Old town guest house is a little gem tucked away in the old town section of Malacca, reasonably close to the heritage sights. The decor is quirky & unique, with small, but clean and comfortable rooms. The hosts are wonderful people and treat you like family. Mr. Chua gave me a printed map of the heritage sights and advised me of how to navigate it through the day. He did not try to sell any tours and recommended that we walk everywhere. When we were leaving, his wife packed us some homemade snacks for our journey to Cameron highlands. This thoughtful gesture was over and above the daily breakfast included in the room price.

I liked everything.

Thanks to Chua is my holiday in Malaysia just great. He gave me lots of useful tips and recommendations and we are still in touch. His guesthouse maybe doesn't reflect the latest design trends, but it's comfy, clean and just a few steps from the city center. What's more, Chua is such a great host that he will share breakfast with you and always make something special. It may be a small thing, but especially if you are a solo traveller, you can appreciate it. These things make you feel like home and are a proof, that good people are everywhere around the world, no matter where you are.

Honestly, the hidden gem in Malacca ✨️ From laughter & a home feel, to taking care of us as if we were their children. We needed a late check-in, as we were driving in after work from Iskander Puteri - we were immediately told that would be sorted. We were given advice on where to go, and had the beautiful fortune of staying at the same time as 3 sisters who were just as friendly. They were repeat and local guests, so that is telling. There is a mini library, swing chairs to lounge in, and an adorably quaint kitchen. Both hot and cold water showers are available [I prefer completely cold]. We had accidentally booked a double room, but were offered a twin room upon arrival. I needed to borrow a hairdryer and that was immediately offered to me upon request. So much was done for us, it was so appreciated! We had an extremely early check out, and were given such care in the process. They were still checking in on me, after having left because I had some challenges with my airline. The care was above and beyond. Location was central to every attraction we wanted to go to ✨️ Thank you for a little home away from home! Highly recommended!

So where shall I start 🤔 We arrived very late due to our bus being delayed, and the host stayed up to greet us. Everything was just perfect. I felt like I was a child again 😔 just felt like home 🏡 Nothing was too much trouble they put their guests first 24/7 The host gave us a map of malacca telling us of all the places to go . We have been travelling for a month and have stayed in many places, but this is on the top of my list . Clean Comfortable Kind Breakfast was a lovely treat 😋 I was sad to leave 😞 I would 💯 recommend this place 👌

Everything, the owners Chua and his lovely wife Maria are the perfect hosts who cannot do enough for their guests. Chua has a wealth of knowledge to help with guests onward travels if they need any guidance, we did. We stayed there 2 years ago and he gave us great advice as to where to travel after Melacca and he has done so again this time ! The guesthouse is immaculate. Last but not least is Maria's baking of Bananna and chocolate cakes, which are superb. We only hope we will be able to return a third time. Fantastic place and a lovely lovely couple.

Stay in the heart of Malacca in true original style at Old Town Guest House. The guest house provides a homey feeling that truly sets it apart. We spent our mornings chatting over a big breakfast, which included delightful banana cake, and thanks to Mr. Choa's excellent hospitality and detailed insights about the city, we felt right at home. The location is unbeatable—just walking distance to the top spots in Malacca. Exploring the city was a breeze, and every step revealed new charms. The cozy ambiance, personalized service, and attention to detail make Old Town Guest House a standout choice for anyone visiting Malacca.

Omg this Guesthouse was amazing!! It has a very good location (away from Tourist noise) and you are in the centre 10min Walking! Maria, the host, is so lovely and makes sure you have everything you need!! She makes her own banana bread and even gave me some to take to the Airport. Communication also works with the owner via WhatsApp and he helps with any questions. The Guesthouse is very Clean (i had my own bathroom but the shared facilities are also great). Highly recommend and would come again! Thanks Maria and owner :)!!

Nothing, it was great.

My husband and I have been to many guesthouses around the world, but this one is definitely at the top of our list. Our hosts are such lovely people, Maria's banana cake and biscuits are world champions, but most importantly we felt at home from the first moment we arrived. The guest house is very well located, 5 minutes from the centre, 1-1 minutes from supermarkets, local market and eateries (authentic Indian, Chinese, Malay restaurants). We had a great time and thank you for everything.

The internet was a bit slow, but it is the service provider, we had a problem with the data on our own SIM card, so the guest house is not to blame for the problem.

The hostel is very nice and picturesque with a short walking distance to the old city center. Hosts were lovely, very friendly with lots of tips for Malacca and our further travel. They made the best banana bread we ever had and they gave us some of it together with a pack of Malacca coffee for our long journey to Mersing. We just loved the vibe of the place and it was very clean and comfortable. If we ever return to Melacca, we will def stay here again.

All was nice, the only thing we did not like is, that we stayed there just 2 nights as it was so pleasant there :)

The owners are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay in their guesthouse and Melaka. They even gave me some fresh banana cake to take with me for my trip back to KL! The guesthouse is very well located just a few minutes away from the historical town center. The room was basic, but big and clean. The bed was very comfortable as well. Breakfast was served in the common area and there was plenty to choose from. All of this for a very reasonable price. Would definitely stay again.

If I have to be picky, the furniture in the room was very basic and dated, but that is just part of the charm.
