the hotel is very classy, big rooms, the facility is well equipped and feels luxurious and welcoming. the small bonuses such as a bubbly at the welcome and the smur kit (with the fireplaces outside) were unexpected and made this visit unforgettable.

the receptionist who welcomed us was very unkind to us and made us feel unwanted (!!). it felt as she was either having a bad day or just didn't want us to stay at the hotel (for no reason..). fortunately one of the bellboys managed to overcome that and chased us (!!) with the glass of bubbly which was supposed to be offered to us upon checking in. As a very frequent traveler, the check-in experience affects 50% of the overall experience, and this one was surely extremely bad. all the rest was simply perfect!

Every member of the staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful.

The power going off on Saturday night, but that was not your fault. We can all be thankful that it was not a hot, muggy night or Sunday morning. All in all, you handled it very well. Also we found a large charge on our bill (it was sent to us by email) that did not belong to us. Your staff handled it very politely and ultimately removed it from the bill. What I did not get was an explanation on how it got there.

Loved the setting of the hotel. Prime location! The landscaping and outdoor seating arrangements were very impressive. The interior of the hotel was detailed with top level finishes throughout! The rooms were spacious, very functional, and comfortable. Great decor throughout. Absolutely great potential for an extraordinary hotel.

Understaffed. This hotel has so much potential but it took so long to be served in each and every dining facility. Enjoyed the Yoga and Stretch classes. Also, nice touch to present hotel guest with a glass of Champagne. Overall, a great experience.

the staff was very helpful and very friendly..changed a light bulb in the bathroom in a very timely manner made up the room very quickly

Our breakfast was just ok.. the cappuccino was not very good and my yogurt parfait definitely left a lot to be desired …my husband’s first cup of coffee was not hot but his breakfast was fine. The Sand Bar food was much better than the Rose Tavern and the staff there was delightful

That is the only thing I didn’t like. The line to get coffee was so long and there was only one person at the counter. Many guests in line were complaining about the service. Why not have a self serve coffee decanter? The Rose Tavern and the Sand Bar restaurants were outstanding.

Unable to contact the property. No one answers the phone for the Inn or the spa. Coffee line ridiculously long.

Staff was professional and helpful. Facilities were very comfortable (although our room faced the front parking lot....not what we'd requested and thought we paid for). Food and food service was great.

Pool could be bigger. For the number of guests you host, it's too small.

Was disappointed that the room was not totally serviced every day. I had to ask that the towels be replaced and our bed was not made between day one and our second day at the Hotel. This is what I would expect from a Motel 6, but not from a hotel of this caliper and price.

The property is stunning and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was spectacular- the best steak we’ve ever had was at the Rose Tavern. Even on a rainy day, there was a ton of games to play in the library bar and enjoy a delicious cocktail.

We wish there was one more quick service/cafe option for food on the property for grab and go items throughout the day.

The Lake House on Canandaigua was a great surprise. The staff were amazing and catered to your every need in a timely manor. The Bellhop Mike was exceptional giving great advice about restaurants. The staff always had a smile. The room was very clean and most comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the lake and the pool. We will be coming back again in the future for sure.

Great area, very nice room, friendly staff, nice overall facility.

Our balcony was on the north side of the North Cottage, meaning that we didn't have a very good view. The fitness center was a bit small and somewhat limited, especially with only a single bench.
