Our room had two doors that opened out to a small balcony and provided a good view of the old surrounding buildings. The bed was super comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean. There are bars and clubs in the street and there was noise some nights from patrons leaving these places, however the balcony doors were double glazed and there were wooden door shutters that muted the noise. The hotel is in a great location and we walked all over Madrid without having to use the Metro once. There is a supermarket just down the road and a simple shared kitchen facility for guests with complimentary tea and coffee. There is a lift to get your luggage up to the room.

The room was big and comfortable and location was smack in the center really good and high value place to sleep as the cost was 1/4th to any other place nearby. Also love the fact there was a kitchen and several fridges to keep the beer cold!

Its quite thin walls and you could hear people on the streets and other rooms quite easy for me this is not an issue as i can sleep trough anything. also the key system was a bit annoying having to have 4 different keys to get in but not a huge problem at all

Unbeatable location, easy to find and access and kept nicely clean. Bed was comfy, although they use blanket and sheets rather than a duvet.

Good location means a decent amount of late night street noise. Thankfully we're heavy sleepers but could be annoying. Also a little bit of a smell from the drains if you don't close the sliding bathroom door.

The people were friendly and the room was clean. The location is perfect to explore Madrid. There was a nice free-to-use kitchen with coffee, tea, etc.

The room is a bit cramped for a tall Dutchman like myself (1,9M). Same for the bathroom. The bed was really too short for me. We like to sleep with the windows open but there was quite a lot of noise (which is to be expected in this location probably).

I enjoyed every aspect of my stay. I received an email in advance informing me of ways I could get from the airport to Hostal La Zona. This was excellent and very helpful. The location is fantastic and is walking distance to all of the highlights. Everything is on your door step. It's also surrounded by great clothes shops and there is a supermarket next door. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and cosy. It was also extremely safe which was very important to me. The bathroom was lovely and the shower was so nice, great pressure and there were toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and it was a cosy stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

It was all fantastic.

The location is wonderful - so many restaurants and bars to choose from and if you like to shop, one block over was everything you could think of. We really appreciated the hospitality of our host, Esteban, who took the time to walk us up the block on the night of our arrival and show us three of his favourite bars.

I made the mistake of booking a room which was too small for us, our electronics and our luggage but our hosts sorted this out and moved us to a larger and perfect room for our last two nights. This is a very noisy area so it takes a bit of adjustment to appreciate garbage trucks at 5 am and drunks sharing a bottle at 4 pm but it’s also lots of fun.

The room was spotless and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great location, very close to the Metro, restaurants, bars and cafes. An easy walk to the center of Madrid

A very nice and helpful staff. The room was super clean and had all the amenities you need. In a common room you could make yourself tea and coffee and had the possibility to store food/drinks in a fridge and heat them up in a microwave. The accomodation is super central -you can easily get to the different neighbourhoods and sights on foot or by bus/metro. It is a very quiet street during the day but it can get very noisy at night -at least over the weekend-as there are many food places/bars in the vicinity. I would book the sccomodation again

The location was unbeatable, right at the heart of Madrid, by the Gran Via subway station - easy access to everything. They offer complimentary coffee and tea, at your leisure, which is also quite lovely. My room had nice windows that would open and a balcony to look out of.

Because it is so close to the Gran Via it can get a bit noisy, especially if you are a light sleeper and want to get to bed early (why would you though being in Madrid?!) So just a heads up.

Great location. Very centre but not too noisy. Secure building and room itself (other than the bathroom) is quite roomy. Bigger than expected for sure and have a little balcony. There is a common kitchen area you can use the fridge which is good too.

The bath room is a bit small and the water for shower is somewhat unstable (temperature). The shower was not that clean. It was okay but could be better. The bedding, maybe it is a Spanish thing? but it is a blanket in between two bed sheets essentially and not very warm. There is an additional blanket in the closet though but the sheet blanket sheet sandwich thing was kinda confusing and felt less clean for a hotel (compare to having a proper duvet cover that covers everything).
