The staff were professional and spoke fluent English. The room was spotless and daily cleaning was thorough. The bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows. There are numerous electrical sockets available, including one at the desk if you want to charge your laptop while using it. A hotel safe is available for storage of your valuables, and is easy to operate. The windows let in plenty of sunshine during the day, and the curtains block sunlight satisfactorily if you want privacy or some rest. Wonderful location in a safe neighborhood with quick access to the metro system, as the Alonso Martínez metro station (lines 4, 5, 10) is just around the corner and the Bilbao station (lines 1, 4) is about 400 m away, yet the price is a steal compared to other four star hotels in Madrid. Considering the prime location, the room was reasonably spacious.

Sound insulation isn't the best. Hot water took quite a bit of time to heat up, maybe a minute or two. The shower is not completely enclosed, so water may leak out to the bathroom floor outside. Air conditioning is not adjustable. Access to the elevator on the ground floor requires climbing a few stairs first, which may not be convenient for people with heavier luggage. Toiletries including razors and shaving cream are provided, but not replenished.

Truly unbeatable location. The outside of the hotel looks very dated, but it’s surrounded by beautiful buildings. Close to great restaurants and bars, and a subway station. The rooms are actually way better than the photos provided, maybe they recently updated them. Very generous check in/check out time, will definitely come back.

The shower door is only half a door, so the water splashes out to the bathroom floor, but nothing crazy.

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel. The location is perfect: good neighborhood, restaurants and supermarkets nearby, few steps to the metro station and a few minutes walk to Colon and Serrano. The room I got this time was superb - probably a suite (although I had reserved a standard duble). It had a living room, a bedroom, and a huge bathroom. Everything superclean.

The staff at the reception is professional, but some extra smile would be appreciated. Given the level of the room, not having the possibility of preparing coffee or tea was surprising. Wifi could be faster.

Located perfectly just north of bustling Chueca neighbourhood. Many locals, few tourists, sub nearby that gets you in 5min to the city centre, 40min to the airport. Walking distance to Gran Via about 20min. Room was decent, but walls super thin (you will hear every sneeze). Cleaning ladies and breakfast staff super nice, reception staff partially a bit grumpy (some were really nice though).

Breakfast was not 4 star level, 3 star at best. I'd recommend checking out some of the amazing cafés nearby. 15€ will get you way better stuff. Price is really high. Maybe that's a Madrid thing but 180/night gives you real 5 stars in Austria. Still, I enjoyed my visit a lot, overall.

Some front desk staff could learn to smile and make customer care bit more pleasurable.Tough job but it makes a difference..to me the client.

You are in the heart of gran via so location was perfect. You are a walking distance from a supermarket, metro station and all restaurants. The room was very clean and spacious with a clean bathroom equipped with towels shampoo etc. The cleaning staff made sure to change your towels frequently for a small tip.

We were on our honeymoon and specifically made sure we tell the receptionist about that to make us more convenient. However, we ee got a room right under the construction which started DAILY at 8 am in the morning constantly until late noon. The staff were rude and inpatient especially the restaurant staff. Small things were an inconvenience to them and made it very difficult i.e a simple request for ice. However,they were kind enough to compensate us for some of the trouble since we had a long stay with them though.

The hotel location was excellent! Very close to public transportation and easy to get a taxi when needed. And since it was not on the main road it was quiet and I was able to get a good night's sleep. The room was very comfortable, well apportioned and with excellent Wifi. The shower was nice and hot and the amenities were equally excellent. I did not have the breakfast as I felt it was too expensive.

The staff did not always greet me when I came in which I felt should be standard procedure. I also would have liked to have a coffee maker in the room. These were the only 2 negatives

Great location and very nice staff. The checkin and checkout were smooth and the receptionists were very nice. The room was very good.

A lady working at the bar in the evening was very mean. I asked if I can have a tea and she said the bar is closed while I saw she was still serving a group of people sitting and chatting. It was 10:45pm when I wanted to order while The bar usually close by 11:0pm

We have stayed here before and booked months ahead to ensure we could get a room again. First, the location is great. It’s at the edge of the downtown area in a quiet street, in the elegant residential district of Chamberí. It’s very close to Alonso Martinez metro station, which is served by several metro lines, and it’s in walking distance from the Pl de Olivade which offers great tapas cafes around a lovely garden/playground square. Second, the hotel is full service and very comfortable, with obliging staff. They do a great breakfast buffet. There is a good cafe in the hotel.

Just my usual gripe about lack of electric kettle to make tea.

The location was perfect! very close to several bars and restaurants as well as to the metro station. The breakfast buffet was great; I just wish I went a little longer, as I do not tend to eat breakfast too early in the morning.

When I checked in, I was given a key to a room that was already occupied, and I walked into my room to someone in their underwear in bed. This was a bit uncomfortable, to say the least. The only other "complaint" I have is that I wish the rooms had a coffee machine.
