This hotel is example how the staff can ruin everything related to family holiday. We have plan this trip over 7 weeks ago and we went all my family - 6 adults and 2 kids. We have booked and prepaid trough booking.com three rooms - breakfast and dinner included. After the dinner - they have asked us to pay for the dinner. During the check out - theu have asked us to pay again for the rooms. We have extremely big arguing - showing our prepaid voucher but the staff was extremely staborn and absolutely not friendly. Even we have reached to the point that we will call the Police that they are trying to charge us double.. After long, long discussions - finally they have realise that they have make a mistake but no any apologize or whatsover by them. I am using booking.com in a years but such horrible situation never ever happen before.

The stuff!

We enjoyed the balcony overlooking the ocean. It's an older property, and the room was updated and clean. The furniture placement was tight. If you plan on using the work desk, you might have to move something. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the train station and maybe 10 - 15 minutes from the town center where we found a nice beach area by the harbor. Sylvia at the front desk was patient with all our questions, and her assistance made our stay.

We attempted to order dinner from the downstairs restaurant. But after being directed to a table for service, no one came, so we went elsewhere. There seemed to be a shortage of staff, so we didn't want to push it.

Could snorkel off rocks outside! Sea view. Sylvia was so kind and helpful as were all the staff. They let us check in several hours early at no extra charge. Views were amazing and thd beaches nearby were just as nice as Sablettes.

Lovely hotel, but rooms are in need of a refresh soon. It is not the hotel's fault but repair work on the front affected the otherwise near perfect view. This won't be the case forever though.

Amazing sea view from the balcony. Great location on main promenade of Menton. Walking distance to restaurants and beach.

Hotel is still undergoing renovation. We might have gotten lucky that we stayed over the weekend because Monday morning we were woken up by loud drilling noises from the upper floor. It is very 3 star, facilities look functional but nothing too fancy. Some rough edges could be refined like cobwebs on some corners of the balcony, AC not working intermittently, etc. Breakfast was very mediocre, please at least improve the scrambled eggs.

The location was amazing, there is also a lot of public parking available around the hotel which was affordable (around 12€/day). The staff was really nice especially the front desk lady at check-in (Silvia i believe was her name), very friendly and helpful with tips to help us get around and make the most of our trip. Room was clean, well maintained and looked like it was recently renovated

Some of the staff didn’t speak any english, which i find as a minus in the hospitality business

The property is superb & with excellent view of beach & sea. Can just go out & take a swim right across the street. Rooms are quite decent is size! (Huge compared to normal room size in France). Best is that a bus directly stops right near the hotel that takes you all the way upto Nice old town for just 2 Euros!

Bit far from old town but no other complaints as such

I was delighted with my two night stay at Hotel Le Dauphin, with a splendid view of the sea and nearby beaches, and on the first floor. The hotel was clean throughout and in a perfect location, near the city centre of Menton. I also loved the food for supper, although it was fairly expensive. But I would very much like to stay here again, perhaps within the next few weeks. Many thanks to everyone.

No complaints at all.

The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly, very helpful, very polite. The view from our room and the balcony was stunning. Couldn't have wished for better. The coffee at breakfast was lovely.

Just a couple of minor tweaks could've made this excellent. The safety deposit box was broken, which wasn't ideal. The lady on reception did offer usage of the safe in the managers office. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It would've been idyllic to sit on the beautiful balcony with a coffee when getting up in the morning.

Great friendly staff, couldn't fault the hotel. Location approx. 10 minutes from the Casino and close to the Riva Hotel and Big Boss bar. Balcony great, but you will get some road noise. Ps,Hope the chamber maid found the 3 bars of unopened artisan chocolate we forgot about and left in the mini bar !

Shower was only a waist high one unless you hold it above your head. No big deal though.

Returning guests. We love this hotel. The staff is very friendly and happy to have a quick chat when it's not busy. Rooms are a good size, modern bathroom and rainfall shower. There is a buffet for breakfast with freshly baked bread and pastries, fresh fruits, cured meat, cheese and cereal so something for all tastes. This year they also had the bistrot open for dinner and the quality of the food is very good and very fairly priced. Walking distance from the old town, pedestrian area, around 20min. There is small beach literally in front of the hotel, or a bigger one 5 min walk. Highly recommended.
