Not enough light in our room

Loved the spa facilities: used the hot tub, really liked the steam room, and used the sauna. The spa facilities came with a bath robe which I needed for the steam room and sauna, and came with towels for the shower afterward. The spa facilities allowed me to ease neck and back pain due to my age, and due to lots of sight-seeing in Barcelona. Really liked the location. It was close to a metro station which allowed us to travel to various spots inexpensively. Lots of places close by to eat tapas, or have a coffee and fresh sandwich on a baguette in the morning for breakfast. There are two convenience stores across the street to buy bottled water and fresh bread. We also found a grocery store near by (five blocks away from the hotel). The area felt safe to walk in, even at night. There is always someone at the front desk, even late at night.

We didn't know the pillows had feathers until one of us developed an allergic reaction. The lady cleaning our room changed our pillows to non-feather versions as soon as we told her.

Staff were extremely friendly from reception to bar staff to cleaners. The rooms were lovely and spacious and cleaned every day. The pool area was so lovely after exploring the city all day. There was a button you could push and a waiter would appear to take food/drinks order. What a special touch that was. We only ate round by the pool but food was lovely. Lots of places to eat nearby. La rambla was a 15 min walk. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance apart from the beach, that was a 15 min cab ride away. Will defo return to the hotel.

The swimming pool was closed for the winter ?. No bar at the hotel to have a relaxing drink and chill in. Although one of the facilities says there is a sauna, I was told I could hire it for myself for €70 or pay to use it with others.

I liked that the hotel has a backed up power source so during the power cut in spain the hotel was unaffected. The food was really nice, both breakfast and dinner. The location was quite central and close to most of the tourist attractions. The wellness facilities and the pool area were also well kept. Also the bathroom has both a shower area and a separate bathtub so you can choose which to use then the toilet and a bidet., our room was upgraded though so not sure if all the rooms had this..

I would have like the air conditioning to be a bit colder as we could not decrease the temperature below a certain point. Then the bathroom sink is outside the bathroom probably due to the room's design. Then the faint smell in the hallway leading to the room but it wasn't too bad at all.

Great Stay – Highly Recommended! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was ideal, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Dinner wasn’t buffet-style like breakfast, but there was a good variety of tasty dishes to choose from, so we never left the table hungry. Peaceful atmosphere and great service overall. We also had the opportunity to relax in the spa during our reserved time slots, which was a great addition to our stay. We were here on our honeymoon and it was a lovely experience. We’d gladly stay here again!

We stayed at Acevi Villaroel for 9 days at the end of May 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We took the Metro directly from the Airport to the hotel. Urgell Metro station is conveniently located only a few blocks away. We arrived early, and at the end left late. Without hesitation the friendly staff offered a safe room to store our luggage until check in time. Location: We like to walk so we found the location of the hotel between two to 25 minute walk to some fantastic restaurants. 25 minute walk to La Rambla and 45 minutes to the Zoo or waterfront. Easy walk to the Hop on Hop off bus and tour meeting locations. Metro or buses were close transportation options. The Room: the room was everything we needed. Hardwood floors, spacious bathroom. The king sized bed was very comfortable and clean. The bedding crisp and white. The air conditioning worked flawlessly and kept a consistent comfortable temperature. We found the room very quiet from street noise and no noise from neighbours. The room had a mini bar, tv and kettle plus a safe which was perfect to protect your passport and valuables. The shower had great pressure and lots of hot water and a great professional hair dryer. The bathroom towels were extra large, crisp and white changed daily. Other amenities: We viewed the pool and gym but did not use it, so no comment other than they looked very nice. We read some of the negative reviews and quite frankly could not relate. Our stay was nothing but positive. We would highly recommend this hotel and felt it was good value. Everything was clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Location was great.

Plus points: Well positioned for attractions and points of interests, bus stop to the beach right outside and metro station a short walk away. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. Huge triple room with plenty of space. Really nice staff, very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast, an abundance of options. Other facilities such as a gym and spa were available but we didn't use them. Dislikes: Not a huge issue but the hotel feels a little dated. Swimming pool not open. Pillows were uncomfortable leading to poor sleep. Air conditioning in the room was loud at night.

Very good location. The staff was super kind and helpful. The room was very clean. The bed was big and comfortable and the bathroom was one of the biggest I've seen. There is metro close by and there are a lot of restaurants and bars in the area. It also has a swimming pool that is of very decent size.

I would like to have an espresso machine in the room but that is because it is a 4 star hotel and I expected it.

The spa was amazing, an hour a day was included. The sauna is super hot and the jet pool is lovely. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom had both a bath and a shower, it was nice to have the choice. Best of all, the staff on the front desk were so lovely and remembered my name and room number every time I had a question or wanted to book a spa slot. They were really welcoming and the service was very personal, which made me feel safer as a solo female. There were great restaurants really nearby, even the seafood place next door was super, and the location felt safe.

The spa changing area could be better laid out, or even just having some mats, because the floor of the changing rooms and the corridor got very wet and flooded. Otherwise it was all good.
