We booked Sunset Resort as we were visiting our son who is living in Banff. Having read some previous reviews I was a little anxious about what to expect however I couldn't have been more pleased. The accommodation suited my family group 3 bed apartment style with a fully equipped kitchen. Furniture in living room a little tired but comfortable and serviceable. Laundry facilities were an added bonus. Underground parking was provided and fit our six seat hire car no problem. Nice pool and hot tub for a bit of relaxation. My adult sons used the games room a few times and enjoyed it. In terms of location this was fantastic right in the heart of the Rocky Mountains the views are breathtaking. Close to Canmore with all it's shops bars restaurants and recreation amenities. All in all a great stay!

The resort is accessed via a variety of different codes which takes a bit of getting used to. Having said that it does feel secure!

The layout of the room worked well for us. The room was well equipped with things to make our stay comfortable.

The parking situation was a little bit of an issue. We had 2 different men come knock on our door about where our car was parked, which when we met with the manager they went to our car and told us it was parked in an approved space. Then in the middle of the night management went into the garage and took all the signs down of where to park and then moved the spaces and signage around. Did not appreciate how it all happened. First men that read on our car where we were come knocking on our door and then no communication from the management about parking changes.... frustrating!

Overall the condo was great. It had sufficient cookware & plates, etc. The location is very good.

The mattress in one of the bedrooms was horrible, it is in terrible shape as both people roll into the centre & it is very uncomfortable. The pool area is in desperate need of a change area. We had to walk outside to get to the pool area & there is very limited space for jackets, boots & a dry area to leave your clothes.

The front desk staff are fantastic. A flight cancellation meant we wouldn't be there the first night, but they were able to rent the unit for that night at our cost, so we didn't lose a dollar. We were able to check in 1.5 hours early. The beds are very comfortable. The balcony runs the length of the condo. Parking is in an underground garage. The condo is quite large. It has a fireplace, a separate room with a washer and dryer, and a well-stocked kitchen.

There is only one bathroom for a two-bedroom unit. The unit gets a bit warm in the sun and the AC had trouble keeping it cool. Fine at night. The train track is only 100 yards away, so you hear the train. With the windows open you can hear the Trans Canadian Highway.

We had reserved a one bedroom with spa bath. I am in a wheelchair and found it very tight to move around. Would have worked only because I'm still able to shimmy around bed area, otherwise it would have been difficult. We mentioned as a suggestion only that maybe not to classify that room as wheelchair accessible in future. We got back after dinner and were told of a upgrade. 2 bedroom and large area to move around in. Absolutely amazing helpful young lady that looked after us. Sorry can't remember her name.!!! Very clean units and has everything you would need. Great Location, lots of restaurants in area

The 1 bedroom condo was spacious and the kitchen had all the amenities you would need. The bed was comfy with lots of pillows.

Being a pick-up truck owner the underground parking wasn’t optional,so I had to park in the back of the unit. Those parking spots weren’t big enough to park a truck without having to squeeze out your door. Having a bunch of different codes to get through doors could be annoying at times and having the pool/hot tub in a different building from where we stayed wasn’t very convenient . Had a hard time with the code on the back door entrance to the pool, so ended up not using it.

All appliances you would have in your own home were there. I managed to wash and dry clothes, very useful when on a touring holiday. Huge bed in main bedroom. Within easy walking distance of downtown Canmore. Reception staff were very welcoming. Apparently There was a pool but we didn't get to try that.

Towels, tee towels etc are getting a bit worn. No keys or key cards so you had to remember lots of numbers to access the various doors. Noisy if you get inconsiderate guests who stomp around in rooms above or shout in the corridors, but you could get that anywhere!

The condo was spacious and well equipped with everything we needed including laundry. The balcony was also spacious and had a grill, of which we took advantage. The pool with the water slide was fantastic. My son loved it! The location of the condo was great. There were a number of places within easy walking distance, and with a little more effort, you could walk to downtown Canmore. It was also really easy to get on the highway to go to Banff and conveniently located for public transportation.

The door to the condo automatically locked after about 10 seconds, which was a bit annoying while trying to bring things in and out. The main part of the condo had air conditioning but the bedrooms did not. It would have been nice to have had a fan in each of the rooms.

Breakfast wasn’t included however the room came with a full kitchen and dining room. Great use of space, the location to Banff was perfect and the hotel was quiet, we had underground parking which was a bonus!!!! Wish we would have stayed there for the entire trip. Conveniently located to take tours to the multiple parks nearby. Price was very reasonable.

Loved it all. If I was to give any feedback signage in the basement should show where the elevator is as it’s not marked at all.

A good location within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and Save on Food grocery store. A nice pool facility. Well managed place. The view on the balcony is stunning especially at sunrise!

Got to remember a set of passwords to go to different places inside the building. The resort is on the quieter side of the rocky railway so give yourself extra time to cross the railroad to the other side of the town. The trains are long and go slowly.
