It was situated in a charming little village, staff were all beautiful from the evening through until the breakfast, carpets soft and bouncy, the decor was really lovely and would come back here again 100% We headed up into the Dartmoor for a drive and then to visit friends in chadford. We visited the local sculptor - https://www.dominicwelch.com by appointment only. All so charming

There was a local lady who felt it was her job in the early hours 6am to loudly keep saying the road is closed to drivers (which had sign road closed) :-/ I just shut the window and carried on enjoying my restful morning. Nothing to do with the hotel.

Our stay was a last minute booking with only one room available, this room (21) was one of the smaller rooms but sufficient and was really good value for one nights stay. Room was super clean with very good quality bedding, Sky tv and homemade shortbread biscuits which was a nice touch. Fantastic breakfast (plenty of cooked choices to choose from) and good quality ingredients. . Bar food was also very good and very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again but in a different (larger) room.

Only minor issue is parking - no parking on site we had to park in the small Council car park around 100metres away but the car park was very busy when we arrived around 5.30pm and had to wait a while to a space to become available.

Our stay at The White Hart Hotel was fantastic! What we especially fancied was the staff which was warm and welcoming, the location was perfect for exploring the area, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided for our dog. As a whole the hotel had a lovely ambiance, making it a comfortable and enjoyable getaway for our family.

While the overall service was excellent, we noticed that one of the kitchen staff seemed a bit tired or distracted and didn’t greet us with a smile but it obviously wasn’t a major issue, but it stood out in contrast to the otherwise exceptional service we received throughout our stay. We hope all is well with her.

The hotel was clean and welcoming. The staff were universally warm and friendly. Small fish and chip supper was just the right size for the smaller appetite and delicious. Local beer was lovely. Breakfast pancakes with bacon was so nice, the bacon was sensational. The linens were very soft, the bed comfy with a heap of pillows. Homemade shortbread was delicious and a very nice touch. I will definitely stay again when I next come for a woodwork course at Touchwood Carpentry.

Really, really minor but a continental breakfast is nicer with cheese and cold meats as well.

Arriving at the hotel we already knew parking would be an issue. The car park was about a 5 minute walk up the road, so not too bad. The decor of the hotel was very welcoming. The room itself was in an annexe. It was immaculately clean, but a walk outside with stone steps. We stayed for 2 nites. It was a little cold even with the heating on. And there was no radiator in the bathroom, so a shower was a challenge. I can't fault the staff. Friendly, welcoming, and so helpful. And the food was lovely. We dined in the restaurant both nites and had breakfast twice. All in all, a lovely stay. And an excellent base to explore Dartmoor.

Room was large, bed was comfortable. Loads of hot water, which was important as there was no working heater in the bathroom, so it was freezing. The room had two large radiators, but only one of them worked, and boiler timings meant the room never really heated up. The room had lovely, thick, long, curtains, but these, unfortunately covered the radiators, so very little of the heat produced actually warmed the room. The restaurant and bar was very good, but quite pricey, with small portions. The member of staff who served us for most of the evening was great, but the woman who prepared the bill was not particularly pleasant.

We liked how central the property was to Moretonhampstead and enjoyed the local pub, grocers and butchers for pasties whilst we were there. Great location for walking too. The breakfast included was great - generous choices. We enjoyed a supper there one evening too. We were comfortable and well fed!

Only thing we could fault and not really an issue for us were the shallow steps up to the third floor where our room was. They could be a little slippy if you were carrying plenty of luggage or in a hurry to eat a yummy breakfast as we were!

The staff are so friendly and happy. Made to feel really welcome. The hotel is decorated to a beautiful, cosy standard. The breakfast was cooked lovely with perfect pouched eggs !!. The evening meal was also of a good standard. I have stayed a couple of times now with my husband, so I took my mum and daughter for a christmas treat. They both loved it as well. The rooms are very cosy with a comfy bed. I've had 4 different rooms now and all very comfortable and spotless. Location is great to relax or explore Dartmoor. There are also 2 other pubs nearby which are also very good. Pay and display parking 2 minutes walk from hotel.

The hotel had lovely friendly staff who were very welcoming. I was so pleased with the room - much nicer than the place I picked last time, and made a work trip feel like a treat. The room was nicely decorated, thoughtfully furnished and a very comfortable bed -most important! The bathroom was lovely and warm with a good shower. I slept really well, and the breakfast options were fab.

My only comments are I would've preferred blackout curtains as there was a light outside and I prefer to sleep in a dark room, and an accessible socket near the bed to charge the phone - I'm totally blind without my contact lenses so I didn't want to wake up to the alarm going off over the far side of a strange room!

Delighted this pub with accommodation has reopened. Now under new ownership and refurbishment. Perfect location to explore the town and glorious Devon countryside. Amazing value for mid week B and B. It is also a perfect base for taking our evening meal at the wonderful Italian restaurant, Berto's, a short walk away. Very good traditional breakfast. Our room #3 spacious, comfortable and clean. A splendid public lounge area with log fire and comfy sofas and chairs. Popular public bar. Doggy friendly pub, restaurant and hotel. We shall return. TripAdvisor Torbayaotearoa 🇬🇧 🇳🇿

A very minor area of negativity is poor lighting in bedroom for reading. Curiously only one bedside lamp. That said there is that splendid public lounge so all good.
