Quite simply, everything went well!100% of the staff were an important part of a tight knit and well run machine. That machine was a very personable, competent and caring team;nothing seem to faze any single member.Very impressed by its members skills in multi tasking! All food served was cooked and presented in a very imaginative format, far from the "everyday" fare on offer in most establishments. We were very happy that we chose the Seckle room positioned in the garden area.Everything had been well thought out in terms of needs for sleeping, showering etc, even including the provision of a supply of oat milk and Pear Tree own label coffee sachets. Any minor query re bathroom workings (we are technophobes) was dealt with immediately. Caring and professional in all aspects.

The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of exciting options - I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Dinner exceeded all expectations, and the wine selection was excellent. The accommodation was a pleasant surprise; both my wife and I had a wonderfully restful sleep, especially compared to other places with less comfortable bouncy beds.
While the meal and wine were a bit on the pricey side and slightly beyond my usual budget, the experience was well worth it. Staying at the charming in offered a beautifully restful retreat that made a memorable and worthwhile indulgence.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was gorgeous, both dinner and breakfast exceeded our expectations and the whole ambience of the place was excellent. We didn't have such great weather for our stay so we didn't use the garden but it was really lovely and would have been a wonderful place to sit out in warm weather. The vegetable garden next to the beer garden was really great, full of interesting looking vegetables and herbs which I guess ended up in the cooking. As dog owners we really liked the fact that the rooms were in the garden area so we were easily able to go in and out at all times of day. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and really comfortable.
There were just a couple of little niggles in the room which would have made our stay even better. Firstly, there were only two bags of English breakfast tea, another couple would have been nice. We were given a flask of milk to have with our tea. That was fine for the evening but by the morning the milk had completely gone off, it was more the consistency of yoghurt and just separated when poured into the cup so one of our precious cups of tea was ruined! The towel room in the bathroom wasn't turned on when it really needed to be, there were clear signs of damp in the bathroom.

Really good choices for dinner - lots of Gluten Free options. The menu was diverse and was not just the run of the mill items you see on so many menus. The crab starter and sole main were especially good, as was the Pork Chop - which had the largest potato fondant i have ever seen! Portion sizes are extremely generous and service was very efficient and friendly. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and the eggs benedict was delicious - really good ham, not the thin tasteless ham you often get in many places.
Be careful if booking later in the evening - when we finished we would have liked some fresh coffee, but the kitchen had shut down the machine.

Lovely building, lots of character. Bed was amazingly soft and comfortable - fantastic night's sleep. Check in was easy and quick. Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival and showed us personally to our room. Will visit again most definitely.
Breakfast didn't start till 7:30 and when we said we needed to leave at 7 an alternative breakfast option wasn't offered (something we have been offered elsewhere when needing to leave early - pastries, cereal etc not hot cooked food but an alternative we could help ourselves to before leaving.)

Beautiful inn, lovely attentive staff, unique yummy food, stunning draft beers, quiet and specious room. Lots of character! Magical setting, fire places and rooms above inn, smell like a fresh spa. Gorgeous storing space and very useful radiator. Also fresh pastries, straight from the kitchen! And lots of thought was put in details, from food to rooms. Making the beds daily, while you're still in breakfast. Felt like there're fairies in the building :)
Pillows extremely thin, a bit sac of potatoes-y, bed too soft and springy for our taste and sofa bed has lumpy 3 noticeable parts, pokes in the back. Found previous guest scrunchie poking from underneath the bed, bathtub could use a bit of refreshing, windows need a bit of mold removing and struggling with slow TV and unstable remote control. But overall magical positive experience that overshadows it all! Thank you for having us.

choice and quality of breakfast excellent. Overall service excellent. Delightful attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Great atmosphere. Great location and pretty surroundings, lovely setting. Glad to have heater in our room as evenings were getting chilly.
Evening meal menu was a bit limited if staying for longer than one or two nights. Bar area was not specially comfortable, a bit chilly by the door and not very cosy to sit and wait for dinner or for after dinner drinks.

Everything! The room was well decorated, cosy and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was possibly one of the tastiest I have had in recent years and the meal we had in your restaurant was equally good. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful and friendly & would highly recommend your establishment.
The wood fire wasn’t working properly which was disappointing as the dining room lacked warmth and atmosphere as a result. Ps: living in Europe has made me very spoilt with regard to efficient underfloor heating so I’m always cold in England when I visit.

Awesome room with a nice bath and large bed. The complimentary sweets were really awesome. Breakfast was very good, as it is in most of England. Parking lot is big and the place is easy to reach. The 'new' owners really went above and beyond to bring new life into this place. Every room comes with a history book that tells you about their struggle, and you can see for yourself that they really made it work.
The town itself is nothing special (no offense meant). I went for a walk through the town in the evening on a nice summer evening, but there was no one around and it felt like it was at least 30 years past its peak.

Loved my stay at the Pear tree. Staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. I loved the home made granola and selection of fruit, yoghurt and other continental bits to help yourself to. The hot breakfast was also fantastic and great portion sizes, and many dishes to choose from including traditional English breakfast, home made pancakes, eggy bread and many more. We didn't have dinner but looks forward to coming back for dinner sometime, if it is half as good as breakfast then I am sure it will be lovely. I enjoyed having a drink in the cosy bar area and would liked to have spent more time there. Also lots of lovely outdoor seating areas for nicer weather.
Only fault I could find and this just a personal thing is the headboard on the bed looked a little grubby. I feel like it would be better replaced with an easier to clean surface such as leather.
