We stayed in the penthouse suite, and it was absolutely amazing! 🏖️ The room was incredibly spacious, with panoramic windows offering breathtaking views of the ocean — we even spotted whales! 🐋 Complimentary wine and a fully stocked minibar, along with a coffee machine, snacks, and fresh fruits, added a luxurious touch. The suite also featured a steam room and jacuzzi, which were fantastic for relaxing. The warm welcome with coffee and juices set the tone for a great stay ☕🧃. Breakfast was excellent, with made-to-order omelets or eggs and a delicious buffet. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. 🙌 The location was perfect — all the best restaurants are just a 5-minute walk away, and there’s an oceanfront trail ideal for walks and runs with stunning views 🌊🏃‍♂️. Highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay in Hermanus! 🌟

A small downside was that we weren’t allowed to have our child stay in the room with us, so we had to book an additional room. However, this didn’t overshadow our overall experience.

Our room was large, well appointed and spotlessly clean. The layout was quirky (bath and shower in the main room so no privacy) but that wasn't an issue for us. Super comfy bed. The aircon and wifi worked well, and the parking was secure. The staff were all very friendly and engaging- could not fault them. Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of cheese/pastries/fruit plus hot options. The omelette was very tasty. Good quality coffee. The free wine and snacks between 5-7 was a nice touch.

It was around a 10 minute walk to the main sea front/restaurants etc. Absolutely not an issue for us, but it will depend on how central you want to be. We enjoyed the quick stroll in. The room would benefit from a full length mirror.

We had a superb 3-night stay here in the penthouse suite. Everything about the hotel was exceptional - from the friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness, amazing breakfasts cooked to order, to the perfect location with stunning views and access to the cliff path/town. But the best part was the room - a huge suite on the top floor with panoramic views and incredible facilities - including a spa bath and amazing steam room/shower. It’s worth the extra money!

Firstly compliments to the owners for their amazing attention to detail with all their decor, it was absolutely amazing to experience every detailed finish. We loved the room which they so nicely upgraded from pool view to sea view with no additional charge. Obviously the jacuzzi was a bonus for absolute relaxation. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, having the best of both worlds, both cold and hot.....this kept us full the whole day until supper. The location is the best especially being so close to the shops and old harbour. After breakfast we took a beautiful stroll to old harbor and back again. Ficks restaurant was open the Friday and Saturday and its just across the road from this beautiful accomodation....

Being ground floor sea view, the passers by can look into the room if the curtains are open. I would maybe suggest a sheer drop by the sliding door as to enjoy the full room space when the curtains are open.

We loved everything! stunning location directly over the bay and on the cliff path . Definitely worth getting a room at the front for the views, and the honeymoon suite and penthouse are beautifully appointed and in our opinion worth paying a bit extra for ! Easy and safe walk into town for great food and shopping. Very elegantly decorated in communal spaces, with several comfortable seating areas . Great choice for breakfast, all very fresh , and complimentary wine 5-7 each evening. Staff all very friendly and professional, advising us on restaurants and making bookings. it was our 30th anniversary and we received a complimentary bottle of champagne which was a lovely surprise. Particular thanks to Dominique who looked after us so well, with her very personal service and extra touches .

What a lovely stay - we were here for a whole week and didn't want to leave. Everything about Hermanus Boutique Guesthouse exudes quality, peacefulness and charm. The breakfasts are lovely, served with appealing garnishes; the staff are delightful especially Marianne who manages with a calm, unflustered dignity. The location is ideal, so close to the fabulous cliff-top path and within easy walking distance of a great seletion of quality restaurants. This guesthouse fully deserves to be successful.

Very pleasant welcome, assistance with luggage, nice bright room with small balcony overlooking the sea and the bay. Plenty of room to park. Complementary glass of wine 5-7. Lovely breakfast with good choices. Less than 10 minutes walk into town with wonderful sea views on the way.

There is a steep staircase to the upper rooms. A little more storage space would be appreciated. Bath a little too large for the bathroom!

The location of the property is ideal, with wonderful sea views (if you book a sea facing unit). The staff were exceptional, and always willing to help where they could. Breakfasts were also very good and tailored to your preferences. The decor of the hotel and our room is elegant and tasteful.

Although well appointed and decorated, we expected the honeymoon suite to be larger considering the fairly high rate. On two occasions we had cold water, so it seems the geysers battle to maintain temperature at times.

Absolutely everything - location, bed, pillows, cleanliness etc. Best stay we have ever had in any hotel. So amazing. The staff went the extra mile with everything, from evening bed pull downs and chocolate on pillow plus a fresh water, to a bunch of different fresh herbs served every day at breakfast. Best stay ever. Very highly recommended.

The hotel is beautifully appointed. Very comfortable room. Lovely “wine hour” to connect with other guest (great way to find out about wineries to visit!!) Great location with parking. However, just far enough from town that we drove to dinner. Safe and an easy walk during the day.

The washroom configuration is modern and bizarre. Very little privacy. But great outdoor shower that we loved.
