The cottage is nicely situated in a quiet area with great views for and aft. It is well equipped with all the appliances and comforts of home. We could have travelled lighter had we known of the amenities available in the cottage. The decor speaks volumes of the owners endeavours to make a home from home experience for their guests. The Christmas tree, decorations and lights were an unexpected seasonal touch. Lynette, who we were unable to meet due to family commitments, communicated exceptionally and kept us informed of local news helping us to plan our days.

We loved our stay at Hillside cottage. The host, Lynette, was so friendly and welcoming and made sure that we had a wonderful stay. The place was well kitted out. The views were beautiful and we were close to the town and nearby hiking trails. We will definitely be back!

This home is probably the best holiday accommodation I've stayed at. We all loved it. It was *exceptionally* clean and well maintained. The kitchen is better stocked than most people's and there was everything from small blankets to an array of board games to make the stay extra cosy. The hosts are also extremely friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Nothing to fault!

The quiet quaint cottage away from the bustle of town but close enough to park off your car and walk about to everything. Well kitted out. Home has everything incl dishwasher and tablets. Beautiful garden and birds with birdfeeders and bird food provided. The backdrop of the Mountain is stunning. Lynette's home baked cookies were delish- such a special touch. And when there was an issue with water supply the one day she even offered for us to shower at her private home a few kilometers away....

What a delight to be able to stay in such a beautiful accommodation. Lynette thought of everything! So clean and cozy, a perfect home away from home experience.

It’s a beautiful little cottage. Super comfortable and a walking distance from Clarens centre. Surrounded by lovely gardens, and has every convenience you need.

The only negative for some (but we were fully aware of this) might be the lack of wifi, but mobile data works just fine.

Our stay at Hillside Cottage was simply amazing! From the generous facilities to the amenities and all the little touches. The owners considered every single thing you could need on a mountain breakaway... The cottage features all main appliances, fresh quality linen and towelling, ample blankets, comfy beds and not to mention the attention to detail throughout the home. Exceptionally clean, neat, tidy and extra touches such as fire wood holders, ashtrays and even bird feed. Touches of art and quirky decor make you feel like you are in a home away from yours. The kitchen is well equipped and offers many extras such as warm water flasks, picnic items, baking, all cooking and braai necessities. Dishwasher and clothing washer included. Relaxing corners and nooks to the cottage create space and comfort in terms of seating as well as outside seating with patio furniture. Lush garden with mountain views and safe parking. It was a pure delight to stay at Hillside Cottage and we were even treated to freshly baked scones and homemade apricot jam. We can't wait to be back there soon.

This place exceeded our expectations by far. This was one of quite a few place we stayed during our road trip and it was absolutely delightful. Lynette is a generous host and she was very informative about the surrounding sites and even the snow forecast.

The house is private and in a beautiful location. Very close to town and all the hiking areas. We watched so many birds in the beautiful garden and there was even a box with birdseed to feed the birds. The attention to detail was exceptional. We felt immediately at home. Lynette is a kind and very helpful host. The beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped. There is even an electric cake mixer which we used! I would go back any time and will recommend it to our friends and family.

The cottage is so cozy and comfortable with everything you will need plus a few extra special amenities. Our host even left us homemade biscuits as a welcome gift. We felt very safe. The area is beautiful and quiet.

It was perfect.
