The Westin Josun hotel's location is superb and next to an historic monument, called the HWANGUDAN ALTAR. Our room had a direct view of this altar and it was awesome. Reception and all staff were superb, spoke good English and very helpful/courteous. Minutes walk to iconic shopping areas like Myeong Dong, underground shopping streets and 2 subway stations nearby. Easy access to other Seoul areas by the efficient Metro subway system.

Cleaning however needs to be improved. Whilst the cleaning crew made the beds and cleaned the toilets nicely everyday, I noticed that the floors were never vacuumed, hence full of hair and probably dust which caused my feet to itch walking on the carpets (with slippers on)

We love where the hotel is located, right next to Lotte Main store, Lotte Young Plaza, and Lotte Department store, and across the street, you find yourself at the beginning of the Myeong-dong area where all the street food, good restaurants, young and fashionable stuffs, skincare shops, their local fashion brands are. It is also a 20mins walk to our day tour meeting point. We did not take any public transport, except for the airport limousine, which stopped right at the doorstep of the hotel. Other hotels have their stops away from their lobby, unlike this one. You do not have to worry about rain, and the hotel concierge will even help with the luggage, together with the driver. From another entrance to the hotel, you simply cross a small street to reach the subway station entrance. That is the linkway bringing you to many different exits, so check the map when you are near the exit entrance. Our breakfast is on the top floor where their lounge is, and you can order your freshly cooked egg the way you like it done, unlike other hotels where you see egg stations, this one is done out of sight in their kitchen. The abalone porridge they serve is delicious and fresh! We tried other restaurants like Sushi (next to the lounge), and Italian on the Lower Level (LL). I would say they are a little bit localized, but we didn't mind that, as it still tastes delicious. A little letdown on the Crème Brûlée at the Italian restaurant thou their chef tried to make the sugar more caramelized, but it just wasn't as good as those we have had at other places outside Korea. The room is spacious and very comfortable with adequate hangers (I know this is often under-appreciated), and they offer turndown service as well. It is also worth mentioning that all their team speaks good English. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay with them when I visit again.

All the entrance to the subway station are stairs, if you want to look for escalator, you need to walk further. This is not the hotel's issue, but more of how Korea subway is like, so if you have weak knees, maybe use other mode of transport instead.

The room itself was quiet. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the bustling Myeongdong "street food carts" area. It was easy to get from the airport to Seoul Station by train and then catch a subway for only one stop to City Hall Station which is very close to the hotel. Unfortunately there was a family on the same floor who let their children run in the hall and yell up until 2am. Since I had booked tours that left early every morning the short nights of sleep took a toll. As a kind suggestion......maybe hotel staff can place families with many children on the same floor as other families with children.

From the entrace staff to the reception everyone so welcoming and friendly. Great location close to markets and shopping. Very good breakfast on 20th floor. Room spacious and very neat. And the cocktails on the ground floor, don’t miss that.

Nothing at all

It’s our ‘to stay at’ hotel each time we are in Seoul. It is conveniently located at Myeongdong with key subway lines to move to other areas.

The room is a bit jaded now, thought it is still clean. The price is on the steep side probably due to its branding and location post Covid.

The location is excellent. Everything you need is close to you. The view was great. The staff were very nice and helpful. The airport limousine bus stop at the Hotel.

I can hear my neighbor. The hotel is a bit old.

Location for first timers to Seoul is excellent. It is near to Myeongdong the shopping street. My room did not come with breakfast but there are plenty of food choices nearby. There is a basement food court & a supermarket, in Lotte Hotel which is literally just next door to Westin. January is supposedly a low month for Seoul, so I managed to get the room for SGD250 (daily rate) for a relatively big room that comes with a king size bed and a small sofa set. Amenities are complete in the room and in the bathroom. The bed and pillows are fluffy and super comfortable & the room has black out curtain, so I slept very well. I was traveling alone hence I did not want my room to be the last room or next to an exit. To keep the story short, they showed me 3 rooms before I settled on one. I have to give it to the front desk staff for her professionalism and patience extended to me. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get her name.

If I have to pick on something for the room, I was hoping to have a walk-in shower instead of having to climb into a bathtub to take a shower.

A peaceful and convenient location at the very centre of Seoul. The hotel maintains it's historic reputation for comfort and style. The staff were most helpful and the reception supervisor was particularly so in arranging a late checkout. The beds were perhaps the most comfortable that we have experienced in comparison with similar establishments. This is a rules based hotel, which makes for good management.

More fruit options should be offered with the Aria Restaurant buffet breakfast.

The location is conveniently located in the heart of Myeongdong. Its a good place if you want to venture out and explore the surrounding areas, The staff were very professional and helpful and will go the extra mile to make your stay more pleasant. Facilities are well maintained and everything is to a high standard, Breakfast was lovely and would recommend joining the Marriot club membership which is free to get extra perks.

On Major holidays such as New years, Roads maybe closed off so it will impact the ability to call a taxi but public transport is convenient with the train station about a 3-5 minute walk away from the main entrance.
