Location - very close to the Rosebank Mall. It is about 8 minute walk. Alterntively they have a scheduled shutter drop and pick up every 30 mins or 1 hour. There are many bars, cafe, restaurants near the RoseBank Mall. Also there is a Police Station just across the hotel which made the location to be Safer and Ideal. Breakfast - Very Good Spread. I would have prefered couple of more Warm Vegeterian Items but the selection of Breads, Cheese, Fruit, Cereals was very good. Room - Extremely comfortable Bed and Pillow. I stayed in Junior Suite for a few Days and in the Standard Room for 1 Night. The only major difference was that the Jr Suite had much extra space and the bathroom had a Tab. Rest the Room is same. Bathroom - Clean, Neat and the Toileteries were Standard that they use at all Southern Suns Staff - Checkin and Checkout was prompt and courteous Bar - The Bar was quiet busy in the day and the night as some conference was there. They have decent good selection of the Spiritis and Beers. Room Service - I tried on couple of occassions. Service was swift and matched my expectation for the good quality.

Everything - this was a nice treat! There's barely anything I didn't like. I liked and enjoyed my time here - location, hospitality, friendly and helpful staff (I forgot my jersey at the gym and they recovered it for me), wifi, gym, athmosphere, catering and well-mannered people. Definitely coming back to this angelic place again (with someone this time around lol)

Personally, I was not a fan of the bath-shower design as I couldn't understand it. Secondly, there were no windows. That's just about it! Otherwise, I had a great time

The hotel was good and clean, breakfast was really nice

The location is very unsafe, cannot walk around the hotel due to crime.

It had everything that we wanted.

Being Scammed and held up around the corner, we were told it is common and may involve Corruption including the Police and local

Very sophisticated facility. Breakfast not very great especially the potatoes and omelette but one cannot let that ruin the overall good experience. My daughter really enjoyed her stay for her 16 birthday tour while staying there. The business area for the working people is basically an open plan office where you can work so comfortably with all the space and convenience you need.

The lady who made my daughter feel unsettled on Wednesday morning as we walked in for breakfast. She did not check that we were 2 people before making it look like she was not counted in. That felt so awkward for me with a child behind me. Imagine if there were people behind us. Would have been embarrassing. Lastly, the iron boxed tied to the ironing board must be made longer so that they can reach the socket. Leaving the place.

Proximity to the Hop On Hop Off bus was a bonus as we did opt for a 2-day ticket & returning at the end of the day of sightseeing we could stop for a bite at one of the many restaurants at the Rosebank Mall area (although we also ate at the hotel one night & found it excellent).

Shuttle was running only on the hour and the half hour. Traffic at the corner where they drop off and pick up, on a Friday night was backed up down Tyrwhitt Ave and we waited for 15 minutes and finally gave up, walking back, even though we had been advised it was not safe. It was also not well lit and the sidewalks were uneven.

Our room was comfortable, clean and the Hotel is located in Rosebank close to the Rosebank Mall where there is wonderful shops and restaurants. Breakfast at the Southern Sun Rosebank was first class. The Hotel Lobby is spacious and the restaurant serves the best meals, the interior design of the Hotel is fabulous. Staff helpful and friendly. We stayed as a family of five people and the service was brilliant. We will recommend this Hotel to other travellers. There is a courtesy car taking guests to the Mall at convenient intervals daily. Thank you for the pleasant stay, we will not hesitate to stay there in future.

The bathroom vanity table was slightly too big and at times the bathroom door smacked against the corner denting the bathroom door.

I love the day staff, I am loyal to 54 on Bath and we love the staff at 54 from the restaurant to reception to the Bell men. We want to thank them for taking us last minute for our breakfast and always accommodating us with such great hospitality. In regards to Southern Sun my parents and my sister’s kids have stayed at Southern Sun Rosebank so they like it. I was pleasantly surprised by the room service food. We have always loved the food at Southern Sun OR Tambo but now we think Rosebank will give them a run for their money.

The very rude receptionist in the afternoon. She had attitude and was rude the whole night of our stay. She is skinny dark and has short hair plus wears glasses. The rest of the Southern Staff from 54th of Bath, OR Tambo, Sun City and even in Maputo is all world class. It’s a pity she’s ruining it for such a great brand.

We booked 3 rooms ... all 3 were a little different. Our room we loved that it was just a shower and not a shower and bath combined. Loved the complimentary cookies provided every day. Breakfast was good. Could do with some improvements (more variety of pastries and get a pancake machine like the Southern Sun Sandton branch). It was good that they offered a separate Halaal egg station for Muslim travellers. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The fact that you have to pay R65 a day for undercover parking and if it's full you still pay and have to park outside. That does not seem fair or safe. The spa prices were a bit too expensive. The rooms were not given the same attention to detail, like one out of the three rooms did not get refreshment refills like the other two.

Excellent and convenient location in easy driving distance from where we needed to be. The rooms were well serviced. Mostly very friendly staff, breakfast was very good and the staff attentive.

Having to pay for parking when the hotel has dedicated parking facilities is poor. It is ok when you are there for a day or two but we stayed for a week so this presents a hassle when entering and leaving plus an additional expense. The hotel should validate parking for longer stays.
