful. I wish modern houses had bedrooms as large as this one.

I am a gardener & would like to see the small front garden cultivated further to match the period as well. For winter stays, perhaps a blanket as well as a doona on the bed would be more adaptable during changes in temperature overnight.

Beautifully maintained heritage home. Room was charming comfortable and clean. Lovely nights sleep and great for a short stay in Ballina. warm and helpful greeting from manager Erica. she made us feel “at home” immediately. Only few rooms and shared kitchen which was clean and well appointed. Not used to shared facility but such a small number of residents, I never felt awkward using the kitchen. Beautiful balcony wraps around upper floor. Lovely spot to take in the quiet end of town and view to River.

couldn’t find an iron but I’m sure there was one. I know if I’d been desperate I could have called Erica.

Simple contactless check-in. Old house is very charming but still clean and modernised where necessary. Room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was better than we were expecting. Dining and lounge area downstairs also nice. Location great for parking, and walkable to Ballina town. We made the right choice staying here instead of paying double for something worse in busy Byron Bay.
