The surroundings and location was amazing, ambient, and tranquil. The room was nice and clean. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and polite, which for me was very important, so hats off to them! I'll be definitely coming here again
The food could have been a little better in terms where I ordered a lamb shank with gravy which was a little runny, and pasta was slightly bland and sweet but above all everything else was perfect! The waiter at the restaurant was so kind and sincere, where he did a special birthday surprise on the desert that I ordered and didn't charge me for it, such warm loving staff!

It's really friendly and helpful staff were lovely. The quality of the food was very good. The location to the cotswolds, and other places to visit was very convenient. The bedrooms and public areas are nice. The view from the front terrace relaxing. We had a very pleasant stay and would willingly return.
Areas of the hotel, especially outside needed investment. We booked a standard double room, which we found too small and claustrophobic. However, our request for a larger room, which we were happy to pay for, was readily accompanied. The bedrooms could do with ongoing maintenance, lose toilet seat, fans not working etc.. All small points which didn't distract for a pleasant stay.

This Hotel is totally delightful. Beautiful building in beautiful grounds more like a mini stately home. Nice warm welcome and a misunderstanding over booking sorted out. Our room (the swan) was absolutely stunning. Balcony with a view over the grounds down to the lake. After walk around around the beautiful historic grounds we had an excellent had an excellent dinner and a couple of drinks. Good night sleep and a really good well cooked breakfast. Staff were wonderful. Over all this is a great hotel for a couple of days or over night stop for anyone as the prices listed are quite surprising. I don't want to go into too much detail as this a gem you need to discover yourselves. Make sure you book the room you want yourself and not rely on 3 way communications. Also weather dependent make the most of the grounds.
Communication between Booking.com and the hotel lead to a misunderstanding. This shouldn't reflect on the the over all Hotel experience. The bars are a little soulless when there are few residents. Nobodies fault.

Stanton Hotel is wonderful, a lovely mansion house set in it's own grounds with acres to wander around and beautiful countryside all around. Incredibly quiet, calming and peaceful. Staff were very polite and helpful. Our Superior Room (#303) was on the second floor with a small lift available for those who prefer not to take the stairs. The room is a lovely size just under the roof, with a small en suite bathroom. It was nice to have a double bed (rather than singles pushed together) and lovely clean duvet. Plenty of drawers available to put clothes and other personal items away. Breakfast was buffet style, full English and continental and available until 10am, allowing for a leisurely start in the mornings. On the morning of departure we got directions to walk from the hotel to the adjacent Stanton Park, where there are miles of well maintained trails to explore. Top tip to walk from the hotel to Stanton Park: grab a free map & go out of the restaurant and turn right. Walk into the walled garden, past the metal gazebo and keep going down to the far wall where you'll find a secluded, tranquil pond. Take the path on the left to leave the hotel grounds and then left again onto the nearby trail which leads to a car park. From there you can find trails to explore.
The over-bath mixer shower was difficult to maintain at a consistent temperature, as it kept fluctuating wildly. I eventually gave up and ran a bath instead. I noticed a wasp nest entrance on the roof outside one of the two windows in the room and reported it to the staff. One member came up to confirm its location and said it would be immediately reported to pest control, so hopefully it will be gone by the time anyone reads this review. To confirm, we slept in the room both nights of our visit and our sleep was undisturbed.

Being able to upgrade on arrival for a reasonable price. The view from the hotel out onto the park and lake. The room and balcony was fantastic! The building was lovely and there was plenty of parking close by. Food was of a decent standard for the price.
The menu for the restaurant seemed to be the same as room service, which was limited as was the wine list. Although the restaurant was quite a large space with plenty of individual tables, the waiting staff seemed to prefer to only use certain tables. It would have been nice not to sit so close to other people we didn’t know.

paid £60ish for a room in feb Friday night which isn’t bad, breakfast was a bit pricey at £15 each, would rather pay extra for the room and have breakfast included. Staff were very nice and welcoming but felt like they are a struggling business trying to survive.
Small things could be done to take this up a notch, fittings loose in bathroom etc. Shower wasn’t the best for temperature. One step above cold shower 😬 This aside a nice place to stay with nice views but don’t pay more than £70 a night, you’ll feel disappointed.

Stanton House Hotel is set beside Stanton Country Park overlooking a small fishing lake with multiple trail paths around it to explore. The hotel is an old Cotswold building next to a beautiful church. It is comfortable, clean and our room had a view of the drive up to the front of the hotel looking out into the country park. The food and drink offered was good and there was plenty of choice. Breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful, attentive and discreet making it a very relaxing stay. Thank you for making it a memorable weekend away.
Nothing.

Excellent location for what I required. Have stayed here before and will stay again if in the area. The house and grounds are quite excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. Not sure about having to pre-order my meals but the when they arrived all our meals were excellent
Lift did not work, and although offered a ground floor room, not really acceptable. Really wanted a decent pint of beer but none available at the bar, only lager.! Do not like having to pre-order my meals although to be fair the meals arrived very promptly once we were seated.

Beautiful building with great atmosphere. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Everywhere was very clean, especially the bedroom and bathroom. The superior bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bed comfortable. We had breakfast which was buffet style for 2 of them plated for the other. The food was well cooked and there was a good range.
Our Superior room only had 4 coat hangers in a small alcove which could take only a few clothes, there were no drawers capable of storing clothes, and the very small bedside tables had only a small drawer. The windows in the room (211) were at a fairly high level and whilst there was a lovely view, my partner, who is 4' 10" could not admire it. We had an evening meal on the first evening but we're disappointed with the food being only warm and the vegatables being under-cooked.

We booked this as our wedding venue and it was perfect for it. Nice rooms, staff and location is really nice for photos and walks. All you can eat breakfast had plenty of options.
I think the receptionist could be less gruff but she may have just been having a bad day, although several people commented to me that they thought she was a bit funny (not amusing funny) Not the hotel's fault but when people order buffets to let them know they get a lot and we ended up with waste which was a shame. We couldn't open the terrace doors on the honeymoon suite. But not a major problem as it was December.
