This is my second stay and my new go-to place. The owners are very sweet and it’s obvious they care about the comfort of their guests. They make a point to say hello throughout your stay without being intrusive. The place is clean, comfortable, and the location is unbeatable! Easy, short two block walk down to the water, shops, and restaurants. Parking is convenient. Prices are very reasonable.

Walls are a bit thin and we had inconsiderate guests next to us. The owner apologised profusely but I knew it wasn’t her fault.

We've stayed here many times. The rooms are always immaculate, service is impeccable, the owners are always on site, ready to help you with anything you might need. There must be a hundred pots of succulents on the property, and they are absolutely stunning!

The hotel next door had lights that shined into our room all night. We had to close our bathroom door to keep the room dark. The room was very warm at night, even with the windows open. I've noticed this at many of the hotels in Morro Bay. Cross ventilation is not good. Fortunately every room has an air conditioning unit, so we just ran the fan.

Sundown Inn has always provided excellent service. During our stay, my husband needed emergency surgery, so we had to extend our stay by a couple days. The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us, even though it meant moving rooms and making the new room available early, which meant extra cleaning and extra work for them. They gave us a price break because our stay extended into the weekend, and when I brought my husband back from the hospital, there was a lovely bouquet of flowers in our room. I mean, who does that? We love this place!

Zero complaints.

Our room was immaculate. The rooms are simple but clean. This is a classic mom-and-pop hotel. My daughter and I felt safe and were personally welcomed. I noticed other guests had the same treatment.

Everything was as described. The space met our expectations perfectly. The accommodations were simple, which is what my daughter and I prefer. There was no excess or waste here. The rooms were cleaned upon request. We needed an extra towel or two and got them immediately.

The room was cozy and comfortable, with easy check in and parking. The bed was super comfy and we had everything we needed. Rooms are quaint, if dated, but so charming. The proprietor was lovely and super helpful. The location is perfect for walking around downtown Morro Bay or the waterfront. We will stay here again!

Would have enjoyed a better coffee selection in the room? Not a big deal, though, as there are plenty of cute coffee shops nearby!

Extremely clean and tidy. Location was easy walking distance to restaurants and the harbor. Very quiet secure . Room #7 had a view of the rock and lovely on shore breeze.. Very comfortable bed. Nicely remodled tile and granite bathroom. Has modern split A/C unit and hot water was very quick to heatup with great pressure. Sitting by the window sipping coffee in the morning listening to the sealions barking in the harbor was very relaxing.

Nothing was a problem

It's a very well maintained old fashioned motor court style motel. The rooms are all decorated a bit differently and reflect the owners love of gardens and flowers. Everything is super clean and everything was in working order. Bed with comfortable and towels were thick and plush. Owner managed and customer service and friendliness is top notch. Lovely landscaping and clean clean clean.

Morro Bay is a great vacation spot, and this motel is walking distance from the heart of town and the embarcadero. The motel's owners are very nice and keep the motel clean and well-maintained. They have a lot of repeat customers. And a little something extra for nostalgia buffs like me -- they have vintage magic fingers vibrating beds still just 25 cents. I dare you to find those things anyplace else.

Location. Location. Location. Really friendly staff. Ice machine. Mini-Fridge. Cable TV. Coffee maker. One of the beds had an antique bed massager. Pretty cool.

AC wasn't working too good. We faced the sunlight directly, so it was warm for a while. At night, it got cold, so it was not needed. Parking lot was a little tight, but it was free and safe.

The room was tastefully done and downright cute! The owners really put personal touhes - such as dried flower arrangements here and there. The vaulted ceiling added extra charm and there were no generic butt ugly excuses for artwork on the walls. It was really nice and the lady at the front desk was enthusiastic, helpful, and charming. I'd like to think that she decided how the room would look.

The way a person parked but that isn't on the facility
