Room with a view surrounded by mountains. (see pics) The river flows through town right outside the window. We visited early May before the seasonal swell of tourism. Cleanliness: Spic and Span. Comfort: right on. Water pressure: excellent. Location: unbelievably good. Black out curtains for the 5am-ish sunrise: Thank You! Coffee and pastries at on-site Electric Wolf café are great. Windows on both sides of room; the view to the West is stunning while view to east is the lovely river. There are good restaurants, shops, bars, etc., right next door. A hippie bulk store called Nutters a block away. DeGrassi Jr. High on the TV! Oh, Canada! Since Basecamp are all over the area, I wish I could try out all of them for comparison, but Lamphouse in Canmore won me over.

Heaters kicked on with a startling sound then run in silence. Room temperature perfect otherwise. Neighbors' doors closing startled us too. These are minor issues.

The convenience to main street, the creek, the river and the restaurants could not be beat! Super convenient from route 1 too. Beds were super comfy, mini fridge keeps your drinks cold, there’s tea & kettle, Nespresso coffee, staff was just a text message away for any needs and could not beat the view (we had room 20 w/ 2 queen beds). Great to know that the hot tub is cleaned weekly (during our stay it was Wednesday from noon-2pm). So lovely! Also if you wait to check in on arrival vs over internet via link ahead of time you may have to go to the basecamp location on bow valley trail to show your id and credit card to get your door code. 3 minutes by car (short 15min walk) away from lamphouse.

On the positive side room was very clean, staff were kind and bed and pillow were super comfortable.

A weird thing happened on Tuesday night when other guests tried to get into my room, cause they were assigned it as well. Went back to bed then front desk staff came and knocked again to confirm who I was. The TV in the room was unplugged and when I plugged it in it was a fuzzy screen and it didn't seem to work, I left it unplugged, couldn’t watch the Stanley cup finals 😢 The hot water takes about 5 minutes to warm up enough for a shower and the room AC was really loud.

I'm 2.5 months postpartum and this was our night away from home with the little one. Staying at Lamphouse was delightful overall! We loved how close this location was to everything. It was clean, the beds were very nice, the shower was lovely! The price for our stay was such a steal of a deal too.

It was quite warm in our room. We turned the thermostat down and opened a window, layered down to almost our underwear, but had to resort to the loud AC as it still continued to uncomfortably warm. We also didn't have control of the T.V. volume either. It was loud, and no matter what we did.

Location, room, amenities, tub, proximity to downtown are great.

When I got there I couldn't get into my room because my credit card was declined. They have a phone outside that connects to the other hotel. THere is nobody at the front desk, other reviews mention this as well. I ended up physically walking over to their other hotel to get things sorted out, certainly could have been handled better. If you go, make sure you get the email with room number and password to get in before your trip.

We loved how accessible the property was and in a walkable district. My bf talked to reception a few times and noted it was a very positive experience. Things were very clean and fresh. We loved how we got a mini fridge, cocktail glasses, Nespresso…it felt like a home away from home. Truly a “basecamp” - short drive from most things, quiet place to come home to.

Virtually nothing - although it would be helpful to understand which rooms have access to what (laundry, other facilities, etc. )

Room was lovely but lots of outside noise. Supposed to be one parking spot per unit but when we went out for dinner, someone was parked in our spot when we came back. Staff were awesome 😎 Link for online check in didn't work and neither did code for door so we had to have a physical key, which we were only given one and of course my son locked it in the room. The upside was that the staff were amazingly helpful and came to help us out promptly, even though it was late at night 😎

Excellent location to all things downtown Canmore. The pet friendly room was really helpful. The smart TV upgrade was very much appreciated. Hot tub was awesome, our experience was that it was maintained and open the entire time...should be noted that the health authorities demands closure when temperatures are below -21 degrees Celsius, not the hotel's fault. I will stay here again.

no vent fan in the bathroom but there is a window, otherwise, everything was excellent.

The staff was friendly and professional (e.g.) when the adhesive gave way on the shampoo container the staff was pleasant and took care of it immediately. Now a drilled into the tile, telling me that they took care of the issue with a permanent solution vs. a temporary one - taking pride in the facility. We will be back and or have confidence in booking other Basecamp properties. Plus we will recommend the property.

The room was comfortable with a large king bed, good size floor space and place to store clothes etc. good size fridge and it is very close to Canmore town centre and everything is within walking distance.

The heating system was clunky, and very loud. The TV in the room Seemed to have a mind of its own what buttons did or didn’t work, and randomly the volume would go up or down. Sadly, my room was above a room which had a dog which barked a lot, and could hear it though the floor in the night. None of these things were deal breakers, but, I did expect a little more from the price point of this room. The property could benefit from a booking system for the hot tub, so that guests all have a fair chance of accessing it, especially during busy times, sadly it wasn’t a feature I was able to use as it was always occupied when I tried to go.
