Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The property truly exceeded our expectations and felt like a hidden gem in Nelspruit. The staff, including the owners, were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Their dedication and kindness left a lasting impression on us. Everything was perfect, from the comfort of the rooms to the overall ambiance of the property. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we will definitely return in the future.

This is a beautiful old house, lovingly restored and situated on the most peaceful and beautiful property in Mbombela. The Breakfast is fantastic, substantial, with a large variety of homemade jams, marmalades and curds and a choice of hot breakfast. The three course dinner cooked by Stanford and his team is absolutely delicious and of excellent quality. The rooms are beautifully furnished, big and the beds are very comfortable. Rooms 1-4 have garden access, which is wonderful and the garden is beautiful. Andrew, Kim, Lucy and the cat, were excellent hosts. I love Torburnlea and will return with my family in July.

A stunning high end guest house with the most beautiful furnishings. Every little detail in this place is a treat. The rooms are very welcoming with so much detail and luxury, from beautiful soaps to coffee and rusks - a complete treat. I was only able to have breakfast and may I say that it was out of this world. Beautifully presented and excellent service. I would definitely stay again if I had the opportunity.

I struggled a bit to find the place so perhaps send better directions once your in the estate.

Wonderful, antique-styled house with beautiful garden in closed and safe estate area. Owner & management very nice - thank you, Andrew & Stanford. We booked room 3 and asked if we could see other free rooms. No problem to change to room 6 for the regular difference between these two rooms. Room 6 on first floor was great and big. Separate seating lounge with great garden view. Comfortable bed. Bathroom separated by full wall from ground to ceiling. Non-buffet-breakfast and dinner which was no problem because rich and tasty.

One point deduction for thin wall to room 5 which lets you hear what happens next door. These are the only 2 rooms on first floor, so booking both as a family would be perfect.

All I admire in a well run, beautifully appointed property . This refurbished homestead has been updated to a very high standard. What I adore about Torburnlea is the interior decor. The attention to detail and the comfort for guests is unsurpassable. Its history along with that of the Hall family is fascinating. Stanford what a gentleman you are and an extremely good chef, thank you for the attention you paid to us. We will certainly be back.

The attention to detail will make even a quick overnight stop, feel like a pamper. This gorgeous home, steeped in history, is situated within a lovely small gated estate, making one feel secure when strolling the area. Highlights were the beautiful patio where we sat for hours enjoying sundowners, the delicious harvest box ( dinners are not served on a Sun or Mon night but there is a harvest box option), the fantastic breakfast and the warm and friendly hosts, Andrew and Kim. The home is absolutely beautiful. Recommended for a romantic getaway or a good rest post a Kruger visit.

This is a beautifully decorated, secure property which I recommend unreservedly. The interior design is impressive and is matched by the welcome from Kim, Andrew and Stanford. The bedrooms and the communal areas exude elegance and style but are also comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal in the dining room, prepared and served by Stanford and probably, as a result, were not able to do justice to the excellent breakfast the following morning.

An exceptional stay! The location is amazing, surrounded by grand gardens that make it feel truly special. The room was extra comfortable, and the hospitality was outstanding – a perfect showcase of warm South African service at its best.
