Lovely staff and good location although very close to a busy road and noise from road is heard. Nice pool which wasn’t too cold but needed more thorough cleaning as had many leaves and bits of debris from garden…also work being done on edge of pool for at least 2 days. Breakfast was good and served fresh. All water and food products in room had to be paid for. Nice products available to use in bathroom.

Pool could have been cleaner and drinking water should be free on a daily basis. Noise from road nearby can be heard so if you need tranquility then maybe this is not the place to stay.

Glen Avon Lodge is an old-fashioned boutique hotel located in a beautiful part of Constantia. It is peaceful and surrounded by well-kept gardens. Unfortunately I was there for only one night, so my review won’t be that helpful, but I feel it is the sort of place where you should stay for a few days to really enjoy the facilities to the full.

The building itself is some years old and I seem to remember only goes up two floors. However, there are no lifts. Whilst this was not a problem for me personally, it might be an issue for the more elderly guests. That said, I would not be at all surprised if there are helpful staff available to carry your luggage for you.

Our stay at Glen Avon Lodge for two nights was a lovely retreat. Our room was so comfortable and very thoughtfully designed. We had all we needed. Even dressing gowns. The property is in a lovely area filled with beautiful gardens and trees. Close to restaurants so we were able to walk to one at night and feel safe. The breakfast provided was delightfully displayed and absolutely delicious from the sweet ripe fruits right through to the continental and hot breakfast. A banquet for sure. We enjoyed sundowners and breakfast on the balcony over looking manicured flower gardens 👌🏻 We will definitely stay again. Such service and comfortable affordable accomodation is a delight to find. A credit to all we dealt with there. Thank you 🌸

We received a very warm and friendly welcome. Check-in was very fast, and the room was very comfortable. The WiFi was excellent. I had an 8 hour ZOOM meeting, and the Internet did not drop once. Impressive. Breakfast was also very good and we were well looked after by Ashley and Tobias. The manager, Lisa, was there when we checked out and again a very warm greeting and farewell. We'll definitely stay here again.

Such a well taken cared of property. All is so so pretty and staff is so nice!!!! Situated in Constantia and amazing to discover the city. Views of table mountain while falling asleep and waking up!! Wow !!!

The only little suggestion … and I mean little ../ is having a liiiiitle bit more at breakfast. But I’m being picky!!

We both enjoyed the country house ambiance. Although the weather was wet and windy it did not spoil our stay. Our room was quiet and overlooked the pool and beautiful garden. In the summer months we could envisage sitting on the large balcony or enjoying a cocktail around the pool. The team of staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was great too. Freshly cooked or a lovely choice of yogurt and cereal and fruit. A real find. Thank you all for a wonderful rest in a very comfortable bed. It was a beautiful and quiet location with a nice garden, clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was served outside whenever the weather allowed it. It was freshly prepaired. Staff and owner were all superfriendly.

Breakfast was the same every day and it would have been nice to have some more variety. The pool water was too cold so we could not use it.

Big, comfortable rooms, kept clean and welcoming by the friendly staff. Glen Avon is in a safe and excellent location for getting around Cape Town. For those who want somewhere in walking distance to eat or get a drink I’d also recommend the Peddlars pub a stone’s throw away

Everything was fine

The rooms and shared areas are beautifully appointed, the bathrooms and toiletries luxurious, the beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast is lovely and dinner was top class. However, it is the efficiency and graciousness of the staff that make this hotel unique and a gem. Thank you!

We enjoyed the breakfast and also had a fine dinner on one of the evenings. Our room was a garden suite with a mini-kitchen which was both spacious and comfortable. Staff were great - friendly and attentive and well-trained to make one feel at home.
