Property is well situated within easy reach of all the main attraction. There are escalator bang opposite the hotel which takes you up 5 stairs of flight, so save you a good walk. Property’s decor feels a bit old style, but the room was comfortable and the staff was excellent. There is paid parking available opposite to the property, website says parking available it does not specify that it is ten euro’s paid parking

Old style decor, but everyone’s taste can be different

Hotel Moderno was easy to get to from the main train station although the 20 minute walk is mostly along quite busy roads. Our room was small but comfortable and clean and the staff were all very cheerful and friendly. The breakfast was extremely good, with a variety of cold meats, cheeses, cakes, pastries, cereal, yogurt etc. The centre of Siena is just 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel via escalators just across the road. We took a day trip from Siena to the 1,000 year old walled hill town of Monteriggioni (train and 40 minute walk), which I highly recommend.

Unfortunately the restaurant at the hotel was closed when we were there (early November) but it wasn't really a problem as there are plenty of places to eat in Siena. There was also an issue with an extra night being added to our bill by mistake, even though we had pre-booked via Booking.com, but this was eventually sorted out OK.

In general we were satisfied with the hotel. The receptionists are extremely nice and helpful, the location is pretty central - the old town is just right at the door. We appreciated the parking opportunity since it was the only one private parking we had found in the center.

Our room was rather noisy unfortunately since the windows went to a central street. Parking is a bit complicated using garages where parking cars may need to be moved so that other parking cars behind them can leave. For breakfast we missed any vegetables - they did not offer any unfortunately. We had a small issue with the restaurant of the hotel at dinner for waiting long to be able to order but upon raising it the personal was absolutely helpful and addressed it right away, so that was totally alright.

The hotel is very conveniently located near the escalators that bring * you right into the centre of Siena . Parked the car just outside the hotel , €10 a day. We were there early. Very friendly and helpful front of house man Gabriel , who helped with the parking bags and made us feel very welcome. Great breakfast and we’re able to leave car for an extra hour while we did some more exploring

The hotel is old fashioned but with a lot of charm

Just outside of the historic center, however close and within walking distance to all the major sights. Approximately a 10 minute walk to il Campo (main Square). Very convenient electric escalators, just outside the hotel, to have easy access to the main Square. Nice and quiet. Decent breakfast included.

Could have been a little bit more clean. Specially, the floors.

The location gave easy access to the very heart of the city centre through 5 flights of escalators which one simply crossed the road to access. from .the entry to the Hotel. - You were in the City in the space of a few minutes. The breakfast was sumptuous and set in an enchanting garden. The room was a miracle of cleanliness: daily cleaned and linen of pristine freshness. .

Perhaps a fan in the bedroom would have helped on those unusually warm days.

Good location for old city. Breakfast was nice - no hot food but still enough choice. Room air conditioner was working well for both heating and cooling. Beds basic but we slept well. Nice big bathroom with lovely hot powerful shower. Opening window to bedroom.

Very noisy school group were allowed to run along corridors and make excessive noise until around 11pm. No one seemed to ask them to be quiet.

Hotel very nice, staff very friendly , we also enjoyed the location , few steps to stairs to the old city , we had also private parking in front of hotel , for 3 stars hotel - it was ha perfect experience, I am very very happy and definitly recommend them Love and thanks a lot Special thanks and love to Miara in the reception and to Gabriel in the restaurant, both made our stay there extraordinary!! Everything OK - no cons , only pros

Location was great, can walk here from the train station takes around 20 minutes if you have baggage it is downhill which makes the walk up a little harder but it’s not too steep. Closely located to the old city and you can access it via escalators which is great as you’ll do a lot of walking once inside the old city. Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable. We did not eat breakfast due to having other plans so cannot comment on that. Offer to store your luggage if you arrive before check in.

We unexpectedly extended our stay in Siena and booked this hotel last minute. Staff were very kind, breakfast (although starchy as is the norm in Italy) was lovely both out doors and in (one day of rain). Location is literally across the street from the escalators up into the city which was very convenient. Rooms are very clean and bed was comfy.

There is traffic noise if you have street facing room - but the city shuts down early so it was not a problem. We had a problem with the A/C leaking water onto the floor which the staff were very apologetic about but no one came to fix. They did provide extra towels and the A/C still worked so it was ok. The rooms are dated but they are clean and well appointed.
