A very smart hotel, comfortable and good-sized room. Exceptionally clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. A very convenient location for central Madrid, a few minutes' walk from Plaza Mayor.

The only downside was the temperature in our room - on a brisk February day, it was 28 degrees inside, with no heating on. With the aircon on full all night, it struggled down to 24 degrees. Opening the window did not help, as our room was on the inside, opening into the central atrium - which was enclosed by a glass roof and just as hot as the room! Perplexing...

A cozy boutique hôtel, charming from the entrance and the hotel square, the lobby, rooms with balcony, the food, the breakfast was delicious, the location is exceptional in the center of Madrid next to all the restaurants, bars and pubs, the flamenco theater , to the supermarkets, tourists attractions and more ... the staff is amazing , very helpful, cheerful, and efficient without exception... I stayed on there 2 nights on the fourth floor where I was enjoying the view and my cozy balcony... then I left to San Sébastien for 4 days, where the staff at the reception kept my luggage in the storage room and came back to intelier palacio San Martin and stayed for 4 more nights and they kept me in the same beautiful room upon my request, everything was beyond expectation and I do strongly recommend Intelier palacio San Martin to evey Tourists, businesses and people ❣️ thank you to all the staff and everyone at the hôtel that made my vacation very easy and pleasant, good luck and keep up the great work, hats off 😀 chapeau bas 💥

Location is excellent!

There is no fresh air. Windows are opening to the inner courtyard of the hotel where the roof is closed with glass. Humid and low oxygen inside the rooms was very uncomfortable.

This hotel was the former United States Embassy in Madrid. The central location was absolutely fabulous for visiting the sites. The monastery was next door and the Cortez Ingles department store was three minute walk away. For Christmas you are able to visit many streets that are decorated. You are near the Gran Via Avenue, Puerta del Sol square, the Plaza Mayor Square, Isabel Square, Cathedral, Opera, Cibeles Fountain, Prado Museum, Cervantes Square, etc. It is a fabulous time in Madrid from 21 December until January 6.

The Intelier Palacio is a wonderful hotel in a great location. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had two beautiful windows facing the courtyard. The hotel has all the modern conveniences but has retained its historic charm and beauty. The staff was incredible and very helpful. We were there when the electricity in all of Spain went out. They handled the situation really well and the hotel had a generator which meant that even though there was no electricity in the rooms and hotel there were still lights. They went out of their way to make sure the guests were taken care of throughout the ordeal. We really appreciated all they did.

The hotel was in a quiet plaza right near a monastery. Madrid Centro is very walkable but if you need Transit there is a metro station within a brief walk. Uber or taxis can pick you up right outside the hotel if need be. We used both types of Transit. It was very hot during our stay so sometimes walking was a bit too much to deal with. We did not eat at the hotel. There are many nearby restaurants but do keep in mind that most places do not open until about 10:00. So you might want to breakfast at the hotel.

We were completely satisfied with the hotel and the staff. The desk staff was very welcoming and the cleaning staff did an excellent job of taking care of our needs and cleaning the room.

Central location in a quiet plaza. A comfortable, quiet, well-equipped room. Friendly staff who keep the room very tidy.

Breakfast lacked: plain natural yoghurt, seeds(Sunflower, Pumpkin, Flax, Chia) fresh juice, and fresh pastries. The only yoghurt available was ACTIVIA Zero Fat Free. We asked if it was possible to have natural yoghurt, and the answer was: "That is the yoghurt that we have." We shouldn’t be expected to follow a diet while on vacation. No other choice in a 4-star hotel?

Everything was excellent. Me and my wife were very happy for choosing to stay at the hotel Intelier Palacio San Martin. Fantastic area, very clean, beautiful hotel and polite staff. Something else also very important. Because of the airport strike our flight was cancelled so we needed to leave earlier. Although the price we booked was with no refund the people from the hotel chose not to charge us the nights we left earlier. This is an extra reason ( their honest and polite decision) to make the same choice next time when we visit Madrid again. Thank you very much. George Mazanakis.

Really enjoyed this hotel ! Wonderfully located in such a central location but not crowded (you are tucked in on a small, lovely, local plaza). Clean and tidy with all the necessities. Great common room for meetings, coffees and late night drinks. And the terrace set up outside when sun comes out is SUPERB Breakfast is extremely diverse and of great quality. Staff is very helpful. I am DEFINITELY coming back next time I’m in Madrid.

Nothing but I might say the gym is small and not super equippe. However it does the job if you need to (dumbbells, few machines, treadmill). And you have a little bonus view over the monastery.
