Love everything about the place only missed out on a barbecue or braai on our stay. As it was raining we could.not braai down stairs in the then weather.

There were no braai facilities close by it is all down stairs would be great if they could put in a braai. There is a patio without a roof where we could have done our braai. Unfortunately we were not allowed to bring the bushbaby braai stand up to our apartment. Jacuzzi is also out of order. However we understood its being fixed.

I felt right at home staying at this property. I am a 28 year old female and traveled by myself. I felt very safe staying here and the surrounding area was lovely! The owner was lovely and made me feel very welcome. There were recommendations, from the owner, for restaurants around the area which were very helpful. The view from my room was also breathtaking. I would never get sick of waking up to that everyday. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is spacious, clean and gorgeous 😍 The location is absolutely breath taking! We arrived to a heated room which was much appreciated as it was a cold winter’s day with rainy weather. The extra blankets available in the cupboard came in handy. The kitchen had everything we needed and the host, John, is extremely friendly and helpful!

It would have been nice to have the fire going in the fireplace but John explained that the gas store for the fire was closed as it was a public holiday. There are round fittings on the bedroom and bathroom ceilings. We inspected the one on the bedroom ceiling and it had a red light which made us a bit suspicious that there could be cameras but I hope it was just our paranoia from watching too many horror movies 🙈

Location was good, the apartment was also very good, with the most incredible views of the Indian ocean. Our host John was lovely, very friendly, polite and went out of his way to help, we all had a fabulous stay at Penguiden.

We didn't have any problems or dislikes, apart from my teenage grandson commenting on WiFi being a bit slow one night he was wanting to watch a UK football game, this was quickly rectified by John, and we all watched the game.

View was amazing.

Its just a bedroom in a house, I expected more of a hotel vibe.

Perfect location, really nice host. We could see the whales from our bedroom jumping. I will never forget the view. The room is gigantic with 3 bathrooms.

To be honest, It's a bit old fashioned but in a good way. You could feel the wind bashing on the building. The beds are not very long (I'm 2M). I had to sleep diagonal. But I will sleep on the floor to have that view and a chance to spot the Southern right whale again.

Space for family to eat together. Host very helpful , shared his heater when gas ran out of fireplace

That bottom apartment was rented out the same time as ours ~… same entrance and our upstairs apartment was open to the entrance stairwell … had to smell their fish dinner🤨 Under beds , behind curtains needed a clean - outside bbq area needed a tidy and upgrade too

The location is perfect and easy to find, which is near to Penguins Boulder and Good Hope Cape, we made our trip these two days and really enjoyed staying in John’s accommodation. John and his staff are welcoming and warm, I like the breakfast he prepared for us, making our stay much more like at home. And the solar system in house is convenient, you can regardless of load shedding and enjoy your stay. Wi-Fi is was strong. The view is so amazing, even in cloudy days. But I’m pretty sure we should come again in clean, sunny days if have another vocation to SA.

Nothing at all. The rooms are cozy and large, fully equipped, which you can get anything you want (before you request). I have to say John tried his best to serve a perfect place for tourists. Thank you John!

really loved the stay in Penguin den.. it’s like a healing stay for me, with tranquil peaceful environment and people, I really literally fell in love with this cozy house. the view from the royal suite was superbly beautiful, every morning I woke up with awe of sunrise, pink clouds, playful birds around the hill, and in the evening I saw the Milky Way in the sky. my heart was filled with love and happiness, just seeing and staying in the room alone. It was like a heaven… I think Penguin den is a place for being productive, reflective, recovering for anyone who wants have time for themselves. John is super lovely kind guy, I even met Stefano, these guys make the place more special. I really appreciate to their kindness and treat me like a friend, I had hard time during my trip in Cape Town and they mentally saved me a lot. thank you John & Stefano.

The views are exceptional from Sunset to sunrise. The apartment has everything you need for a stop over. John the host is knowledgeable and interacted with the kids and us with recommendations for dinner etc. Easy to find and easy process to get keys.
