I spent more than 2 hours calling the extensions of the hotel and nobody answered the phone while I needed to order dinner(room service) , that was from 18:00 and gave up at 20:30 because I was seeing nobody will answer those phones . I even used my cellphone to call the lines directly still no answer. Which made me wonder if it was emergency what was gonna happen to me

They didn't open their pool. And they are not refunding me my money that they are supposed to refunding me back. Since the 27th of December. They are busy telling me stories everyday. So if you go to sharenton don't check out early, until your day of check out. Because you will regret it they will not refund you in time. They are busy telling me stories while I need my money back.

The hotel is exactly as I remember except for the permanently closed jazz bar downstairs. All the staff are exceptionally good and were the best part of my stay. That kind of service training is hard to come by these days I needed to use the business center a lot and this space is well kitted out for any needs. The pool looked inviting!

The hotel is tired and in need of refresh. There were cockroaches in the bar area. A set of doors to the pool area was cordoned off with red and white emergency tape and some plants in pots for the duration of my stay. It is clearly not due to any short term problem. The tape is untidy and looks terrible. I had to change my room because the usb portal next to the bed was broken

Very friendly staff, always ready to help. Overall a very clean hotel, the bathroom is spotless, the shower is fantastic and the beds are comfortable. Free computer terminals in the hotel lobby and free printing at the reception.The executive rooms on the 6th and 7th floor have access to a printer in the shared lounge. In that shared executive lounge is a happy hour from 5 to 7 pm with free snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

The swimming pool should be more often serviced. I had to clean it myself for 15 minutes (fishing the leaves) before I could swim.

Beautiful hotel.

On arrival, we did not feel welcome at all. Although the guy at reception appologise for their ignorace on us, it did not make us feel better. When we left, once again, although professional, not very helpful, nor friendly. For the first time booking into a hotel, (and we travel a lot) we really did not feel welcome. Our bedding in room 517 had stains on it. I took a photo, but did not report it, becaue if you don't feel welcome in a place, you also know that a complain would rather make it worse.

What I didn't like we were not well accepted, after we were not told that there is no electricity until you go and ask that there is no electricity at our rooms for 3 days no TV sleeping in the dark rooms but we paid full amount, we were struggling to charge our phones again you must go down and ask at the reception to charge your phone really we were not happy. The water is luke warm for bathing during the night you must open the wardrobe to get the light this is really frustrating

Such good value for money, just a wonderful experience. Its slightly outdated but still has that air of sophistication and opulence. Really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back

There were some slight service issues and lack of attention to detail. Ther could be more training around developing more awareness of the customer needs. This is a posh hotel and the restaurant staff should be better trained at developing the nuances required at this level.

The highlight for us was the area around the swimming pool, with an amazing view on the Union buildings. We spent a good deal of our time relaxing there. The rooms are nice and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom. An excellent feature is the “electric battery” with various sockets that fits most world plugs. We did not experience load shedding in the hotel, there is 24/7 current due to hotel generators. We used the parking throughout our 9 nights stay, always friendly staff attending. We sometimes had breakfast, lunch or dinner at the hotel. Good buffet and à la carte, friendly service everywhere. Finally, the central area is beautiful and reception very helpful. A tip for visitors: there is a Kwikspar supermarket 2 blocks away, a safe walk down the street.

Washing bath towels seemed a challenge, so sometimes the old towels were already taken and new ones did not arrive yet. We would have been fine not having replacements every day, which is quite common in Europe and saves energy and water.

Very big hotel and has nicely sized rooms but needs a revamp. I stayed here 23 years ago, and nothing has changed really. But location good, breakfast and meals good, ATM on site, parking on site. Fine for a short stay in Pretoria

The smell of oil from cooking breakfast and dinner seeped up through the central area and into all corridors and rooms. Even into the fitness centre. Was very disagreeable at 7am in the morning while sleeping Fitness Centre had very little equipment, just 1 treadmill, 1 bike, 1 stepper for example. Had to wait till others finished

Confusion about availability of reserved rooms on arrival. We were lucky as we had paid a month before, but our check-in was so long due to waiting in queue for those who had just reserved but not paid. The reception staff were busy trying to find rooms for those people.
