My stay at Hotel San Polo was nothing short of extraordinary! Nestled right next to the breathtaking ruins of the Iglesia de San Polo, the hotel effortlessly blends modern comfort with historic charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well looked after. The location is unbeatable — just a short stroll from Salamanca’s iconic Plaza Mayor and other key landmarks. It was the perfect base for exploring the city’s rich culture, vibrant streets, and incredible architecture. The room was spotless, stylish, and extremely comfortable, with large windows offering a unique view of the ancient church ruins — waking up to that was something truly special. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the quiet atmosphere made for restful nights. The staff went above and beyond, always friendly and happy to help with anything I needed — from local recommendations to making sure my stay was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism added a personal touch that made me feel right at home. If you're heading to Salamanca and want a hotel that combines history, comfort, and outstanding service — Hotel San Polo is the place to be. I can’t recommend it highly enough and would return in a heartbeat!

The beauty of the place, in full city center, not very far from the highway, the cleanliness of the room, the gentleness of the whole staff especially the night shift, very professional and extremely efficient receptionist, the breakfast waitresses' smiles, amability and patience. And lastly, of course, the gorgeous and generous breakfast buffet.
Absolutely nothing but the hotel would be a much more wonderful "must stay in" place with a roof swimming pool...😅 I 'm, of course joking... Maybe the price of the neighborhood underground car parks.

The Hotel San Polo in Salamanca boasts a prime location near the heart of the city, just a short walk from the Salamanca Cathedral and Plaza Mayor. Surrounded by charming gardens and historic landmarks, the area offers picturesque streets and delightful local cafes and restaurants. The hotel's rooms are spacious and elegantly designed, combining modern comforts with classic style. Large windows provide natural light and stunning views of the historic cityscape. With comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities, the Hotel San Polo ensures a restful and enjoyable stay in an exceptional location.
There is nothing to criticize about the hotel; everything was great. Just make sure you choose either smoking or non-smoking accommodations according to your preference, as they take care to separate guests by floors in this category.

Fruit and pastries and coffee excellent. Cold cuts and cheese slices not so good. Executive menu good but could include some wine. Location very good. Value for money through Booking.com. some staff vety nice.
Room noisy with window open. No informationin room re contacting eg reception, ootside line, wifi. Wifi didn't always connect. Girl on reception didn't know how to get to eg Casa Lis from hotel. No good map available. Bathroom wastepaper basket full of previous guest's rubbish. Staff in dining room didn't know about the set menu available.

Well-run mid-range hotel with pleasant, clean, air-conditioned and beautifully designed rooms... ours with a fantastic view to the cathedral! Helpful and friendly reception. Architecturally interesting connected to the ruins of San Polo church. Good location for exploring the sights of this impressive city on foot.
Parking situation is a bit complicated. To check in you can park just in front of the hotel. The blue zones nearby are not big and were always full. Two parking garages nearby: We were able to use the one closest to us after we had installed the app (Telpark?)... (if you don't use the, app, you will have to pay quite a lot more) .... ticket-free parking garage... then entry and exit was easy, but the interior is narrow and built up. Breakfast variety, quality and atmosphere do not really correspond with the good impression of the hotel we got in general.

The area, the views from the room and the bright space, the shower was great and overall the room is very good.
I didn’t like that when I went to see my room it was opened, normally it should be closed so you know no one has been there. I didn’t like that the cleaning stuff enters the room without knocking, regardless there’s a tag on the door or not, in ALL the hotels I have been they always have to knock. Here they just come in without even letting you say anything. Also they start so early to move furniture without any care that the guest are still sleeping around 8/9 AM.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. In my opinion it looks better in person than the pictures (usually it's the other way around). We got a nicely maintained room with an all-marble bathroom and a spectacular view of the cathedral right from the window. The hotel appears to be built beside and over a ruin of an old church, which is cool in itself, and looks like it's used as the restaurant terrace when the weather is warmer. It's a 5-10 min walk from here to all of Salamanca's attractions. There's an elevator here, which is good for luggage. Staff are accommodating.
Not really much to complain about, other than this hotel does not allow you to bring any food into your room. There is confusingly a mini-fridge in the room, but we couldn't open it due to the way the cabinet around it was constructed.

We enjoyed our stay at San Polo. The location was great and only a short walk from the main square. The room was a really good size and had a lovely view of the cathedral. We drove to Salamanca from Madrid, and although there wasn't parking at the hotel, it was really easy to use the public parking at Reyes De Espana which was only a 3 minute walk from the hotel.

Fabulous location, on the edge of the historic area with a 5 minute walk to the main Plaza. Very comfortable bed, the bathroom had a bath and excellent shower. The room and public areas were spotlessly clean. We only have a snack for breakfast and were able to buy a coffee and a croissant, rather than have a large hotel breakfast.
The room was old fashioned and a bit tired, it could do with a refurb but not to the point that it detracted from our stay .

Location was excellent. The room was comfortable.
The bath/shower screen has a fault and when taking a shower water spills on the floor and floods the bathroom and beyond. We ended up having to mop the floor as guests. Very bad! Breakfast isn't good value, at times some items are not refilled. Bacon is not cooked well, very dry.
