Everything was more or less up to the mark.

The only thing, I did not like was that we called for the chef yesterday night to discuss some vegetable option as two of our people were Veg. To our surprise we found that the chef was totally drunk and he was giving is the option of chicken chunks which according to him was veg. Finally one of the waiter their understood the whole situation and called someone else to understand our requirement and managed the situation very tactfully for which we are really grateful. Hotel management must do something to avoid such situation as it earns bad reputation for such a nice hotel chain. I was really surprised on such behaviour and had also told the reception guy while checking out today morning.

The property is magnificent. Location is at the heart of the town. But the staff was incredibly amazing from check-in, attendance, and checkout. My kids drank both still and sparkling water from the minibar, and my little angel peed on bed. When I reported both events to the staff on checkout, they just gave me the greatest smile I had ever seen and said its OK sir. The water is free and about the bed we will inform the housekeeping staff, thank you. I was like no fees? They said no. I was like, wow! Additionally, the breakfast is lovely and rich. My kids loved making their own waffles.

The breakfast was exceptional

Check-in took about half an hour because there was only one person working . TV signal was horrible. Only a few channels to choose from. Warm water was very limited. Only hot for first person showering. Bath plug was broken. Aircon kept on switching off during the night and definitely not as per the temperature options . The sheets setup was horrible. Soft sheets but it's as if they took a big sheet and wrapped it around a blanket. Everything kept getting tied up and a mess on both beds during the night. A duvet would have been way better.

Very clean, staff was nice, comfortable bed, luxurious towels and bedding 👌

Furniture is a bit dated.

I have been staying at this hotel since 2003, almost every time during a visit to Mbombela. Their consistency with their level of service, quality of the rooms, and the food remains exceptional. I had a brief hiatus in not staying there from 2017 until 2024, and I was quite surprised in how well this relatively "old" hotel has been maintained.

I just cannot name an issue I disliked.

The aircon really needs a service or perhaps an upgrade. It sounded like it days are over. Sometimes it runs ok, and sometimes it really makes a lot of noise which was not ok. Please have it looked at. Thanks!

Where to start? Excellent value for money. Extremely professional and friendly staff Breakfast is unbelievable value with both cook breakfast and awesome fruit salads including fresh local fruit, passion fruits, paw paw melon and cold meats, Lovely sized pool, loads of parking and a Casino and shopping Mall across the road. really enjoyed our stay on the way to Kruger park Perfect place to start your safari holiday

We love the old lowveld feel of the property. Beautiful established gardens, old-feel building facade and restaurant area. Just awesome. Regarding staff, German, Paul and Elphus were just the best. Amazingly helpful, intuitive and caring. Sharp on their duties. Very professional and efficient. Communicate well. Phumeza on the other hand was a grumpy, unfriendly, unhelpful grouch. At first I thought it was maybe just a communication issue, but that thought was put to rest when, later during breakfast she insisted on pushing past me with a tray of dishes, forcing me to squeeze myself between another guests chairs and table just so she could (thanklessly) force her way past me. Seriously - she almost spoiled our breakfast with her useless careless helpless attitude. Unimpressed with her. She stands around doing nothing while the rest of the staff flit about being very productive.

Not much in the way of shade in the parking lot.

Easily accessible, clean and spacious room, nice breakfast and the outside environment is clean and beautiful. Check in was efficient and swiftly done. I'd really love to lodge in this hotel again in case I'm around again. 🙏🙏🙏

I was so disappointed and angry after my card was debited 3 times on the 27th Sept., reversed one payment and the other two went through instead of one. Spoke to the hotel after sending an email on Friday, 29th Sept. Despite my email and call on Friday, the hotel failed to refund my money, today on Monday, 02nd October I emailed again and even call but not yet refunded even now at 14h50. I'm so disappointed and angry because this exercise had inconvenienced me. I didn't expect this from such a big hotel. Not even a formal apology to date 😔

I was there for the Kaapsehoop marathon and the hotel was well prepared for the runners. Breakfast packs and coffee that early in the morning was such a great gesture.The staff I interacted with was always helpful from the guy at the gate to the reception area. Well done - would definitely stay again
