It’s a beautiful period building with lots of original features. Great location in the village so easy to get to local shops and restaurants. Evening meal was lovely. Locally sourced food and home made bread. Room was a little cramped and bathroom tiny. Fine for our one night stay.
The staff were all lovely but there weren’t enough when we checked in late afternoon. Receptionist was having to answer the phone, check guests in and serve drinks at the bar. She summoned help for dinner time and that was fine. We were happy to be patient but it could have been annoying.

pleasant stay , comfortable room and very quiet. Checkin starightforward enough , but once I had umpacked , I was then told I had been put in the wrong room and was asked If I would mind moving to another room. Straightforward enough , so not a big issue . Room was clean, bathroom with bath appreciated. Nice village Castle Donington, have been in the area many times but never actually been in the village. Several good pubs and a couple of takeaways .Will stay here at Donington manor again when down that way again. Thanks

Grace in reception was very nice and accomodating. Room and bed were very comfortable. We didnt eat in dining room but had an excellent meal in nags head about a mile or so up the road, and left hotel at 5 am so way to early for breakfast, will definately use donington manor again as it really close to east/mids airport, we live in south wales and usually travel up over night but decidedd to use twilight booking in so needed somewhere local to stay...we were not disappointed, and will definately be bookin again for next sept...thanks again to staff at donington manor hotel!
Bedside lamp wasnt workin and had to get out of bed to turn light off

My room was very clean and comfortable. The food at dinner and lunch was excellent. The owner and all the staff were very friendly and extremely attentive, catering to all the needs of everyone in our party. We all had a fabulous time. I would certainly consider staying here again.
The hotel was a little tired in places but, speaking with the hotel owner he said that he is now concentrating on working hard to bring the hotel up to a much better standard and I believe that he will be true to his word.

We loved the hotel, our rooms were great, the service and the staff were exceptional and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They ordered our taxi's for the morning to take us to the Races and the kitchen was closed later that evening but they arranged for us to have a curry delivered to the hotel and when they forgot to deliver the rice, James the owner went out and collected them himself! James was a fantastic host and his staff (especially the barman) couldn't do enough for us to ensure we had a wonderful time, thank you to you all!
The shower, we had no hot water and the pressure of the water was very low but I would still stay here again!

I liked how friendly it was and I liked the size and grandeur of my rooms. The bed was large and comfortable and the dressing table/ drinks station was very pretty. I loved that my room had an old fashioned key 🗝️, which was easy to grip and didn't disappear when put into my bag.
I didn't like the poor décor in my room, especially the bathroom. The shower was only luke warm, and the bathroom floor has started to degrade and the unevenness was a real hazard to me, more especially as I am disabled. The curtains in both rooms were difficult to open and close, and in the bathroom they were very shabby. One of the curtain hold backs was missing in my bedroom and the arm chair was being used to hold it open! When I ordered an 'off' menu snack from the owner my 'Hot Chicken' sandwich and chips, became sliced white bread and chicken mayonnaise sandwich with chips. The price was reduced a little, but I still only had chips for my meal.

I would recommend this hotel for sure! The staff here are so friendly, polite and helpful ... Always a smile and a greeting at the door when you come in/leave. And they were super lovely with my dog making him feel comfortable in a new place with treats and claps every time they saw him, he had a great time here.
The only downside to this hotel was that there was some damaged items in the room I was given, nothing too major just little chips/scratches but it did affect the look of the room a little bit. Everything else was really good though and just what I needed for the few days I was visiting.

All staff were exceptionally helpful and friendy. We were travelling with a granddaughter with very limited eating habits. The extensive menu of fabulous food which all the adults in our party enjoyed had nothing plain enough for our 11 year old. This was remedied by the owner of the hotel going out in the pouring rain, buying pasta and a simple tomato sauce which was then prepared cheerfully by the excellent chef and served free of charge!
The bedrooms are being improved - a little like staying in a family home which is idue for a bit of upgrading. One of our rooms had been refurbished and very nicely too; the other was very tired but spotlesssly clean. The fabulous food and outstanding staff more than made up for this. I do wish the hotel every sucess and hope they are able to fund a full refurbishment.

I can not explain how amazing the hosts were. I've stayed in 5 star hotels with never before had the most attentive experience before. James the owner went completely above and beyond, nothing was any trouble polite. We were allowed to eat our takeaway in the bar area, he put music on. The service was the most professional but also so very kind, we will definitely be back! The room was a triple room with a lovely view of the lit tree and street. Very spacious. We didn't have the breakfast in the end but I heard the other customers commenting how lovely it was. See you again. If you want outstanding service in the lovely old hotel in a lovely little town close by to Derby & Nottingham definitely choose this one!
Nothing everything exceeded our stay.

The suite was spacious and I enjoyed the decor! 😊 Reception manager was very welcoming and helpful. The bed was softer than I prefer, but still provided a good night's sleep. My eggs and bacon breakfast was delicious. Parking on the grounds was helpful.
The "hot" water was cold and so was the shower (even though the reception manager informed me of the fact that the boiler was next door to my room).
