Really nice room. Nice bathroom with a shower and bath.

The swimming pool was closed for the winter ?. No bar at the hotel to have a relaxing drink and chill in. Although one of the facilities says there is a sauna, I was told I could hire it for myself for €70 or pay to use it with others.

We stayed at Acevi Villaroel for 9 days at the end of May 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We took the Metro directly from the Airport to the hotel. Urgell Metro station is conveniently located only a few blocks away. We arrived early, and at the end left late. Without hesitation the friendly staff offered a safe room to store our luggage until check in time. Location: We like to walk so we found the location of the hotel between two to 25 minute walk to some fantastic restaurants. 25 minute walk to La Rambla and 45 minutes to the Zoo or waterfront. Easy walk to the Hop on Hop off bus and tour meeting locations. Metro or buses were close transportation options. The Room: the room was everything we needed. Hardwood floors, spacious bathroom. The king sized bed was very comfortable and clean. The bedding crisp and white. The air conditioning worked flawlessly and kept a consistent comfortable temperature. We found the room very quiet from street noise and no noise from neighbours. The room had a mini bar, tv and kettle plus a safe which was perfect to protect your passport and valuables. The shower had great pressure and lots of hot water and a great professional hair dryer. The bathroom towels were extra large, crisp and white changed daily. Other amenities: We viewed the pool and gym but did not use it, so no comment other than they looked very nice. We read some of the negative reviews and quite frankly could not relate. Our stay was nothing but positive. We would highly recommend this hotel and felt it was good value. Everything was clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Location was great.

Plus points: Well positioned for attractions and points of interests, bus stop to the beach right outside and metro station a short walk away. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. Huge triple room with plenty of space. Really nice staff, very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast, an abundance of options. Other facilities such as a gym and spa were available but we didn't use them. Dislikes: Not a huge issue but the hotel feels a little dated. Swimming pool not open. Pillows were uncomfortable leading to poor sleep. Air conditioning in the room was loud at night.

The spa was amazing, an hour a day was included. The sauna is super hot and the jet pool is lovely. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom had both a bath and a shower, it was nice to have the choice. Best of all, the staff on the front desk were so lovely and remembered my name and room number every time I had a question or wanted to book a spa slot. They were really welcoming and the service was very personal, which made me feel safer as a solo female. There were great restaurants really nearby, even the seafood place next door was super, and the location felt safe.

The spa changing area could be better laid out, or even just having some mats, because the floor of the changing rooms and the corridor got very wet and flooded. Otherwise it was all good.

The car park was really hard to find they need to re do the map! We were not told that there was a charge for the car park. We do not mind paying but we should have been told in case our attitude to payment was different, judy small things but important, we also own a hotel.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was clean and had decent space. Our queen bed was comfortable. Location was surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and bazaars, easily walkable since the city is highly pedestrianized. Easy drop off and pickup for taxis in front of the hotel. They serve breakfast downstairs. If you miss it there's a lot of choices around the corner. There's also a self-service laundrymat 2-3 blocks away. Wifi signal was strong and had a decent speed of around 50 Mbps. Room temperature could be controlled by a thermostat. A water pot was provided to make tea or coffee. The mini fridge was stock full of drinks and snacks.

Although it is walkable to restaurants and shops, it's not close to popular attractions such as Sagrada Familia or Las Ramblas. Not a big deal since taxis are easy to call with Cabify. The room didn't provide electrical sockets at the sides of the bed, although they lent me a powerstrip with a long extension cord. Whoever designed this room didn't consider phone chargers or CPAP machines. There's only one chair so it's not so easy for the two of us to eat in. Window doesn't have a view. The shower had tricky water valves so it was difficult to get the right water temperature and sustain it.

The location of the hotel was ideal; bus stop right outside and the metro only a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast had a good selection of different foods and drinks, and I would say had good value for money. The room we were given was massive and the bed was super comfortable. Although we travelled as friends and were only given one bed, it was such a big bed that it felt like we were in separate ones anyway. Reception staff were really helpful and kind.

A few more plug sockets would have been ideal in the room, and slightly better lighting but other than those small improvements we had no complaints.

The staffs were very friendly, respectful, helpful and accommodating.The hotel is very clean, very shiny, minimalist design.Accessible to the high street, taxi, restaurants.Its abt 10-15 mins walk to get to the main shopping malls.The breakfast was good, it has everything. Free WiFi, pool and gym. We had a good stay.

They gave us a very spacious room and I really liked it but sadly no bidet so we had to change rooms the following day. The room we were given smaller half compared from the first one . The Aircon took time to cool the room ,the toilet flash needed helping as water flow continuously sometimes,very moody .The water splashes out between the gaps from the shower door and the corner which made the flooring wet outside wet.The room have no window to get fresh air. The lights in the room are good to relax but not to put your make up on..

Excellent, beautiful and good location

The receptionist was not cooperative and the procedure was complicated. The specifications of the room I booked were not the same room. When I arrived, they told me that a customer before me had made the same reservation for a room with a large bed. This was not mentioned when I booked. It was also written on Booking that the age of children is over 12, but when I arrived at the hotel, my son is 3 years old. There was an objection to his stay. They put me in mood C and high stress.

This Hotel is in our view perfectly located in a quite area , yet it is still a nice walk to the centre square where Las Ramblas ends. Best traveler tip is to only bring one bank card and some cash with you in your pocket, and try always keep your hand in that pocket when walking about Barcelona. Always secure your passports and cash and a 2nd credit card in your Hotel room safe along with details of your 1st Bank card (in case its needed) . This way if you are unfortunately pick pocketed, you avoid destroying your holidays.
