The breakfast was really something special and truly creative. the welcome was the best on our entire road trip, excellent smiley staff, took our cases up to the room. Excellent food in the evening. Wood fires. 2 nights prior we stayed at Gleneagles which was top notch. But we actually preferred this place and I cannot really explain why.
We could not fault it. I suppose that once one is "won over" everything seems good. cases up to the room, straight down to the cozy bar and a pint of very well kept real ale. We were in good hands.

Our second stay and in a another lovely room with fabulous bathroom. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was once again the BEST ever, with our Vegan preferences catered for 100%. Dinner was fantastic too with a good selection of wines. We spent the sunny afternoon by the lazy river outside of the hotel.
Room at night was quite warm with it being unusually hot weather. There was a tower fan supplied but it was too loud for sleeping.

Beautiful, warm and welcoming hotel. Food fabulous and room of a very high standard. Linens, towels and toiletries excellent quality. Staff delightful and Trevor as welcoming as always. We stayed 2 nights and our room was cleaned and everything topped up and refreshed for our second night. Attention to detail was fantastic. Pre ordering breakfast was great and nothing ever felt like it was too much trouble.

The Northumberland Arms is an amazing place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. We were shown to our room, which exceeded our expectations, it was outstanding in every way. Shortly after arriving, we enjoyed a fantastic meal, and the same can be said for breakfast the next morning, it was perfect. We would highly recommend staying here and will certainly return in the future!

Found the hotel late in the day due to our original booking being unsuitable for our requirements. From booking through to checkout the hotel staff could not be faulted for everything they offered our family. Food amazing, breakfast fantastic- special thank you to Gary the chef who came to our table after breakfast to see if everything was OK. Highly recommended and will definitely use as a northern base going to the future

We all had a lovely stay at the Northumberland Arms. The bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious and bathrooms well equipped. The managers were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The other staff we met were good. We enjoyed a two course meal on our first evening and the food was delicious tasty and of good quality. Breakfast choice was wide ranging and very enjoyable.
Nothing to list here.

Staff were lovely
The access stairs to the bedrooms were very steep and narrow. Difficult to negotiate with a suitcase. We ordered evening meal at 7pm got food 8pm but the restaurant was comfortable so it was fine and food was good. Huge spiders in the room but that is difficult to avoid in a country hotel. All in all we enjoyed our stay the staff were lovely.

The breakfast was superb! Staff so friendly and courteous. Our bedroom was lovely and so comfortable with a very generous sized bathroom with bath and shower. Dinner in front of the fire - delicious!
The only fault was the hot water supply to our bedroom. After one shower we had to wait a short time before my husband could shower and there was no chance of that hot water supply allowing us to have a bath.

Lovely location; fabulous pub. Breakfast was gorgeous. Best smashed avocado I’ve ever had, really tasty. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Bedroom was great size and they’d already out a fan in for the warm weather when we arrived
The bedroom could just have done with some refreshing of the decor that’s wear and tear but otherwise gorgeous rooms!

The gentleman who greeted us was lovely and made sure we felt very welcome. We stayed in a beautiful room with a huge bathroom which had lots of thoughtful touches. It was very comfortable and clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The evening meal was fantastic too!
The eggs at breakfast were undercooked and the service during dinner wasn’t as friendly as the rest of our stay.
